Grossmans tavern is one of the oldest blues bars in the city, with a rich history of being a venue where iconic musicians have performed for the people in Toronto.
But it is currently under management of two souls who love money, and who have turned the grounds and the venue into a grossly corrupted place to visit and experience now:
even certain of their hired servants have become as equally corrupted as they are.
It used to be a place where anyone could go and enjoy themselves: parking was free; coming in and going out was no hassle; if you wanted to just play some pool, it was never a problem; if you needed a venue to host a show or open mic, they were always willing to accommodate: they appreciated and respected members of the musical community in Toronto and those who were long time known to them.
Hopefully the younger generation coming up might restore or improve the place to a greater splendor than what it is become now, when their corrupted elders, who have sullied its reputation with their greed, move on to their appointed place.

Read moreThis long running bar has been a part of this city long before me, conveniently located in the China town Spadina Avenue area. I enjoyed the vibe of this place very much, rustic yet funky. The wait staff are very nice and friendly, and are not shy to give out compliments. I wore a Guns and Roses t-shirt and received compliments from one preticular staff member, I think I will surprise her and give it to her. The place is filled with talented folks, young and older. The live music makes Grossman's tavern unique and you are always welcome to get up and dance. I really loved lounging on their awesome patio overlooking the corner of Spadina ave and Nassau, great place for a drink with friends and neighbors. I really love Grossman's for the Live music, with real musical instruments. I am truly happy to call Grossman's one of my favorite neighborhood bars, oh and did I mention the Live...
Read moreMy parents used to go here in the 50’s and 60’s. I had a Grossmans sweatshirt I inherited from my Dad. I remember it was orange. Anyway years later in the early 80’s,myself and my university friends hit Grossmans one night and that was it!! Regulars for a very long time now. I remember seeing and partying with Jeff Healy,Gordie Johnson,Amanda Marshal to name a few. One night we even saw Burton Cummings. We walked in heard the band playing American Woman and lo and behold there’s Burton singing it with the band. Absolutely awesome!! The owners lost their wonderful daughter years ago and started charity in her name to help under privileged students I believe. Wonderful family run bar for years. Haven’t been in awhile but it’s time for a nostalgic visit to Grossmans!! Love this place! So...
