I had the best experience at this ramen place today!😋 From the moment my friend and I walked in, we were greeted by the friendliest staff. Everyone was smiling and so kind, which really made us feel welcome. There was even a moment when some tissues fell and my friend’s chopstick slipped, and the staff was quick to notice and replaced them without us having to ask. It’s those small details that really show how great they are!

As for the food, it was absolutely delicious. We ordered the shoyu ramen, kara-miso ramen, and tonkatsu. The noodles were perfectly chewy, not too soft, and a bit different from other places I’ve tried, which I loved. The broth was rich and flavorful. The tonkatsu was crispy and juicy, even without the sauce! My friend and I instantly regretted only ordering the 4pcs instead of the 6pcs – it was that good😅

The vibe in the restaurant was amazing. We even had a short, fun chat with the waitress about saying “thank you” in Japanese, and she was so sweet and funny :)

I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and an even better atmosphere. I will definitely be back!!!!

Today was my second visit to the Santouka ramen restaurant at Scarborough since its official opening. This time, I tried some appetizers that I hadn’t ordered during my last visit. I especially want to recommend the fried pork cutlet. The outer crust is crispy and flavorful, while the pork inside is tender and very juicy. Unlike other Japanese fried pork cutlets served with creamy dipping sauce, Santouka’s cutlet is paired with shredded onions, which balanced the richness perfectly. I also highly recommend the pan-fried dumplings. Bursting and juices. The service at the Scarborough location is very attentive, and the staff double-checks our order for accuracy before placing it. The prices are reasonable, making this ramen shop highly recommended. I'm lucky that I love Santouka ramen, so I no longer have to spend time driving to the downtown location. In addition to traditional Japanese-flavored ramen, they also offer options with less oil and less salt. They even have vegetarian ramen. It truly is a ramen shop that I...

Yesterday, I hit up this ramen joint in Scarborough with a buddy, and man, was I blown away! I went for their signature ramen, and the broth was so rich and flavorful—it totally knocked my socks off with the first sip! The noodles had that perfect chewy texture, the toppings were super tender and just melted in my mouth, and the sides were next-level good, with such a rich and satisfying flavor. It was absolutely killer!

The vibe in the place was super chill, and the staff were really friendly. When I was ordering, they even hooked me up with their top recommendations. Even though it was packed during peak hours and we had to wait about 15 minutes, it was totally worth it after that first bite. The taste was spot-on with their downtown location, and no wonder it’s got that Michelin Guide stamp of approval!

If you’re into ramen, you’ve gotta check this place out! The broth is insanely rich and packed with flavor, and it definitely stands out from the crowd. Highly,...

There was a time that the only reason I wanted to head downtown Toronto was for good quality ramen. That's not necessary anymore, because my absolute favourite ramen restaurant in Toronto (Hokkaido Santouka Ramen) just opened a new location in the bustling Midland/Finch corridor (Scarborough Village). Zangi (Fried Chicken) - $12.45 A yummy appetizer to start the meal. Small nitpick with the smoky taste of the crispy skin but the chicken was tender and juicy in every bite size. Shio Ramen & Grilled Salmon Bowl combo - $22.85 Large size ($1.75 more), you can choose size of ramen bowl, saltiness and level of lard of broth, as well as springiness (texture) of the ramen noodle. Made perfectly and delicious on a cold day like today. The grilled salmon rice bowl was a nice complement to the umani flavours of the ramen bowl. My absolute go-to and good to share between 2. We finally have a good ramen spot up in the suburbs. Looking forward to many regular visits to come!
