I came here for the dinner with my 67-year-old dad, my 15month baby and my husband today. There were two waitresses on duty. There wasn’t a lot of tables being served, but as we arrived around 6pm and after sitting for 15 min, there was zero service - neither of them came with hot water or tea or explained how we should look at the menu or anything. I urged some hot water for my dad after 15-20min and one of the waitresses (the younger lady on duty) came without any good face to handle some hot tea. I didn’t explain more and there still wasn’t any service explaining to us how to order things on the menu. I urged again to the other waitress and she just said with poker face that all fishes were bigger than 3lbs. Anyhow, we ordered something on the menu without a lot of knowledge and the server didn’t come to attend us timely from the very beginning to the end, knowing we have a baby and a senior gentleman here. Two of the items we ordered never came and we had to cancel one of them, not to mention the fresh tofu we ordered was sour already. Requested by my dad, they did not charge the sour tofu. In the end, when we asked for bill, it took another 20min.
I spent nearly $170 dollars on the dinner and I will...
Read moreThe cooking method is pretty unique and the end product tasted pretty good and kinda similar to the cantonese fish soup if you know what i mean. Now I totally understand why a lot of people have given this place a low score due to 1. its incoherent positioning (average cost per person can easily exceed $50 while the whole restaurant doesn’t feel high-end at all and that it’s located in an average neighbourhood), 2. its poor pricing model (the same sea bass fish does cost way less at the supermarket with the same quality, usually $30ish for the whole fish at the supermarket while it’s $70-80 here at the restaurant), and 3. its unclear pricing (they don’t usually show you all the items you have ordered, instead they just give you a bill with the total amount and expect you to believe that’s the right amount). Overall, it’s still a pretty decent experience for me because I am a taste-first guy and the prices were alright for...
Read moreI've had hot pot before but this is my first time ever having steamed fish hot pot. I tagged along with a friend and her family to see some friends. The friend ordered everything and we had Korean pickled radish, sweet and sour baby octopus, chicken gizzard, cucumber, fried shrimp, and some kind of fried chicken as appetizers. I don't generally like fish but the steed fish wasn't overly flavoured or smelly - they showed it to us alive before they chopped it up for the pot - and was a nice, mellow taste. The second round was my favourite, where they used the broth created by the steamed fish to boil cabbage, watercress, meatballs, lamb, beef, and cabbage like the hot pot I've had before. Overall, the food was great and the service was attentive. I would definitely recommend anyone wanting to try...
