We first tried Impact Kitchen on Adelaide a few weeks ago. They were recommended by our gym so we thought it would make a great, healthy lunch option.
The first time we went, we enjoyed our lunch tremendously, we bought the most delicious granola as well as some baked goods.
We went to their Yonge St. Location a couple weeks later to pick up some baked goods and more granola and had no issues.
We decided to go to the Adelaide location for lunch today and to pick up more granola and were left with a horrible experience.
My husband wanted the chicken pesto wrap. The cashier said that they were out of wraps so we asked if they had bread, which was available. We then asked them to just make it into a sandwich instead of a wrap. She said they can’t do that!
WHAT??? You have the ingredients, you have bread; just slap the damn ingredients in between two slices of bread and call it a sandwich!!!
We tried to clarify that we were just asking them to take the ingredients that they put in the wrap and put it on some bread instead but the cashier said she had to ask if that was possible. So she asked someone else who then came to the cash register and took over. The next woman said that he could order a different sandwich instead, but he wanted the chicken pesto; he had that wrap before and loved it so he wanted it again. She then said she would have to check if it was possible to make it a sandwich, but came back and said that they do have a few wraps so we ordered the wrap and a bowl for me. We also ordered a smoothie, some granola and some baked goods to take home.
We were given a table number and we went to sit down. After about 10 minutes, the smoothie arrived, my bowl arrived, but my husband’s wrap didn’t arrive. We waited for about 20 more minutes but it still had not arrived so I pulled out the receipt, and we found that the wrap wasn’t added to the order at all!
My husband went up to the counter and mentioned to the woman who cashed us out that she forgot to put the wrap on the bill. She said “oops, I missed that”! Which is unbelievable considering the whole discussion about making the wrap into a sandwich. She then said she would get it ready and my husband could go to the cash and pay for the wrap. He said he didn’t want it anymore since I was almost finished my lunch. He sat back down at the table and someone came by to ask how everything was. My husband said “actually it sucked, because I never got my food.” To which she replied “sorry” and walked away. We then got up and left the restaurant with a very hangry diabetic man who ended up having one of the baked goods which isn’t a good plan for him, not matter how healthy they are.
Now, everybody is entitled to make a mistake. What makes a happy customer (and prevents a bad review) is how the mistake is handled. This mistake was atrociously handled which is why I have posted this negative review.
At no point did anyone say “That wasn’t handled very well, let me get a manager to help you out here” which would have smoothed out the whole situation. Instead, we left the restaurant with a terrible experience and don’t want to go back, if that is how the staff are instructed to handle issues that come up. The staff just don’t seem to care about how they do their jobs and customer service is completely lacking. Who is training these people? Why does it seem like rocket science to make a wrap into a sandwich, when you have run out of wraps? Why don’t the staff have the presence of mind to grab a manager when a customer is unhappy with their experience?
We spent about $500 at the two locations over the past few weeks and would have made Impact Kitchen a regular lunch and treat spot. Now we won’t even recommend them to anyone because of the terrible way they handled their mistake.

Okay, let’s just start with this: if you’re looking for food that actually makes you feel good after eating (like, genuinely nourished instead of instantly bloated), Impact Kitchen is the SPOT.
They’ve got a menu that’s basically a love letter to anyone with food allergies, health goals, or a borderline obsession with clean eating. Everything’s 100% gluten-free ✅, no shady seed oils ❌, no refined sugars ❌—just pure, wholesome fuel that your body and taste buds will thank you for.
Personal faves? • The breakfast bagel = perfection. 🥯 • The paleo waffles = crispy outside, fluffy inside, sweet without the sugar crash. 🧇 • Protein cookie = I’m not saying it changed my life… but I’m also not not saying that. 🍪 • Zesty Mexican Power Bowl = flavor explosion. Mic drop. 🌶️
Their protein balls are basically little round miracles. ⚡ And don’t even get me started on the camo matcha—so smooth, so frothy, so green it feels healthy just looking at it. 🍵
The vibe? Totally chill. Whether you’re looking to plug in and work 💻, recover post-gym 🏋️♀️, or catch up with friends ☕, they’ve got the ambiance nailed. Spacious seating, cool energy, and that sweet spot between café and wellness sanctuary.
Staff = 10/10 angels. Super helpful with allergies and always smiling. You get the feeling they actually care, which is rarer than a good gluten-free croissant these days. 👼
Yes, it’s a bit pricy 💸, but honestly, for the quality, ingredients, and care they put into every bite? Worth. Every. Penny.
Bottom line: whether you’re paleo, plant-based, or just trying to eat like an adult who doesn’t think Doritos are a food group (no judgment), Impact Kitchen slaps. Hard.
Support local ❤️, eat clean 🥗, vibe high ✨. I’ll def be grubbing here again—probably tomorrow.
11/10. Would...
