I recently visited this Indian restaurant and had one of the worst dining experiences ever. The atmosphere was very poor â it felt unwelcoming and uncomfortable. The customer service was absolutely unacceptable. No one checked on us even once; we had to wave the server down every single time just to get basic things like water or napkins.
We ordered several dishes â Paneer Butter Masala, Mutton Masala Curry, Crispy Corns, Raita, and soups â and almost everything was a disaster. Paneer Butter Masala was literally water with a few pieces of paneer floating in it. No richness, no taste â just disappointment. Mutton Masala Curry, which the server suggested as mild, was extremely spicy and hard to eat. Raita was nothing but water. I was dipping naan into it and it just soaked up like a sponge. Soups tasted like instant packet soups. Crispy Corns, which were supposed to be an appetizer, arrived halfway through our main course. When we asked the server why, his rude response was, âOh, it takes time because we fry them â you should know that.â
On top of that, when I politely asked for a separate to-go container for naan (since my friend had put curry in the one we got), the server dismissively said, âThatâs fine, put it in the curry bowl.â That attitude really summed up the service â careless and disrespectful.
This type of food quality and service creates a terrible reputation for Indian taste, Indian culture, and Indian hospitality. Indian cuisine is known for warmth, flavor, and care â none of that was reflected here. Itâs sad because Canadian hospitality is actually wonderful; people here go out of their way to make guests feel welcome. This restaurant fails on every front and gives a completely wrong impression of what Indian food and service should be.
Overall, it felt like they just wanted us to leave â no quality control, no basic courtesy, and food that had no resemblance to authentic Indian taste. Totally not worth the money or time. I would never recommend this...
Read moreMy recent visit to Indraprastha was a bit of a mixed bag. Drawn in by a craving for Indian food, I was hopeful but found the experience had some highs and some notable lows.
First impressions were a little off-putting. The front door was difficult to open due to what seemed like a negative air pressure issue, which should probably be addressed. Once inside, the dining room itself was clean and had a decent aesthetic. The menu offered a wide variety of dishes, which was impressive. I started with the Guntur Chilli Chicken, which the server kindly warned me was spicyâa heads-up I appreciated. The dish arrived quickly, but it was just okay. While it had a good kick of heat, it lacked a deeper, more complex flavour, and the chicken itself had an inconsistent texture, with some pieces being tough and others tender. 5/10
For my main course, I ordered the Chicken Kadai. This was a definite improvement. The dish had a great blend of onion and spices, and the heat level was enjoyable and well-balanced. It was a flavourful and satisfying entree. 6/10
However, a major issue that took away from the dining experience was the numerous fly traps hanging from the ceiling throughout the dining room. This was a complete turn-off and made it difficult to fully enjoy the meal.
Overall, the food was a decent experience, and the service was good. But the issues with the door and, most importantly, the presence of the fly traps, detracted significantly from what could have been a great meal. A few key improvements could elevate this restaurant from just "okay" to a truly...
