My family and I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious, a new and different taste for us. We got the Mushtanda Tandoori Wings to start, they were about mild Spicy for some who aren’t a big fan of Spice, so it was tolerable and very good. We got two goat Karahi’s; the Potohari Goat Karihi, and the Chardi Goat Karahi. We were 4 people in total, and were recommended that the half size would be a good portion for 2 people, so we got both plates for the half portion size. Both were very delicious; we enjoyed the Potohari as we felt it had a much more softer taste while the Namak was stronger and a bit more spicier. However both very delicious. We also got the chicken dum biriyani, it was a good portion for the 4 of us, along with the other two dishes - a very delicious dish as well, we felt the spice a bit more in this dish. We were offered yogurt as well (which helped with the spiciness- so thank you to the young man whom brought it to us!). We got the tandoori roti with butter, and a mango lassi drink which was a perfect touch. We did have a bit left over from each of the three main dishes which we brought home, so we thought we could have gotten just one of the Karahi’s. Food wise, restaurant design and ambience is very lovely. The service was great as well, but I felt it could have been a bit better. There is a bit of a wait time for the food (We assume is because of how and the time the dishes may take to prepare) but we thought to take our order it did take quite some time and perhaps they could have let us know the food may take some time to come out (and it would come all at once). We were also offered tea at the end which we accepted but it never came. I would come back and do recommend it having in mind it’s not a...
Read moreDuring my visit to Toronto on January 5th 2025, my family and I decided to dine at Karahi Boys on Queen Street Toronto. Initially, my family wanted to take me to Shaheen Kebab, but I suggested Karahi Boys as I had an exceptional experience with them during my visit to the U.S. I was eager to share that experience, but unfortunately, this visit was deeply disappointing.
Seven of us arrived at the restaurant at 12 PM, excited and ready for a great meal. We ordered a variety of dishes and drinks, with the highlight being the large Charsi Gosht Karahi, which I had hyped up based on my previous experience in the States. However, to our shock, the Karahi arrived with a hair in it. We had to send it back, and when it returned, the meat tasted raw because it hadn’t been cooked with the sauce long enough.
The service was equally frustrating. Drinks arrived late, and the staff’s attentiveness was lacking. Apart from one instance when a server asked if the Lahori fish kebab was okay, no one checked on us. Even after the hair incident with the Karahi, no one followed up to ensure everything was satisfactory. The restaurant was nearly empty, yet we had to constantly wave down the servers for attention.
To top it off, once we finished our meal, all the dirty plates were left on the table. No one came to offer desserts or clear the table. It felt like we were at a completely different restaurant than the one I remembered so fondly from the States.
Despite this terrible experience, I still paid a 15% service charge, but I left deeply disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend the Karahi Boys on Queen Street in Toronto to anyone. It’s a shame that the Toronto location doesn’t live up to the standards...
Read moreI’ve been to this Karahi Boys location several times in the past and always had a good experience - but our most recent visit was extremely disappointing.
Right from the start, even though the restaurant wasn’t busy, we were made to wait in the entrance area for no reason. It honestly felt like they were trying to create the impression that they were crowded.
When we finally got seated (outside), it took a very long time just to get someone to take our order - we had to ask for service multiple times. The table we were given was also wobbly, and even after we asked for it to be fixed, it remained unstable. I eventually started trying to adjust it myself because no one was around to help, which is when the waiter suddenly rushed over apologizing repeatedly.
The food was also subpar this time. The biryani was cold, and the rice was stiff, like it had been sitting out for a while. Definitely not the quality we’ve experienced before.
To make matters worse, when the waiter brought our bill, he immediately pushed us to pay while we were still packing our leftovers. Then, while I was paying, he started pressuring my partner to leave a Google review with his name on it. We explained that we’ve dined here many times and had already left a review in the past, but he kept insisting. It was extremely uncomfortable - he literally stood over us until my partner said we’d do it later just so he would walk away.
Very unprofessional and desperate behavior from the staff. After this experience, we won’t be returning. Management really needs to retrain their servers on customer service and...
