I’ve been coming to King Slice for over 10 years, and for a long time it was nothing short of legendary. After concerts, after games—King Slice was always the staple stop. The slices were massive, the dough was consistent, and quality was never in doubt. It truly lived up to its name as one of Toronto’s pizza institutions. But unfortunately, something has changed. About six months ago, I visited the Queen St. location and noticed a massive stack of pre-made pizza shells. Not fresh dough waiting to be stretched, but par-baked shells. At the time, I thought maybe it was just an efficiency move to keep up with high volumes, which both locations have always dealt with. But as soon as I picked up my slice, I knew it wasn’t the same. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, thinking it might’ve been a one-off. But after eating again and hoping it would be different, it’s official—the King has fallen. The dough now tastes like thin flatbread, closer to a PC frozen pizza crust than the legendary King Slice base I remember. On top of that, the sauce and cheese portions feel stripped back, leaving the slice flat and lifeless compared to what it once was. It’s game over for this once-beloved pizza place unless the owners course-correct. King Slice built its reputation on quality, not just volume. If efficiency has taken priority over authenticity, then the “kingdom” is in serious danger of collapse. Toronto deserves the real King Slice back.

King Slice Pizza and Pasta is a cool pizzeria known for its delicious selection of pizzas and pastas, but what truly makes the experience special is the amazing service provided by their employee, Kal. From the moment you walk in, Kal’s warm and friendly personality makes you feel instantly welcome. She’s not only professional but genuinely passionate about ensuring every customer leaves happy and satisfied. During my visit, I tried their Margherita special pizza — and it was absolutely fire! But what stood out even more than the food was Kal’s attention to detail. She personally checked to make sure my order was perfect and that everything met the restaurant’s high quality standards. Her hospitable nature and caring attitude made my dining experience feel personal and memorable. Kal embodies what true customer service should be — attentive, polite, and always smiling. It’s rare to find someone who takes such pride in their work, and she truly elevates the King Slice Pizza and Pasta brand. Because of her professionalism and warmth, I would love to visit again and again. The brand should be proud to have employees like Kal who genuinely care about their customers and make every visit feel special.

I recently checked out King Slice in West Toronto after hearing quite a bit of buzz, and it definitely lived up to the hype. I opted for slices instead of a full pizza so I could try more varieties and ended up going with the margherita, deluxe, pepperoni, and arrabbiata. All four were excellent, but the margherita and arrabbiata stood out as my favourites—surprisingly so, since I usually lean toward meat options. The slices are massive—literally hanging off the plate—and the sauce was rich, flavourful, and tied everything together nicely. The arrabbiata, in particular, had a great balance of ingredients, including mushrooms and jalapeños, with just the right amount of heat to make it interesting without being overpowering. The spot is perfect for a casual grab-and-go meal, especially if you’re heading to a park or want to enjoy a laid-back bite outside. The quality, portion size, and flavour make it a place I’ll definitely be returning to. Highly recommend if you’re in the area and craving great pizza.

King Slice was highly recommended to me by a friend. My first order was a deluxe pizza and it was delicious. However, I would like to share a genuine concern I have regarding the customer service demonstrated by one of the employees at King Slice on Queen St. West after my second visit.

On September 13th, 2025, around 10:26pm, the lady at cash who took my orders at the time was dark skinned with long curly hair. It was my second visit so I knew what to order. However, when I said that I would like to place two orders with the first one being a deluxe pizza with garlic oil, uncut, with creamy garlic dip, the lady suddenly interrupted me and said that she “can’t memorize all that”. She told me to just mention what I wanted to order then she would ask me other things afterward.

The lady’s communication was rude and she made me feel rushed, but I gave her the benefit of a doubt. I reiterated that I wanted a deluxe pizza. She asked if I wanted anything else. I said garlic oil and requested that the pizza remain uncut. She then asked what my second order was. I said chicken cacciatore. She then processed my orders for payment. I did not have the chance to ask for drinks and creamy garlic dip. My order was incomplete and I felt uncomfortable and rushed with the transaction following our interaction.

I understand the lady may have been busy, but I still expect someone working in customer service and a fast-paced high pressure environment to demonstrate patience, memorization skills, and friendly communication. I don’t know how the lady regularly behaves and operates at cash in King Slice on Queen St. West, or if there is a staffing issue with the organization, but my situation was not handled in a patient, understanding, and professional manner. Her behavior does not meet the standards of...

Changing review from 5 star to 1 star due to rude customer service & inconsistency of pizza - particularly less sauce put on the pizza & the pizza slica was DRY ! Tried to talk nicely to the woman (with curly hair), regarding my concern but was IMMEDIATELY cut off without me finishing my statement & was told off “i can put only this much sauce “ I literally left without talking further as I didn’t want to further spoil my spoilt Sunday night!! Moreover she literally drowned our pizza in parsley oil , you are just supposed to spread it not pour a bowl over it ! We had to drip the oil off & eat our slice! Pathetic

We went to Bloor street King Pizza & boom the pizza was perfect with the right amount of sauce !

8 $ for a pizza slice is NOT a effin’ joke dude!! If you take money, give us quality, consistency & trained professional staff!

A non-chef Rude lady taking orders is NOT we would expect!!

I am so grateful to the guy who made a Perfect pizza slice late night last Sunday!!

I hope the Manager/ Owner reads this & takes this seriously & talk to this woman!

Previous review: What an absolute gem of a place !!

Thin crisp base, fresh juicy tomato 🍅 sauce 🌿 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻 loaded on, with a free add on of garlic parsley olive oil & chilli flakes… Aaaah, absolutely Delightful 🥹 !!

Thank you King Slice for making our Sunday better, hope when we come next time, the sauce & the slice remains the same !! Kuddos to tonight’s teamwork 👏♥️

PS- Want to skip BIG crazy line of Badiali’s ??!!!! COME Here.. you def won’t regret it🫣🫠

Also a secret- i found it better than...

Best Pizza I have ever had and I was raised in NYC. We tried this little hole in the wall on our last full day in Toronto and boy am I mad we didn’t go sooner. I would have loved to have had their pizza more than once during our visit. The shop is small with limited seating. We arrived around 8:30pm on a Sunday night. The line was consistently at or out the front door. There were two young ladies working the joint. One at the register the other making pizza. When I say these two young ladies were expertly cooking and serving-I was extremely impressed! The line moved so quickly. They have 4 or maybe it’s 5 specialties that you can purchase by the slice. Each slice is Can$6.10. These are not your average slices of pizza. They are HUGE!!! Maybe 2 1/2 times larger than a typical slice of NY style pizza. The crust is thin and lightly crisp. The toppings are fresh. Then there’s this herb drizzle that they put on it right before they box it for you. Yummmm!!! We ordered all of them (except the one with mushrooms and jalapeños) plus a meatball sandwich that we ended up giving away because we were too full to try it. The deluxe was hubby’s favorite (pepperoni, bell peppers, extra cheese) and the Margarita was mine (cheese only-not sure why it has that name). We had another one that was really good only issue was the hunks of garlic cloves-that was too much for me. Toronto seems to have a pizza spot on every corner. If you are ever in the Toronto area…skip pass all of them and make your way straight to King Slice. You...
