The worst location possible with the worst service! I am shocked that they are so stingy here with zero care for customers! First of all, the lady at the register did not feel the need to clarify the menu, even when I informed her that I wanted rice and chicken, that's all. She said that I'm asking for the platter. I then told her that I wanted the plain rice and the chicken, again, and she still said that I am asking for the platter. I thought I should just agree with her as she works there so she knows the terminology. When she started to make my order, I realized that the rice was different so I asked her and she said that it's lentil rice which is what I ordered. I explained to her that I ordered plain rice and she began to throw a fit and kept telling me that I wanted the lentil rice. I repeated that I ordered plain rice and chicken and that's it, I didn't even know of the lentil rice. Another lady intervened and asked me what I wanted. I clarified and she began remaking my order. While she's doing that, the lady kept muttering that she should have apologized to me and just remake my order but the initial lady was insisting that she will not apologize to me! What kind of customer service is that? I didn't throw a fit, nor did I create a scene, so what is her excuse for her behaviour? Because I corrected her and that was too much for her ego? The lady was so petty, that even when she over charged me, as I later realized I technically ordered "chicken on the rocks, with rice", she barely put any chicken in my order and a few squirts of the sauce, leaving the order dry and much to be desired. The customer after me ordered the same thing and he had a mound of meat on top! The little chicken in my order was so dry, I had to stop eating because my jaw hurt! The salad was appalling, with stale lettuce and the dusty crumbs of the fried pita. I have had their fattoush salad from another location before and my order did not look ANYTHING LIKE THAT! I'm so disappointed in the service and quality of food that I will make sure no one from my office nor my home will be going in to order from this location! People should be aware of the awful service and the poor quality of food they provide here. You will see the difference if you go to any other location!!

Lazeez Shawarma, situated in Thorncliffe, is a standout shawarma spot that deserves high praise. My recent visit left me thoroughly satisfied and eager to share my positive experience. Walking into Lazeez Shawarma, I was immediately greeted by the inviting ambiance and friendly staff. The atmosphere was cozy, and the service was prompt and attentive. The menu presented a wide selection of shawarma options, and I opted for their signature chicken shawarma platter. The chicken in the platter was succulent and bursting with flavor. It was perfectly cooked and seasoned, showcasing the expertise of the chefs. The platter came with a generous portion of chicken, along with a delightful array of fresh vegetables, fluffy rice, and warm pita bread. The combination of textures and flavors was delightful, making each bite a true pleasure. What impressed me most about Lazeez Shawarma was the quality of their ingredients. Everything tasted fresh, and the attention to detail was evident in each component of the dish. The garlic sauce provided a tangy kick that elevated the overall taste experience. While the food was exceptional, I did encounter a slight issue with the portion size. Although the flavors were on point, I felt that the platter could have been a bit more generous. Nonetheless, it was still a satisfying meal, leaving me content and satisfied. The prices at Lazeez Shawarma are reasonable, considering the quality and taste they offer. The restaurant’s cleanliness and hygiene standards were also commendable, adding to the overall positive experience. In conclusion, Lazeez Shawarma in Thorncliffe is a fantastic spot for shawarma enthusiasts. With their flavorful chicken, fresh ingredients, and attentive service, it’s no wonder this place has gained popularity. While there might be some room for improvement in portion sizes, the overall dining experience is definitely worth a visit. I highly recommend Lazeez Shawarma for a delicious and satisfying meal.

Ordered through Uber eats around 1:30AM, 50 minutes pass the order time they still weren’t ready with my order. I personally contacted my Uber eats driver he said he was also waiting for my order for over 10 minutes at this location. My question is why is making a shawarma plate taking 50 minutes? Isn’t shawarma meat always cooked and ready ? Just to make sure I called the store and they said they were not too busy for dine in. I tried canceling my order like after 30 minutes but couldn’t cancel because it kept saying restaurant is done making my order when in reality I had to wait an hour ++ for a shwarma plate. Other than that, they don’t have any safety measures for their food delivery, no “seal breakage” stickers or anything of that sort so there’s no way to know if my order has been tempered with. Regardless of everything, the chicken portion was so so small, absolutely unacceptable.

proceed with caution if you want to eat here.

before I leave a review, I want to say I’ve ordered three times from this place before and didn’t have a problem.

with that said, I ordered last week and this time it was completely different. immediately after consuming the food, I experienced symptoms of food poisoning and this lasted for hours. i felt better after vomiting and getting it out of my system, but continued to deal with chills and diarrhea.

I wanted to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt. however, after a few google searches, you will find that Lazeez Shawarma has had a history with health and safety violations at some of their locations and this includes a TIKTOK video that went viral in December of an employee improperly handling meat and mixing raw chicken with cooked (Google Reviews won’t let you paste URL but it’s online).

there are several Reddit threads with hundreds of posts detailing different experiences of food poisoning across various Lazeez Shawarma locations in the GTA. some have also highlighted that a few of the franchises have had numerous health inspection visits since 2019.

it’s also pathetic how management is writing these reviews and experiences off as either “fake reviews” and trying to dismiss them. there’s hundreds of posts and comments online aside from these Google reviews echoing the same issues of food poisoning and bad experiences after eating from this place.

I suggest people do their research and take precaution when eating at this place. clearly something is up and management should have some guts and address these concerns before this place is shutdown.

to management, stop being scared and writing these reviews off. grow up and address criticism because people getting sick over food that you take pride in serving is pathetic and sooner than later, you will deal with some harsh...
