I had been waiting to go to Mariachi's for more than a year and I must say I was disappointed. First of all, I absolutely understand that weekends are the busiest and we cannot make reservations, however we were informed that we cannot get a table for 8 people until all 8 had arrived and they were not willing to hold the table for 10 minutes either. Finally we had to get 2 separate tables. We had accepted that as well, however we were not served or spoken to for at least 20 minutes, each request to call the server / for napkins had to be reminded at least 3 times. After the meal, which turned out to be great, we were informed that the bill cannot be split as per the individuals' orders, we were left to calculate our shares with 1 bill. Post which we were told we cannot use the tap service, and had to insert our code.

This was upsetting, as after meeting our friends, who were seated at another table, we were informed that they did not face this ordeal at all, their tap was working, they received individual bills. While standing outside the restaurant we came across another couple who were complaining about a similar experience.

So while the 2 stars are only for the great food that we had, the customer service was extremely bad, which has forced me to write this review about a restaurant I had been waiting to visit for at least 2 years, and I absolutely do not see...

I ate here with a large party, it was exceptionally good and tasty food. I highly rec. this place even though there was one food item that was flat out very bad. The salad we had was spiked with a truck load of salt and I didn't realize it until after I had eaten half a portion. The taste of salt overpowered my mouth and basically ruined the good Mexican food after taste. I couldn't be bothered to tell the chef then and there because I had to run next door for a gelatto sp? to soothe the fire in my mouth.

The service was okay / sub-par. We had guacamole & basket of very delicious deep fried hot chips, so good. We had a bit of guac. left and I asked could we have three more chips. Bus-boy lady said sure and brought us a whole basket, okay, then I get billed for $2.50 or something. Now, I'm not surprised they would not bring me three free chips but at least TELL ME so I can then refuse the extra basket of chips, I would like some CHOICE in the matter. I thought the bill was a bit high but well worth it.

Sounds like I had a terrible experience but seriously, the food is so good and the patio is so nice that I am...

The food was okay and the staff were all very friendly but service was quite slow. It took a while for our drinks and food to come out. Pretty much everyone at the table got their dishes but two of our friends had not gotten their dishes. We assumed that their food was on the way. Finally, we knew something was wrong so we asked and they asked us what dishes we had ordered. It seemed like they hadn’t even punched our orders in.

We got the guacamole which is okay. We also got the corn (elotes) and we were shocked. They were tiny!!!!! It seemed like they had cut the top part of each corn to serve this dish.

We also got the shrimp fajita dish and I was shocked again. Usually, fajita dishes come with all the fixings (salsa, an assortment of veggies, etc). Ours came with cheese, sour cream and lettuce and three tortillas. When we asked for more tortillas, we were charged for each tortilla. The prices were not bad but not worth it for the food we received. Probably will not go back again.

The atmosphere and the restaurant itself was cute and unique. The workers were all super friendly and...

Disappointingly mediocre low quality ingredients - slightly better than Taco Bell. Sounds harsh I know, but the food was that bland. I got the East LA, which was a combination of a chicken chimichanga and a beef burrito with tomato sauce and cheese, as well as some salad and rice. The main problem was that a lot of it was flavourless: the tomato sauce, the cheese, the beef, the rice...none of the flavours stood out, so I suspect some of those ingredients were low quality or maybe canned or frozen. Zero spice too, although they did offer a Habanero sauce that was pretty good. As for the chicken, it was better but it was dry and super salty - its texture reminded me of something prepackaged and frozen. The salad was the quality you'd get from a sushi take-out place. Overall, it was a good-sized portion but definitely not worth the $21 I spent. There's better Mexican places in the area: La Carnita and Playa Cabana on Eglinton are about the same price, and honestly even the Chipotle a little further north on Yonge somehow has more flavourful food at cheaper prices.

I went with a friend and exploring around the yonge and finch area until we landed at this restaurant. The patio was too hard to resist especially with the great weather. Great customer service, music and vibe is on point. And lastly the food was amazing!

I’ve spent the last 6 months in lockdown walking past this restaurant, so we decided to stop by on a Tuesday night to check out the food, margs, and patio. I don’t typically have mixed drinks at home, so the first sip (ok the whole glass) of this margarita was delightful! It was fresh, sour, salty, tequila-ry goodness! Just what I needed. I ordered the east LA, and asked to switch out one of the proteins. They did switch it out, but the wrong one 😢 However, the carnita chimichanga and the beef burrito (East LA) we’re still delicious-if not just a little dry (especially the chimichanga). The rice portion was small (and somewhat over cooked) but I didn’t got there for the rice. My other half ordered the steak fajitas, and while the steak portion was great (and delicious), he was disappointed with the sides. 3 small flour tortilla’s and a sprinkle of cheese and sour cream. He’s a big eater, so he was still hungry even though it was delicious. All in all, the meal was good but the margaritas were great! We’ll definitely go back to try it again.
