I recently ordered from Masala Guys through the Kitchen Hub app, and I was pleasantly surprised! To be honest it's difficult to anticipate what we will receive when we are ordering online as it often does not live up to the quality of what you would expect to find in a restaurant. In the case of Kitchen Hub they outsource and arrange for either delivery or pick up from different restaurants in the city. As such I was even more hesitant because there are multiple steps involved here in ensuring that your food arrives in time and of the same quality from the restaurant.
I ordered the half tandoori chicken and the butter chicken dishes on this occasion as pictured. First of all, I was very impressed at the packaging as everything was well sealed to ensure that no leakage occurred. This is a must have!! Secondly the staff at kitchen hub were great and the pick up was seamless.
Now to the food itself: The half chicken was a generous portion although I do like a bit more of a char on my tandoori chicken. This also came with condiments and a salad which was a nice touch! The butter chicken wasn't the best butter chicken I've ever had, although the taste was pretty good. Overall it would appeal to those who who aren't familiar with the original and authentic butter chicken (no offence). It's a very tomato forward sauce without the creaminess and unctuousness of a traditional butter chicken. Overall the dishes were satisfying...

Decided to give Masala Guys a try via door dash and I was actually blown away! I ordered the combo #1 for about $20 and I couldn't believe the portions and quality of food!
For $20 you get your choice of curry and side, along with rice and Naan. I opted for the butter chicken, which was delicious - ample serving with gravy brimming to the rim and tender chunks of boneless chicken breast throughout. I chose samosas as my side and was pleasantly surprised to see they give not 1 but 4 samosas, which were actually some of the best I've ever had! Crisp, buttery pastry that's dusted in a savory seasoning, filled with a delicious mix of potatoes, vegetables, and spices.
Now the real cherry on top for me was the absolutely gigantic Naan! I'm not sure if the pictures do it justice but it was huge! It had amazing texture and flavor which you can only get if they make them fresh in house.
Overall, absolutely no complaints on my end. I haven't been to the restaurant so I'm not sure about seating and from other reviewers it seems like a shared kitched and more of a takeout/delivery spot.
That said, I'll definitely be ordering again and masala guys will likely...
Read moreI'm not sure how this place has gotten such a high review. I went in during lunch for a quick bite. I went with butter chicken, the quintessential "Indian" dish. There were 4-5 pieces of stringy chicken doused in the waterest sauce I'd ever tasted. The food wasnt even hot and definitely not "medium spiced". It came with some plain rice, lettuce with red peppers and dressing (I'd hesitate to call that a salad) and some naan. The naan was freshly made and quite tasty, just like I'd expect in an indian restaurant. The staff was sweet, but for the ridiculous price of 12.45 I would not return here. Plenty of great options in the annex; this just ain't one of them.
P.s. also, why was the "for here" option served with a plastic fork and a "to...
