Mascot Brewery is situated across from Roy Thompson Hall and steps away from St. Andrew Station. They have an open basement bar that consists of bar stools and long communal tables, providing ample seating and standing room for customers. Sad to say, we would only come back for a quick drink and not for the appetizers. During our visit, we had a minor hiccup with our reservation of 16 people and were initially assigned a significantly smaller table that could comfortably accommodate only 10. Fortunately, the manager and on-site staff were quick to mend our situation as the table could not fit 16 seated comfortably. The service and staff were great! We felt well taken care of with their attentive customer service, especially in addressing our initial reservation issue. If you're visiting Mascot Brewery, only go for their beer, as the appetizers ordered were very disappointing. The menu included a variety of appetizers, including Teriyaki Burnt Ends, Bang Bang Cauliflower, a Cheese board, Truffle fries, Brussel sprouts, and Mascot fries. The quality and taste of the food were lacking, either overseasoned or poorly cooked. The Teriyaki Burnt Ends were very literal and did not really appeal to us. The Brussel Sprouts, particularly, were tossed in an excessively salty gochujang sauce. The fries, too, were lacking in crispiness and were somewhat soggy. We would have loved to enjoy the appetizers but the taste, quality and quantity were not worth the value at full price. Another note though, maybe an off-day but the mixed gin and ginger ale tasted pretty diluted and resembled carbonated water.

A group of friends brought me here for my birthday. They said it was for a drag brunch which I was very excited about because it was my first one. it being on King Street and with the million options (even during covid) of brunch places in the city I had high hopes, but this place must have one the worst brunches I have ever had, or I had way too many expectations. It might not be Mascot's fault, because it was a new event and they might have only been hosting it, but this could give the brewery a bad name. The show "Divas Live, The drag brunch" was more divas than actual brunch. There were about 5 options for food, overpriced for what it was. An egg sandwich on a burger bun served on paper plates and plastic cutlery (see picture). They mention or advertise vegan and vegetarian options and let me tell you that if you don't want to pay 12 bucks for an avocado toast that is smaller than the palm of your hand... eat at home before heading here. A total rip off on the brunch considering you also have to pay admission. Pancakes looked good, only item that seemed decent enough. On the other hand, drinks are standard and the service people are extremely nice. The drag show was amazing and the queens were very approachable and funny, completely recommend on that sense (tip your queens)... just have brunch somewhere else before heading to see the show. I will not be coming back.

Don't let the photos fool you - while the patio and some cocktails look nice, the service, food quality, and interior decor leave a lot to be desired. My partner and I sat down st 6:30pm to grab a bite and a drink before catching a musical next door. After waiting nearly 10 minutes for anybody to approach the host stand, we were seated to wait another 10 minutes before any server showed up. After explaining our desire for a drink and quick appetizer, we took the server's recommendation of the fries, deep fried cauliflower, and karage (and mentioned to send it as they were ready). Believe me when I say that the fries took almost 25 minutes to arrive...and we paid approximately $14 for a small bowl of fries (see photos). The karage was admittedly very tasty, and the cauliflower was awful. I find it very hard to recommend this place, especially during a weekday evening. Maybe they'll staff better over the summer when their patio is in full service, as it's clearly the selling point of their Google profile. Mascot definitely needs to step it up, as there are plenty of other spots along King that are more worth your time and money.

This was my first time in Mascot Brewery and I really liked it. It is located in a bust district with lots of restaurants and bars around and compared to all thos places I found this place more casual and less noisy which is a real bonus.

Our host Molly was amazing !! She was there whenever we had any questions and provided us lots of useful information, very kind, friendly and fast.

I had one flight of 4 beers. Normally a flight consists of several 3 to 5-ounce pours from a draft beer dispensing system. This is great if you want to taste a bunch of different varieties.Their affordable cost and customizable experience are why flights are so appealing. In Mascot Brewery each glass in flight costs between 3.25 to 3.75 CAD based on the variety. They have some beers which are always in their menu and some seasonal varieties.

The flight come in 4 glasses in a wooden base. We were served 4 beers which were link up, screwface, chocolate daddy and haze IPA. It goes from light to strong one on the base.

Link up is brewed from RYE MALT which gives it a bready base, it has a distinct grapefruit flavour to it. It is 5% ABV, very pleasant to drink. It is pretty cool that some of proceeds from this beer is donated.

Screwface is ABV: 6.5%. It us west coast India beer with fruity taste mostly grapefruit, blackcurrant. Stronger then "link up" variety, yummy taste.

Chocolate daddy is a strong one with 6.6% ABV. It is dark in color, tastes dark chocolate like also coffee and fruity taste. Feels very strong taste in first sip but gets very pleasant once you continue drinking.

Haze IPA has 5.7% ABV. Thus one has the strongest taste and also after taste for me. It sure will please string beer fans.

I liked all the beers I tried here !! The establishment is fantastic. This is definitely the kind of place that I would go with my friends to drink beer and have some bites from their menu in a clean and comfortable environment where I can actually hear them and can speak in a normal volume. Plenty of tables and chairs in this brewery as well.

I will keep in mind that they are closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Overall it was great experience. Thanks to our host and Molly and our yelp organizers for all...

Before I start the review, I have to tell you the back story first. My wife and I went to Toronto for a concert yesterday (we’re from Buffalo, NY). We got a recommendation from a local store owner to go to a cocktail bar that had oysters (this was such a great recommendation because we love both). As it turned out this establishment was closed for a private party but we were hungry (and thirsty). Low and behold, Mascot Brewery was right next door. Now we normally don’t go to breweries anymore (have been to over 100 and worked in several) due to my inability to digest beer (saddest moment of truth when you get older). However, we just needed something. From the moment we stepped foot in there, I knew we were going to enjoy it. The “hostess,” Cas who was actually our server was amazing. Went on the back patio and really enjoyed the atmosphere. My wife started off with a great cocktail and I had a beer (I know, just putting fuel on the fire) but the beer (west coast ipa) was absolutely delicious. We got another round of cocktails, both different off their specialty menu and got a smash burger and fries. The fries were to die for (I know, how can you screw up fries), honestly, working in the industry and being huge foodie, YOU CAN! The smash burger was amazing. MUST TRY! Also, the cocktails were very good. Cas and the other staff (bartenders and server) were extremely welcoming, attentive, and after they found out we were from out of town, they were even more personable. Being a manager of a restaurant, this is what you like to see in the staff. We couldn’t have had a better experience. Would highly recommend this establishment and will be back in a couple of...
