First Canadian Place — Local services in Toronto

Pumpernickels, First Canadian Place.Last Friday I was downtown for some business.At around lunch time I was in a Print Three for document printing. I inquired about a good restaurant for lunch, and the gentleman suggested a few places including fish and chips.He told me that he had been to Pumpernickels, and that on Friday only, they have very good fish and chips. It's located on the second floor food court, and the restaurant is an "L" shape. One branch seemed to be strictly for salads.They looked good, and it was a very busy section indicating that they are of a good quality. I'm not a salad person, so I walked over to the real food section. I was there for fish and chips, but I made the mistake of noticing a slicer and deli sandwiches. I found myself staring at the brisket on the slicer, and I was tempted to change my mind about fish and chips.By this time, a friendly and humorous gentleman asked me if he could help. I noticed that the fish was already fried and in a tray in the counter. I asked for two pieces. They seemed to be a fair size for lunch, and I thought that two would be fine. He said "you're special, I'll give you three". I asked about the type of fish they use, and he told me that it was basa. I have had basa before, and I wasn't expecting much. The fish was a perfect golden brown, and I later confirmed it's perfect crispy and tasty fried batter. The batter was the perfect thickness that allowed me to taste the fish, more than the batter. I was also surprised by the excellent taste, considering that it wasn't haddock. Twenty to thirty years ago, most restaurants used nothing but the best.......halibut. Today it is very rare because of cost due to its availability. I'm looking forward to returning to Pumpernickel very soon. When I do, I will try one of the deli sandwiches that I still have in my mind. I'm hoping that one of the owners will persuade me to return even...

Still the tallest building in Toronto (other than the CN Tower, of course) and still a jewel of a building in a sea of blue glass that developers seem to prefer. With the re-facing a few years ago, it still stands out and its one of my favorite sites taking off or landing at the Island Airport, or seeing from afar coming in off Lake Ontario or circling when landing T Pearson. There’s probably a measurable % of the Canadian economy residing within this structure - some of the largest and most recognizable Canadian and Global corporations and firms are established here. The lobby is bright and austere, with a solid confident feel to it. Elevators are efficient and quiet. Underground in the PATH is of course all you need in services and amenities - pharmacy, LCBO, eateries, medical, shopping - you’ll probably find it here. Summertime the courtyard is rammed at noon time with Bay st types and normal types alike all enjoying the sun. Probably one of my favorite corporate...

This would have been a 5 🌟 star but there were some issues.......if it was not for the food which was excellent it would have been a one star!

I had a reservation which we were 1.5 hours early to........they said they were going to get us in right away.......ended up waiting right till reservation time........if they couldn't accommodate us right away which is understandable tell us and not lead us on and make us wait.......we could have been walking around the area.

The cutlery was dirty........dried bits of food and tons of fingerprints.......was not impressed with that.......and they were changed.

My wife's pop was flat...... didn't say anything initially when waiting in the bar but when we were at our table for dinner we addressed it when the second was the same........was given another but was the same......it was not worth...
