I went to Mini Moe's yesterday after I dragged my friends there and raved about how good their burgers are. We got our burgers and as I was eating, a thick stick like structure was sticking out as I thought this cannot be a hair, it must be a thick herb stick or something. Guess what it was?! A thick hair along with the white root attached to it. I spoke to the guy behind the counter and told him, “I found a hair in my food” (and showed him my plate with the burger along with the hair). His first response was, “well it's not mine!” (no one asked if it was yours). Then he took the $12 burger away (I had eaten atleast half of it by now) and said, “I will let someone know.” (Not sure who that someone was he was referring to). I walked away, sat down then he acted like nothing had happened. I was not offered another burger or my money back - nothing. I should have taken a picture for this Google review, but I regret not doing so. When we were about to leave, my friend spoke with another employee and she talked about a possible money back situation - the guy (some one I spoke to about the situation) came back and said, “again? You found hair?” I said, “no the same one.” His response to that was, “the little hair you found?” - (keep in mind, with the white root attached at the end of the hair - gross). He tried to brush off the conversation by saying, “It was probably morning shift people.“ As we were leaving we asked if they will do anything about it and his response was, “well, I can make you another burger. You can eat it tomorrow.” I was already grossed out with the situation and did not want another burger from there. That was the only time he apologized and also added, “I cannot give you your money back.”
None of the men there have a beard hair net...none...gag. I use to love this place, but will not be going back there. Finding hair in your meal is one thing and lacking basic customer service skills is another. You cannot try to brush off the situation by putting the blame on another employee. The least he could have done was to accept the fact (since there was proof and he was staring right at it) and apologize...
Read moreDuring a recent trip to Toronto, I had the pleasure of this place, a halal burger joint nestled in the vibrant Kensington Market. From the moment I stepped inside, the cozy ambiance and the tantalizing aroma of sizzling patties immediately set the stage for a memorable dining experience.
I ordered their signature “Mustard Sally” burger, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The burger featured a double 6 oz beef patty, perfectly cooked to a juicy medium-well, stacked with crispy onion rings, smoked beef bacon, and a gooey blend of cheddar and mozzarella cheese. The tangy house-made mustard sauce tied all the flavors together beautifully. Every bite was a harmonious combination of smoky, savory, and tangy notes, with a delightful crunch from the fresh vegetables and onion rings.
The fries were equally impressive — golden, crisp, and seasoned just right. For drinks, they offered a range of creative milkshakes. I went with their Oreo shake, which was thick, rich, and a perfect complement to the hearty meal.
One standout aspect is the friendly service. The staff was knowledgeable about their menu, quick to offer recommendations, and clearly passionate about delivering a top-tier experience.
In terms of value, the portions were generous, and the prices felt reasonable given the quality of ingredients and the care put into each burger.
If you’re looking for an unforgettable halal burger experience in Toronto, should be at the top of your list. Their creative menu, high-quality ingredients, and warm atmosphere make it a place worth visiting time...
Read more5 - 1 stars, how the king is dead.... I'm deeply saddened because since 2017, my favourite burger was the Goomba with Sweet Potato Fries and spicy mayo dip. I must have brought in at least 20 people to this place over the time and everyone loved it and some became repeat customers. It was an amazing burger to eat with the boys or family and I must have eaten 100 of them by now...
Here's where it all went wrong. The current quality is sub par to say the least, the meat is dry (your napkin used to be soaked in meat juices), they switched out the crispy onions for some trash brown stuff, the bun used to be an Allan's bun and now is some dry and bland "brioche" looking bun, and to top it all of the skimp on the sweet potato fries and they are not the same ones lime they used to be. Not to mention I always have to ask for spicy mayo now because I often don't get it. Last time I got a bunch of fries and 6 spicy mayos, 5 of which were 1000 island sauce 🤮, ugh...!
I get it, "shrinkflation" and all that but the price of the burger went from $10.99 to $12.99 and it got worse! I'd rather pay $14.99 for the old goomba now.
I have to give a huge shout-out to the old weekend crew, never got anything bellow amazing from them 😁😁😁. It seems like there's a new weekend and weekday crew and they don't hold a candle to the old crew, often getting slightly burned fries or bun. Then again it might be the lower quality ingredients... Who knows... All I know is that I will be looking for a new best...
