We visited Morton’s Steakhouse in downtown Toronto as a family of four on Valentine’s night. The valet parking was convenient and reasonably priced (around $20–$25 plus tip), which made arriving stress-free. Our server provided excellent customer service. He was friendly, attentive, and made an effort to connect with both us and our kids. His recommendations for the kids were thoughtful and appreciated. Unfortunately, the experience at the entrance was not what we expected from an upscale restaurant. As we arrived, a verbal dispute broke out between a couple without a reservation and the hostess. A gentleman from the staff stepped in to assist, but the argument continued in front of other guests, including children. While it seemed the guests initiated the conflict, the situation could have been handled more professionally and discreetly. We were seated upstairs, and I would not recommend that area. It felt quiet, isolated, and lacked the lively, upscale ambiance you’d expect at a place like Morton’s. If you’re planning to go, definitely ask to be seated on the first floor, the atmosphere there seemed much more enjoyable. As for the food, it did not meet our expectations, especially for a high-end steakhouse on a special occasion. The steaks were underwhelming and lacked the flavor and tenderness we were hoping for. The salad was also disappointing, the lettuce was wilted and didn’t taste fresh. Even considering how busy Valentine’s night can be, that doesn’t justify the drop in food quality. Overall, while we appreciated the great service from our waiter and the convenience of valet parking, the food, seating, and front-door incident left us with a less-than-satisfying experience. Sadly, I wouldn’t recommend Morton’s based on our visit.

Steak was pretty good and good service. The Filet was crispy and burnt on the outside, but tender on the inside. Day-aged Strip was crispy on the outside also, but chewy and rich. The grilled shrimp added was disappointing however, no flavor and tasted old due to over cooked. Iceberg Wedge was okay. French onion soup was so-so. Overall a good place for steak. The dining environment was “squeezing”. The place itself is spacious and become “crowded” due to too many tables. Lastly, it suggests business casual dress code. Update after few another try: the prime Cajun ribeye was told by the waitress that it was marinated for 72hrs and was great! But at least compared to the prime bone-in ribeye, I prefer the latter one. Tried mushroom&spinach as sides, spinach is over cooked and mushroom always goes well if you use butter properly. Desserts: seasonal chess cake and vanilla ice cream were both good. Drink: tired few cocktails, but loved their cidcar (not sure if I spell it correctly, the 1st one on the cocktail menu) the most.. Service: forgot her name, but basically got ignore after the dinner and waited for more than 10 mins to get her attention and asked for getting the bill after dessert. - An update review in 2025. Quality of steak dropped compared to before and they changed menu with more varieties and less pricy. Service and vibes are as before. Food was good overall. Sea bass was really good. Steak came a bit disappointing. Grilled Shrimp was a disaster, dry and tasteless. House salad was good, consistent with before. Still a good place compared to other steak houses in town, but not as good as before.

Subpar to say the least... so apparently this place is considered one of the finest steakhouses in the GTA... hmmmmmmm I guess i'm wayy too spoiled since I live in Montreal and this is way below what I'm usually use to. Let me start off with the pros: The ambiance: was fine dining elegant attire minus the leaking ceiling lol was just worried with my luck that the roof would cave in on me. Service was exceptional and really great can't complain! Our waiter was super friendly and quick he got our drinks and all our food requests in quick and met all our needs. Cons: Food: Below good:/ my Caesar salad was awfully over dressed it was more of a soup and than a salad lol and the romaine was wilted. My fries was brought out a year later loool ok no it was brought out after we were already being served our cakes and we had already ate our main course. Fries were cold and stale no surprise maybe they forgot to bring it out. ? My fish was bland but cooked perfectly just absolutely no flavour. I tried my husband's "filet minion" and unfortunately, It felt like it was a New york strip cut (cheaper cut) in a baseball shape to mimic a filet minion .. i think they tried to cheat a carnivore who they thought knew nothing about steak LOL .. can't fool me it looked dry and tasted super bland! Food was awful. Honestly, I feel bad writing this review but I truly believe people need to know the truth and have clear warnings before coming here. Don't expect THE FINEST ... not close at all. I don't think we'll be back here again. Sorry to disappoint

went there for my sons birthday celebration, we were a party of six. we've been in this restaurant years ago once and i remember it was good. apparently not anymore, Maybe we were not lucky with the kitchen shift, but at least half of the dishes were severely over-salted. Dynamite oysters were so over-salted that it was impossible to eat them. Everyone from the table who tried them, agreed. The waiter did not react to the complain. Service is extremely subpar for the prices they charge. Maybe we were unlucky with the server as well(Burhan). with the service they did wrong all they could: took forever to take an order in an empty restaurant (we came early, at 5pm), served food to the wrong people without asking and we had to move the plates around, did not clear table from the extra empty wine glasses for the people who did not order wine / kids, and we had to ask for it. took the unfinished bread away without asking, and took plates away with the remainder of the food while people were still eating without asking... then they tried to be good, and brought the desert on a house for our son (it was his b-day), but they did not even write happy birthday on plate, as every other restaurant does (put a candle though). they also brought his desert prior to everyone else even ordered deserts or drinks. The table was shaking all the time and we were worried that the drinks would spill, the waiter said, that was how their tables were, they ordered new ones, but couldn't get them, so for now everyone complains about shaking tables. Also there was some defect on the inside side of the table, that caught my dress and damaged it. at the end the waiter brought one bill for all without asking, when we asked him to split it to two groups, he brought just all dishes split in half. We said we need proper bills, one for one group and the second for the second group, and the waiter refused to do, arguing what the did was the same. everyone was very disappointed with the place and especially food and service, and i felt very guilty for suggesting this restaurant in the first place. food: the actual stakes were very good, and the sides too. lobster was over-salted. cheesecake had no taste, and everyone who tried it agreed that the substance they called the cheesecake probably had no cheese in it and felt like something very artificial. chocolate lava cake was good and creme brûlée as well. drinks were ok. Ambiance: one undivided hall with tables so close to each other, that when restaurant filled up it was very hard to move around and squeeze between the tables. Noise level is extreme when restaurant was full (at around 7pm), it was impossible to speak at the table, we could not hear each other. Spend your money elsewhere, but not here, there are better...

Overpriced and under-seasoned. Went here for a work dinner. Large group with prix fix menu. Ambiance is average modern big steak house. It’s right downtown next to the hotel, a little hard to find for the first time. Large downstairs with lots of seating. They have an excellent large private conference room upstairs that can accommodate about 20-25 people. It’s quiet and great for a presentation-based meeting. Service was great. Food was just average unfortunately. I suspect due to the large group and being upstairs, food was served at relatively large intervals between guests, so people were waiting for others to get their food. Had fillet mignon which was tender but under-seasoned and massively undercooked. Multiple members of our group ordered medium and got rare still mooing cook. I got medium rare and it was cool, blue, and bloody. Steak tasted like they literally took it out the fridge and just threw it on the grill without anything. A colleague had seared tofu which she didn’t like. There were some negative comments from the group about the fish as well. Mashed potatoes were a share plate side and were good but small quantity. Green beans on the side were a let down. Chocolate pudding for dessert was also underwhelming. Key lime pie was the other option and left unfinished by my colleague. The serving size was reasonable for the mains but small for appetizers (French onion soup - pretty good - or Caesar salad) and desserts. Menu prices are aggressive for what you’re getting. Value for money is questionable at best but may not be a fair representation of what this place can do for a smaller group on a full menu. I’d like to give them the benefit of the doubt but it’s hard at this price point on a Thursday night…There are better, more memorable options out there at a less aggressive...
