Unfortunately, this place was a miss for me. I have dined at countless sushi restaurants across the world at this point, and I truly expected more from what looked like a very promising menu. In summary, the food just failed to impress me. For the price point, I expected much better. The bluefin tuna starter was average, it wasn't bad but the sauce was too overpowering. I would have liked to see the sauce act as a compliment instead of fully take over the dish. I could not taste at all if the bluefin tuna was fresh or not. The bone marrow was average, the scallops were tasty but not unique enough for me to recommend, the roll was completely average and not torched properly, and dessert was incredibly poor. The dessert platter was a mediocre crème brûlée coupled with a handful of barely-ripened or over-ripened fruit (you can see the spots where the grapes are rotting and the raspberry is barely pink) and two scoops of ice cream. The two miniature scoops of ice cream were the only edible things on the $32 dessert platter, if I'm being honest. We also ordered the nigiri set which came with the foie gras nigiri, foie gras wagyu nigiri, salmon nigiri, and toro nigiri. We also ordered the chutoro nigiri and uni nigiri, which all came on one platter. I did not find the uni to be fresh, and all other nigiri were average at best, with exception of the toro nigiri which I sincerely enjoyed. The one positive thing that I can think of to say is that the presentation of the food overall was generally well done. For a restaurant that obviously errs to the side of 'fine dining', attention to detail is important. However, I do feel like throwing a few gold flakes and random flowers on the nigiri did cheapen the overall experience. I'd rather have the food speak for itself instead of needing gold flakes to cover what is surreptitiously missing. I would certainly never return, just based on the completely disproportionate value for the amount of money that you spend. There are so many high-quality omakase restaurants in Toronto (or even casual sushi restaurants) that serve much better sushi.

Me and my boyfriend and I decided to come here for our anniversary.

We ended up arriving 30 mins early, to which we were greeted by one of the staff members at the front who helped us out. We apologized for being early, to which they responded by getting a table ready right away! It was very kind of them to do so, and that's where the great service started.

We were then seated and greeted by our waiter. Unfortunately, I didn't have the chance to get his name, but he was very kind and stayed on top of us with everything that we wanted. Even when it got busy, he made sure to help us out when needed.

I feel some of the reviews are a bit misguided, which is why I encourage everyone to at least try it. For apps, we got the golden shrimp, the wagyu foie grois rolls, and the salmon tamaki.

The portions were quite big for the price which is a plus, the golden shrimp was crispy on the outside and seasoned beautifully, the tamaki was good but I belive the star of the show was the Foie Grois roll. It was tender and juicy with a hint of crunch from the cucumber and softness of the avocado, and the sauce on top was so flavourful. It was definitely the star of the day!

For our mains, we got the rib eye steak and lamb chops both come with salad, but because I was unaware of this, I also ordered a side of the miso buttered broccoli.

The broccoli was by far the best I've had anywhere, and the portion once again is quite big. The meal overall leaves you satisfied beyond belief.

At the end they had surprised us with a creme brulee for our anniversary, they had said they don't do anything very special for it but they put a candle in mine for something memorable for our celebration, which was very considerate of them. The next time we will be trying the matcha cheesecake!

We also finished off with roasted rice tea that was so rich and flavourful it was by far the best tea I've ever had! Overall, we will definitely be...

I came here for my birthday earlier this week. The food and service were great! However, my colleagues were not impressed with the menu choices. On the menu, it was indicated that the tasting menu needed to be ordered by minimum 2 people. Me and my 1 friend decided to order the tasting menu and the other 2 friends order a la carte. Unfortunately, the waitress told us that if one person is ordering the tasting, everyone in the table had to order tasting menu as well. I explained that one of my friends had some dietary restrictions and that she preferred to order a la carte. The waitress then told us that she would double check with the chef. She came back and adamantly said no. When we explained the dietary restriction again, she offered to the change the menu from the tasting menu but my friend was not impressed. The waitress really pushed everyone to order the tasting menu, and then implied that the ones ordering a la carte should order approx. the same price as the tasting menu. (Edit: **my friend could not have meat or raw fish due to recent food poisoning... and unfortunately, the tasting menu consisted of meat and sushi. However, the waitress suggested substituting the meat and sushi dishes with tempura... which didn’t make sense and would not be worth the price for my friend) Upon frustration, I said that if this is causing an issue, I would like to be seated separately away from my group of friends. She spoke to the "head chef" once more, and then told us that they would make an "exception" tonight. Although I was relieved about us receiving approval to order as we wished, it still negatively affected my mood as I felt bad for my friends... (we did get a free sake drink for my birthday- which was thoughtful!) I think it should be clear in the menu about this change or at least the staff should explain it to the customers in the beginning as not all customers would be interested in the...
