UPDATED REVIEW (December 2024):
I wrote a five star review a while back singing this places praises because the food quality is superb. However, I just found out that the Paneer Kabob Plate labelled as vegetarian!!! is not in fact vegetarian as the rice consists of lamb. This is very upsetting and highly unethical that they would say a dish is vegetarian when itās not. They have betrayed my trust and I have reconsidered my support for them because of this. Labelling something as vegetarian when itās not is simply unacceptable.

This was my first experience with Afghan food and I am in no way disappointedā if anything, Iām annoyed by how long it took me to eat here!
The open area smelled divine and made the anticipation that much greater. If it smells that good, just imagine how it tastes š©. This is one of the places where you donāt want to get to-go as the experience of smelling it straight from the kitchen is worth too much to miss. Being said, there was constant food delivery drivers coming in and out showing itās popularity.
We ordered: Veggie lover chef special $22 NK grill dinner $27 Itās difficult to even describe the food as it was sooo wonderful. Itās the type of food that makes you feel loved and fulfilled. Thatās all Iāll say.
It was more expensive than I thought considering itās not a traditional restaurant (more of a cafe where you go to the front to order and you can choose to eat in) but an extremely special treat you can occasionally indulge in (or blow through your savings on).
Both floors offer nice, somewhat romantic vibes, especially with the intricate lighting elements which were beautiful. The exposed brick contrasts well with the wall art in addition.
They keep on top of clearing and cleaning tables which you donāt always see for cafe-type food places.
The (what I assume to be) manager was active in helping her staff which were spirited in returnā seems like a great work environment! You can tell she works hard and I appreciate that.
This is a brilliant gem in Toronto in such a convenient location. Itās not just great Afghan food, but pure and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have frequented this location very many times. With a heart condition (a non visible condition), I have had no problems with my registered service dog. The managers see me and often greet me when I am waiting for food, often amazed at her presence because she is trained. Upon today it is as if, the customer services when out the door because the managers were not there. Horrible experience. I ordered my food. One staff member instantly had an attitude as was speaking in another language to signal attention to my vested service dog. After my order is place, I take a seat be cause my blood levels are off and don't want to faint. The one who took my order arrives to me to tell me she needs to see proof. I informed her that her vest was sufficient and that she could call her managers who know I frequent the restaurant. They are loudly speaking about me and my service dog in another language. This store could use a lot of training on handling customers who require support animals. My food arrives and I check my order. In the past I was given white and red sauce for my dinners and my skewer. I ask may I have one white and red sauce for my skewers as I only see one set. The person who brings the food walks off and then Roy comes back and tells me that it's .89 each. I'm like are serious. I have never been asked to pay extra. "It's a new policy because they have an Internet app". The excuse wasn't even relevant. So I reach into my coin purse to give him a toonie.. he then refuses to take the money saying that that's not how it works. You come over to charge me extra and then don't take my money instead tell me that I have to get up and go to the register to place an order. My blood levels are definitely impacted more now as I haven't eaten and need food and then to deal with so much extra unpleasantries because of Eighty Nine Cents. The business must being doing really bad that they would subject someone with health conditions to such hardship over sauce. Unless the managers are there, don't expect go customer service...

I called and placed an order for pickup, so I wouldn't have to wait. The guy who answered the phone seemed quite capable. He took my order, name and telephone number, then told me it would take about 20 minutes to prepare-he suggested I arrive at 4:20. I parked on Hayden, paid for parking, then deliberately walked to the restaurant just after 4:20.
When I got there, I told him why I was there, told him what I ordered, then he asked my name. He checked and there was no such order. He then proceeded to "apologize" and tried to submit the order, I calmly said, "nevermind", turned around and walked out of the restaurant.
I should have known how incapable the young, male pinhead (who took the order) was, from the answer he gave regarding the restaurant's location. When I asked, he gave me the address, so I asked for the closest intersection to the restaurant. His response was, "all it says is 691 Yonge". I felt like asking if yesterday was his first day at the restaurant and if he was blindfolded on the way there, but didn't.
Disclaimer, I've had their food in the past. It was a former coworker who told me about and ordered from the restaurant, this particular location.
That was VERY poor customer service and I will NOT be returning.
Yesterday's experience solidified my reason for driving ALL THE WAY to Mississauga's "Pamier Kabob Argentia" to get food. The food is GREAT, not to mention the customer service. I've been there multiple times and had the same level of service.
First impression lasts, Naan and Kabob dropped the ball. They don't even...
