I recently visited this restaurant , but unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations. AMBIENCE: Average SERVICE: Upon entering, we were greeted by the owner, who, regrettably, displayed a notable lack of courtesy and respect. We observed a stark contrast in treatment, as another customer, who happened to be caucasian, received attentive and courteous service. However, my party, comprising diverse individuals, encountered a less welcoming atmosphere. The owner took charge of choosing our food, which, in theory, could have been a positive aspect, but the execution was far from satisfactory. We felt pressured to rush our order, with the owner pushing us to make decisions hastily. This not only impacted our dining experience but also created an uncomfortable atmosphere. As we were about to nearly finish our food, the owner approached us, insisting “If you are done pay quickly” This premature push for payment was both surprising and unwelcome. It gave the impression that our presence was an inconvenience rather than a valued customer experience. FOOD: The food itself was, average at best. While we had hoped for a memorable night, the lackluster quality of treatment further added to our disappointment. CONCLUSION: In conclusion, the combination of rude behavior from the owner, the contrasting treatment of customers, the pressure to hasten our order, left us with an overall negative impression. It's disheartening to have such an encounter in what should be a place of hospitality and enjoyment. I hope this feedback can contribute to improvements in service and create a more inclusive and pleasant environment for all patrons.

Delicious and GREAT value for money!!! We (2 people) ordered the chicken biryani and cheese naan to share, and had leftovers. We paid with cash so the total was $17. Chicken biryani: $13.99 The chicken was SUPER tender. Flavours were amazing and permeated the entire dish. There was a yoghurt sauce (not sure if it was for the naan or the biryani) that paired really well with it. HUGE portion (mainly rice but the rice IS the star of the show when eating biryani i.m.o.), but I can't say the same for the ala carte meat dishes (I think they're much smaller based on what I saw on the table beside us). Cheese naan: $4.99 Best cheese naan I've had in a really long time. I looooved the texture, slightly chewier and stretchier, the total opposite of dry. The cheese bits inside added the perfect amount of saltiness. Paired really well with the biryani we ordered! (I didn't really like the slight cilantro that was put into it though). Service: The man who served us was really friendly and always checking up on us. Reminds me of my grandparents, because he asked us for help with phone app issues lol. Will come back for that naan and to try the desserts and other dishes soon! Especially since it doesn't completely obliterate my wallet.

Tucked away on Hayden street just south of Yonge and Bloor is the Biryani House where arguably, I’ve had the best Indian in the 6ix. I ordered the eggplant, shrimp korma, and naan which is made fresh to order in the tandoor and the perfect vehicle to soak up all flavourful sauces. With just the right level of heat these dishes are comfort food at its best. Shrimp korma is not on the menu but expert waiter Rahman was able to accommodate my request. Rahman has been with this establishment for years and it shows; he is friendly, attentive, and the consummate professional. Seating is limited but the intimate space with colourful lights creates a fun and somewhat international vibe. We like.

I stopped in today for lunch. Indian sounds better than the nearby pizza place and the prices on the board outside the door were just right.

A man standing behind the register greeted me and took my order - one order of channa and rice at $7.99 plus HST. He grabbed the to go dish and shared my order with a red-haired man who’d come inside shortly after me before disappearing to the back.

The red haired man typed in $10.99 and pushed the machine towards me to pay. This wasn’t the correct price though. I asked how he got that from the price on the board because it wasn’t adding up. He mumbled “with tax” before quickly typing in the correct price and sliding the machine towards me again. not ever making eye contact or acknowledging his mistake. I shook my head and took my food.

Probably won’t go back because that interaction didn’t sit right with me. It’s a shame because the channa and rice are good. And the menu has a lot to offer. Too many options nearby to deal with this kind...
