The only reason I'm leaving 3 stars is because of how amazing the food was, and service from all staff other than our ASSIGNED server. We were very excited to try this restaurant based on the reviews of the food, after a day of tourist activities and walking just over 30ksteps, we took a lengthy walk here just to try the food. We were seated and the server said she'd come back for our drink orders as we just sat, she returned in a few minutes apologizing for the delay and took our drink and app order. We received our appetizer and had time to finish it, (and the table beside us who had received their entrees as we were ordering drinks, all had time to finish their meals and pay) and we still hadn't received our drinks or had our entree orders taken. I had given benefit of the doubt as I could see the bartender working and making drinks and I don't mind waiting if it's busy.... but once I noticed him cleaning/wiping his work area and still no sight of our server, I walked up and he greeted me, I stated i was just wondering about our drinks, i told him what they were, he said "oh yes the server will bring them to you they're ready" I said "oh well it's just we had time to eat our app and still haven't got them" he then said he "made them a while ago" and brought them over to us and apologized. (40 minutes at this point) After many more minutes we still hadn't seen our server, so I asked another girl for a server not on break, she was apologetic and took our order after finding our server.
Our server then brought us a free dessert while waiting for our meal.. which was nice... but the experience was already crappy. The runner brought our food and asked if I needed another drink, I said no, then after our server brought me a complementary one which again was nice and appreciated however we still felt quite ignored by her. The other server had checked on us more than she had... and when I asked for a container, the other server offered me one, I said our server was getting it... and she brought one back to me way before our waitress returned with it. Over all it felt like they were trying to make us happy and get us out. Then once we paid, I heard our server complain to the bartender about the tip amount, which he said he wasn't suprised and she said "my bad" the tip was low, but unfortunately so was the level of service from this one staff. The others were good, but again, we could tell that we were being talked about.. infact I over heard it more than once.. a shitty experience while being there for a total of 2 hours when not busy on a Sunday night. We will not be returning on our annual trip. Shame as the food was absolutely something...
Read moreI have a severe back disability, The front door was frozen shut, and the handicap button did not work
Two patrons had to help me because no hostess was available
When finally an employee came to help, they treated me as though I was under the influence however, I have a bad disability
Upon sitting at the bar, another employee came over and told me I would not be served simply because he did not like that. I had a disability.
Instead of treating me with respect, the individual asked me what my disability wise, which is highly inappropriate
I stated that it was inappropriate to ask someone what their disability is And the gentleman told me to leave
He said yeah, you can go. That was the exact words.
For multiple individuals to not know someone with a disability was trying to get through the front door, And then, for the employees to treat the person with a disability with utter disrespect is incredibly problematic
This has been one of the most abysmal experiences. For no hostess to be available and for the handicap door to not be accessible, does not indicate that the person should not be served
And then for the employee to exacerbate the issue by asking what specifically the disability was is another highly problematic issue
Two people who seemingly do not have a disability do not get to ask what a disabled person’s medical problem is. And if a disabled person does not feel comfortable disclosing their medical issue, it does not make them deserving of getting kicked out of the bar
The individual who said yeah, you can leave is a brown man with spiky hair and a silver chain. In addition to being incredibly rude, this gentleman was mocking me by giving me dirty, looks and by discussing me with their employees as though I’m less of a human being
My advice to anyone with a disability do not go...
Read moreVery disappointing experience with racial bias. I visited this establishment with my girlfriend a few weeks back and we waited 25-30 minutes without being greeted, despite the patio being only partially occupied with around 6 other tables. Several servers walked past us, making eye contact as I tried to get their attention, but they blatantly ignored us and went back inside. We were the only people of colour on the patio at the time, and the lack of service felt more than coincidental. The hostess’s attitude also stood out. She was notably unfriendly when seating us, a stark contrast to her warm demeanor with the group before us. Had we not been exhausted and starving after walking a far distance, we would have gotten up and left. When we were finally greeted, there was no apology for the long wait we endured to be acknowledged, instead we were bluntly asked if we were ready to order. To add insult to injury, the waitress asked us for a 5-star review in exchange for a dessert. Not too sure if this was a sad attempt at evading a bad review, or if bribing customers for 5 star reviews is a common practice at this establishment. Either way, it felt like a dubious attempt to manipulate false feedback and left a sour impression. I was not surprised to see the complete lack of diversity among the staff. It was evident that the establishment did not prioritize inclusivity and representation, which likely contributed to the biased treatment we experienced. The food also left much to be desired alongside the inattentive service. Needless to say, I will not be returning and I certainly DO NOT...
