Pizza On Fire — Restaurant in Toronto

This place is an anomaly.

I had never heard of it and we just happened to doing a curbside pick up at a store down the street when we were craving pizza. I looked up pizza places nearby and noticed this place had 5 stars... And I cynically thought, well this is place is either amazing or something fishy is going on here!

First note: easily the best breaded chicken wings I have ever had from a pizza joint. They're crispy with a thin batter so you don't feel too heavy after. Their honey garlic is unique and I'd recommend it as the sauce to pick!

Pizza: Fantastic! I've tried a few variations, but if you're a cheese lover, their pepperoni (on menu has double pepperoni and double mozzarella) with a sprinkling of parsley(?) on top. Toppings go very close to the edge of the crust, which I prefer, and the normal crust is fairly thin compared to popular chains-- it almost has a baked naan/pita quality to it. I love when a pizza crust is more complimentary and doesn't leave a giant breadstick on the end.

For other items: the tenders are great and I honestly ordered them on Uber Eats just to pad my basket to unlock a coupon from Uber-- ended up loving them and re-purposing them in lunch wraps for work.The calzone is wonderful as well, a hearty amount of a cheese and if you add a topping (like pepperoni) it's featured prominently.

This is clearly a small business that cares about doing what they do well and they definitely earned my time to fill out this review. If you're a pizza lover, they're definitely worth your time...

TL;DR - Absolutely worthy of the high score; fairly priced; non oily pizza and Chinese restaurant style wings.

Was in the mood to try a new pizza place as we're always looking for "the best". Happened to see this restaurant on Google Maps and decided to give it a shot with the great review scores... Now I know why!

Honestly, didn't really have high expectations considering the location... Not an area known for pizza... And then I heard the kitchen staff speak Cantonese. I blurted out my observation and one of their regulars assured me this place is a hidden gem as he has been coming for 5+ years, but totally understands my initial reaction. We had a good laugh about it :)

Ordered their Hawaiian, Meat Lovers, and Deluxe pizzas. Also added chicken wings. The pizzas were phenomenal - loaded with toppings, not oily, and so tasty. They're also on the thick side but didn't feel heavy. I recommend air frying your slice for a minute or two if you want a crispier bottom; made it even more delicious. The wings are Chinese restaurant style and perfectly cooked. Batter was crispy and wasn't soggy by the time we got home to eat them!

Lastly, service was excellent despite forgetting my Coke! Called in about it and they said they'll give it next time, no big deal.

Looking forward to trying their other pizzas and other items! Will be...

The pizza, service and the atmosphere are all excellent here. I've had their various pizzas over the last 2 years or so. Initially, the sketchy plaza parking lot and a small hole-in-the wall vibes gives you some doubts but this is one of those Scarborough hidden gems where you will be pleasantly surprised. The staff here are always welcoming and friendly and pizzas here have consistently been excellent.

I would have to say their best pizza is their tandoori chicken but every pizza here is well crafted. I've had their regular and gourmet pizzas and all have been impressive. My favorite here from the regular pizzas would be their Mediterranean. The dough on their pizzas are somewhat typical of the American style pizza but the doughs are not heavy or thick. Toppings are generous and all their pizzas are cooked well with a nice crispy crust. The pizza slices are heavy with toppings so it's sometimes better to eat it with a fork and a knife. As for the tandoori chicken pizza, I was suspicious of the avocado belonging on pizza but I am now a full convert. The balance of the onion, tandoori chicken and avocado is just perfect. In fact, my co-workers have all been converted to the top notch pizzas here.

I have never ordered delivery but this place is always busy when I come in to pick up pizzas...
