An excellent gem to find if you struggle with dietary concerns. Everything on the menu is gluten and dairy-free and they have a lot of vegan options. The café feels very comfortable and has a home-like quality where you can sit down and relax. The food and drinks are freshly made so it does take some time to prepare, but the employees give you a heads up if something will take a little bit longer to make. It's honestly worth the wait, though! I had the tofu scramble sandwich since the worker recommended it to me (pictured in the last image): it was delicious. I savoured every last bite--even the tomatoes which usually aren't my thing! I also ordered the almond mocha smoothie and an iced chai latte sweetened with maple syrup and both were delicious. If you need any modifications made to your order, the staff are happy to accommodate you. I really felt cared for and seen. The washroom is upstairs and is a bit small, so if you have mobility issues that could be something to keep in mind. But the upstairs also houses more seating with lots of light and some couches for comfortable relaxation. All in all, I would absolutely recommend this cafe and hope to go back again soon!

December edit: kids had a great time at Sprouty's gingerbread house decorating workshop. Too bad the gingerbread houses didn't last long because they were also delicious :) ---- With a loved one with celiac disease, it has been quite stressful and often disappointing to try to eat together at restaurants in the area, after the only gluten-free restaurant/bakery in Riverdale closed down last year. But now, Sprouty to the rescue! Not only is the kitchen completely gluten-free (and dairy-free) but the food and smoothies are varied and incredibly tasty, the baked goods might make you wonder for a moment if they're indeed gluten-free, and somehow there's always a choice even for the pickiest of eaters. If you're avoiding gluten or dairy, this is a must try. And even if you're not, go anyway for a delicious freshly-made meal and a nice chat with the lovely owners.

i went here on a saturday evening without realizing that i was walking in after they'd already closed and the owner/server at the front didn't try and shoo me out! he was so gracious and while i had originally only gone in for coffee, i decided instead to try out the affogato (i am a sucker for them, and i haven't resisted one to date). despite that i had dinner rezzos immediately after, that was a NO-REGRETS affogato! it was soooo delicious and creamy and only after it came out was i told it was lactose free! which, had i not been told, i NEVER would have guessed because that was one of the most creamiest and rich cashew-based ice cream i had ever had! i hope to DEFINITELY go back, they have a mezanine with extra seating upstairs AND an outdoor patio out back upstairs as well which is amazing for the location.

This is a dedicated gluten-free & dairy-free facility, verified by menus, signage, and an employee. I tried a Sunny Salad (Egg) sandwich, which I enjoyed immensely. The bread was slightly over-toasted, but I also acknowledge that gluten-free bread can be tricky to prepare. To drink, I sampled a Dalgona Coffee, which was novel to me and therefore interesting. But I don't think it was prepared quite right-- the sugar wasn't full dissolved, and if I had been asked I would have stated a preference for warm milk to the coldish milk with ice cubes that I received. I had a vanilla cupcake and a slice of lemon-almond cake for dessert. The cupcake was moist and full of flavour, not too sweet. The orange-almond cake would be best served with a cup of black coffee, in my opinion since it has a texture similar to a unfrosted cake donut. Inside is cute! The teal and white colour scheme feels open and airy, and the bright colours make it easy to forget the dark-toned Starbucks that used to occupy the space. Orders are placed at the quick-service counter, and diners can choose seating from a few tables downstairs or venture upstairs to a largest space with additional tables, a washroom, and even and outdoor rooftop patio! Take your parent or grandparent here--...

Amazing food and service. My friend and I got the truffle melt sandwiches with Greek salads and the mini cupcakes. Everything was SO GOOD. I was already scheming up the next time I could visit again since it’s rare for dairy-free and gluten-free food to taste so yummy. I could not tell the bread was gluten-free from taste. Usually, I find gluten-free bread grainy/mealy but this tasted like bread with gluten. The truffle melt part had a slight coconut taste that I loved. The mini cupcakes were vanilla-flavoured with vanilla frosting and glitter. I got two for dine-in and two to-go… would have gotten a box of 10 if they had enough. I also felt glowy after eating here - I was full but the meal was light and nourishing. I did not feel weighed down after the meal. Lastly, the vibe was awesome. The service was warm, friendly, and lovely. The decor was comfy and inviting. Thanks so much, looking forward to returning and trying more...
