Amazing! Great! Fantastic! An all-nighter! Flavorful! Delicious! Inviting! Fun! Vibe! A taste of Mexico in the North. #mangohabenero Special shoutout to Danny, as a server he was awesome! The churo ice-cream desert is phenomenal (had 2).

Came back again! & again & again. It's still phenomenal. Oh yeah A+, 4.0 GPA. & yes Danny is still the best!

AUG.09.23 Olivia our sever was dope AF. Great vibes, great energy & friendly it added to the good time. Our guy Danny wasn't there, but it's always love for the OG Danny he is a LEGEND IN THESE STREETS!! Now, bring back the stacked ice-cream churro desert! It's a better option than the churro sticks.

Dec.16.23. Another great time. Especially in the cold months, it's a mini vacation without the beach. Brought a few friends along & they loved it as well 6-stars. BOBBY M. was amazing as our server tonight & he was exceptional, great vibe, on point & great recommendations, especially for the drinks. Got to see the OG DANNY again! Always a better time at Chula when Danny is present.

AND THE STACKED ICE-CREAM CHURRO DESERT IS BACK! When your exclusive, don't be ordinary.

05.18.2024 HEEY YOUUUUU GUUUUUUUYS!!! Our group(4) returned again. Like a great movie franchise, like clockwor—IIt. Was. Fantastic. We all loved the birria tacos, the mango chicken tacos amazing. Still my favorite spot to get corn & the drinks were awesome. Got to see the reigning defending Champion DANNY again, always love. And great energy surrounds the staff, the environment the entire time. BOBBY M was back in the building, officially unofficially the "M" means Mcfly. He was awesome kept the vibes going all night. Like Marty, we will be back.

Jan. 23.2025 ANOTHER SPECTACULAR EVENING. A New Year & still one of the best places to visit is Chula. Again. Again. Again. The President & Prime Minister of the best experience party DANNY was in the building. Always good to see him. Still the best spot for a Mexican vacation without the flight. *STOP MESSING WITH THE Churro. The unique take on the churro desert makes Chula 1 of 1. The churro donut ice-cream mint tower should be fixed like the building to the address. ✌🏾

MAR. 15. 2025 Large group outing. Great energy as usual. Views from the 2nd floor overlooking the street was fantastic. Food was great. Was fortunate to get the great Danny again. Always the pleasure to see him. Hate to report it. But the churro desert is back to being sticks. Stop this. It doesn't work. Multiple people have loved the food—but the (non original churro) ilhas been the least loved. The stacked donut desert was, is, still the best l, especially on flavor &...

My dining experience at Chula Taberna Mexicana was nothing short of exceptional, beginning with the stellar service that set the tone for the entire evening. The attentiveness and professionalism of the staff were remarkable, ensuring that every aspect of our visit was met with precision and warmth.

Now, onto the culinary delights that graced our table – the zucchini fritters were a revelation, a symphony of flavors and textures that elevated this seemingly simple dish to gourmet heights. Each bite was a harmonious blend of crispiness and tenderness, leaving an indelible impression.

Moving on to the Mango Chipotle Chicken Tacos, they offered a delightful fusion of sweet and spicy notes, showcasing the chef's adeptness at crafting well-balanced and innovative dishes. The veg poppers were a pleasant surprise, a medley of flavors and colors that added a vibrant touch to the overall dining experience.

However, it was the Chicken Enchilada that stole the spotlight and became the undisputed showstopper of the evening. Succulent, flavorful, and expertly prepared, it embodied the essence of Mexican cuisine in every mouthful. The layers of rich flavors, coupled with the perfect blend of spices, made it a culinary masterpiece.

In conclusion, Chula Taberna Mexicana not only met but exceeded my expectations. The impeccable service, combined with the culinary artistry showcased in each dish, makes it a destination worthy of repeat visits. My taste buds were taken on a journey, and I left with a newfound appreciation for Mexican cuisine, thanks to the exceptional offerings at this...

From the moment you walk into Chula Taberna Mexicana, you’re welcomed by a lively Tex-Mex atmosphere. The staff greets you with warm smiles and genuine hospitality, setting the tone for a great dining experience.

To start, we ordered the “Dos Amigos” – a combination of guacamole, pico de gallo, and tortilla chips. It was tasty and fresh, though it could’ve used just a pinch more salt to enhance the flavor. For drinks, we tried three Mango “Sodas Flacas,” which were super refreshing and bursting with flavor – definitely a highlight.

For our main course, we ordered two Smoked Chicken Bowls. They were absolutely delicious! However, a heads-up: the sauces are quite spicy. If you’re not used to heat, I’d recommend asking for them on the side or skipping them altogether. We also tried the Birria Tacos, and the birria broth dipping sauce was rich and full of flavor – a must-try!

In addition, we had two Baja Fish Tacos and one Pork Carnitas Taco. Both were very good, but again, the spice level was on the higher side. If you’re sensitive to spice, it’s something to keep in mind.

To wrap things up, we shared two desserts: the Churro Sundae and the Tres Leches Cake. Both were amazing! The churros were my personal favorite – crispy, sweet, and perfectly done. The tres leches cake came with deep-fried ice cream, which was a fun twist on the classic. The only small critique would be that the cake could have been a bit more moist.

As a final touch, after paying the bill, our server offered us three complimentary tequila shots with curaçao as a digestif – such a kind and...

Chula is good, but not great. That being said I wouldn't tell you not to come here, it is very much worth a try and there are some great reasons to come here. I would say the standouts on the menu are the drinks. Palomas were fantastic, the mango habanero was great, and the mami chula was good. The food was tasty, but nothing really jumped out. The tacos were not the best we've had, enchiladas were the same, and I would say if anything, what we enjoyed most was the shrimp ceviche. The service experience here was an absolute roller coaster. We made a patio reservation a couple weeks ago, and were initially seated inside. They were understanding that there was a mistake on open table, and seated us at a high top for six (we were two) under a leaky tarp. So we asked again to be moved (we do not like doing this), and the server was so kind about it, and the manager was so understanding, did an excellent job of getting us moved to a table on the upstairs patio. Big round of applause for the serving staff here because I know it couldn't have been easy on a booked up Saturday night to make this work and we are so appreciative of them. Truly, the staff we dealt with up to that point were 5/5. Our server upstairs unfortunately might've needed some help. For an hour and a half time limit that our card only showed as an hour after our initial ordeal, they were simply not as present as they needed to be. We were never offered water or brought the water we asked for, and I would call the timing on the first empty rounds lucky at best.

If you are looking to for a restaurant serving a a 3 course meal for $20 then keep watching! But first welcome to Chula Taberna Mexican restaurant located in Leslieville which needs to be on your list of places to visit for more than one reason! Firstly, we got couple of beers to start with and they both were pretty good, like you can’t go wrong with a crisp beer on a beautiful afternoon. Let’s eat, shall we? Our first course was the appetizers, we decided to go with the classic, nachos and guacamole so delish! & the corn on cob fire!! Could eat this any given day! Our second course were tacos, I went with the Fish & Zucchini tacos and lemme just say! & Amit opted for the chicken and pork tacos & he couldn’t stop eating! & for dessert we got ourselves a mango sorbet, super refreshing & my hot churros with homemade caramel sauce! Aah! Mucho sabroso!  If you haven’t tried these, you are missing out! For more details read the caption and share this is someone you’d like to visit and follow along as I share with you.. Hand Chef Kutesh really outdid himself with these dishes! . . . 📍 @chulataberna 🌮 - The food was fire! We opted for the pre-fix lunch menu and for $20 this was a steal! I wish I knew about this sooner ;) 🚨- Wilson was a star & the energy he got to the place was unmatched! Kudos to Chef Kuntesh for cooking an absolute stellar meal! You NEED to try this!! 🧸 - If you haven’t visited this place yet, what are you waiting for? ;)
