As an avid Starbucks lover and regular customer at this location, I feel that I should share my experience.
I would like to start off by saying that my order was always completed properly and that the food and drinks were up to Starbucks standards with their prices being higher than other locations in Toronto (?)
However, I feel that this location is severely lacking in service. Although I can understand that there may be a longer wait time due to incoming mobile orders, the baristas often do not work at full efficacy. Even during down times there can be up to 5 baristas behind the bar, and still be a ridiculous wait time at the pickup. It is not uncommon to be waiting 5 minutes for a cup of ice water. This is a high traffic area so some waiting is expected, but sometimes it is simply ridiculous to watch baristas gossiping instead of preparing your drink. Furthermore, I believe that they could have more charisma with the customers. The Parklawn and Queensway location and the Leslie and Lake Shore location in Toronto are example of excellent customer service.
Secondly, the cleanliness of the restrooms often leaves something to be desired. In the Yorkville area, expectations are high.
Thirdly, during the winter, it can be uncomfortable to sit and enjoy your beverage as there is a constant draft of cold air from the door. Perhaps redirecting traffic to using the side door during the cold months could make the seating area more enjoyable.
To conclude, I will continue to visit this location, but there are some issues that should be addressed: 1. The higher drink prices than anywhere in Toronto. 2. The lacking customer service and wait time. 3. The cleanliness of the restrooms. 4. The cold draft in the winter. Read moreUSED 2 BE Gr8 baristas (staff) at this location, but not any more; my last visit (less than an hr b4 editing this post/review), they were okay 2 take my order 4 a drink, but then told me that I had 2 leave because of my strong body odor -- there was only 3-4 other people in the store, none of which was sitting anywhere near me (they tried 2 use "company policy" 2 justify it, but are going against their own discrimination & inclusion policy; I'm a person w/many disabilities living on the streets, & frequent a # of different Starbucks locations (including here) 4 hot water 2 make teas, + access 2 power 2 charge my devices (phone, tablet, etc.) & & WiFi 2 check emails, msgs, etc.). They expected me 2 sit outside on the patio IN THE POURING RAIN, & when I went 2 get hot water & a tea refill after packing up my stuff, the only barista behind the counter refused 2 serve me, even after bringing up the fact that I had just PAID 4 a drink, & thus was entitled 2 free tea refills & hot water in my reusable travel mug & carafe (this particular barista has been rude 2 me every time I've dealt w/him since the very 1st time 4 no apparent reason other than I clearly look homeless due 2 my 2-wheel hand cart & buggy that I travel around with -- I've been repeatedly down on my luck 4 several yrs, & didn't choose 2 become homeless nor did I ask 4 it, & I shouldn't be looked down upon or treated any less because of it. I'm still a human being, & still treat others w/respect & dignity (even though a lot of them don't deserve it by their words & actions), & I deserve 2 be treated the same as every1 else).
Other than 2 come file a complaint w/the store mgr, I won't be returning 2 this location EVER, & will be suggesting 2 people that they find other (BETTER) locations 2 give...

Paid for the item but then was refused service. I placed my order and paid for it. The transaction was approved and I stepped aside to wait for my order. Jessica, the staff member who served me then called me back to the counter - said my transaction didn't go through and then insisted I pay again because they had "deleted" my order. Hilarious, cuz the card terminal still read APPROVED.
I tried to reason with her and she said I couldn't have my items unless I paid again. Ran my card but guess what - it was declined, because I had ALREADY PAID FOR IT and my bank stopped the transaction instead of charging me DOUBLE. Was told I wouldn't be served unless I paid (again) so I left. Called the manager who said unless I came back there was nothing they could...
