I visited Steam Whistle Brewing for a tour with my friends about 9 years ago! I remember really enjoying the tour and the beer so when hubby and I visited Toronto for the weekend, I decided to bring him here. We were able to book a last minute tour for the next day, which was a Friday at 4 pm. On the day of, we were in the area a lot earlier. The booking email confirmation said we could email if we need to cancel or change our reservation. Maybe they were busy the day of but we didn't get an email response and nobody picked up the phone either. Luckily, we were able to change our time without issue because we decided to just stop in early, so we ended up doing the 1 pm instead. Tours last 30 minutes and tickets cost about $15 CAD and include a beer during the tour. Our tour guide, Kenny was awesome. He made the tour interesting and fun, and you could tell he really loves his job. We found at that tours had just recently started up again since before Covid (May 2023). We decided to add a 6 pack to our ticket and we are so glad we did because it also came with a limited edition bottle opener.
Another pro is that it's conveniently located Downtown, next to the CN Tower. It's also located in an old train yard, so there are plenty of photo ops around. The brewery also has a restaurant, which I don't believe was there last time. The food smelled great but we had just eaten lunch. If I ever find myself back in Toronto, I wouldn't mind...

With all that brick and those huge windows, you get this sweet mix of industrial vibes and warmth, perfect for snapping those heartfelt moments during the ceremony or the party vibes at the reception. Shooting in Pilsner Hall feels like capturing love in a cozy, light-filled bubble, and the Locomotive Hall is this massive space where you can really get creative with your shots. Plus, those patios with the Toronto skyline in the background? They make for some epic sunset photos that are sure to wow.
The staff at Steam Whistle are chill and totally get what photographers need - they're super helpful with lighting and letting us move around to get the best shots. The whole vibe of the place, from the industrial coolness to the fun beer element, makes for some really genuine, memorable photos. Just keep in mind, the layout can be a bit tricky for moving around, especially if you've got guests with mobility issues, so you gotta plan a bit. But overall, the unique feel of Steam Whistle, combined with how easy they make it for us photographers, makes it one of my go-to spots for capturing unforgettable...
