An amazing spot for dim sum in the downtown area! Loving the whole interior which provides a nice little aesthetic. Food was awesome! Nice and fresh and tasted just how dim sum should be with a few little surprises! The abalone tart is a must! The nice little chew on the abalone combined with the slightly firm tart shell was pure bliss! The egg tart, this has got to be one of the best egg tarts in the city now! I still think about that soft slightly melty custard centre and the flaky crust from the shell! For some people who want something lighter, they also offer a salad on the menu with nice little Asian influences in the dressing, which came out tangy, and slightly sweet. The other thing that definitely caught my attention is their tableware and containers. All compostable and as well, the little sauce containers are even made from corn starch! They are also the sister restaurant of the one in markham called providential 9, which is also superb at dim sum! But you can only get that abalone tart and some other signature items at the downtown location! Definitely coming back to try that mango mochi! Service was on point, super efficient and loving the setup where you look at the menu, and go to the counter to order and await pickup of food! Very streamlined process! Currently awaiting a sign for the outside, so if you think you’re at the right address and seeing nothing showing the spot, you’re totally at the right location! Great job overall! One of the most unique dimsum I have been to. Atmosphere is not tradition but the food is very much core dimsum!! One of the best dimsum in around GTA. (Currently my #1 in downtown specifically) ***Atmosphere: 10/10 (quite unique, very IG, almost zen like vibes) don’t have anything to judge it against. So new experience new feel! ***Food: (8.5/10) (love majority of the food! Food is very high quality!! Personally not a fan of salt egg yolk but that’s just me. Egg tart was on a different level when compared to the likes of “The One fusion or Yu Seafood Richmond” ***Price: 8/10 (compared to restaurants in downtown this is very filling and affordable. Obviously there’s dimsum more affordable in downtown and the Markham area, but for the quality it’s a lot better than most places! I personally would pay extra to have such quality and service!! If you been to tradition dimsum you know what I mean 😂 ***Service: 10/10 people there was amazing to talk to, very passionate about their food and even down to the tea quality! ***bonus: all material use as plates and cutlery was biodegradable and environmentally friendly!! What an unexpected surprise!!! The whole experience had a bit of a Japanese wood playing vibe!! Would I return? 100% my current go to dimsum in downtown Toronto!

TL:DR: Sue fung offers a good quality dim sum that is sure to please different types of taste preferences. Dishes to try are the crispy beef, bbq pork buns and the egg tarts. There are many dim sum places downtown, but this is a place to definitely try.

Having been to Sue Fung multiple times, I got to say this is one of my favourite dim sum places downtown. This place has alot of things going for it.

First, I like the cafeteria feel to this place. I like the fact I can sit down and grab a quick bite and leave. I think it's perfect for lunch when you are on a time crunch.

Second, I really like the food here. I have tried the Sui Mai, crispy beef, har gow, bbq pork buns, fried shrimp rolls, wild mushrooms and snow pea leaf dumplings, oolong tea and egg tarts. Personally, I was not a big fan of egg tarts, BBQ porkbuns, oolong tea and other staples of dim sum. After trying it here, I have quickly realized I just haven't been to the right places. The egg tarts are fresh, creamy and perfectly baked. The BBQ pork buns are soft and have good flavour. The crispy beef is my favourite here. It has a nice sweet flavour to it. The beef isn't over cooked. I definitely recommend this dish here.

Third, I personally enjoy the atmosphere here. I find the atmosphere relaxing. It's easy to talk to whomever you are with. The owner -Jimmy is super friendly. I like the lo fi music they play here. Washrooms are clean.

Fourth, it's located in downtown. If you have friends coming from the east and the west of Toronto, it's a great meeting spot.

The only slight downfall here is the price and service. It is true, this place is more expensive then other dimsum places. Having talked to the owner, this is primarily due to the quality of food plus other overhead costs such as using palm leaves plates to be more environmentally friendly. Furthermore, it is mostly self serve. I think self serve is great as I don't need to wait around to get what I may need. It's great for...
