Sunset Grill — Restaurant in Toronto

Descent looking place. practically new very clean. My Problems started with my order, I wanted french fries instead of home fries because they don't have a deep fryer I was regulated to their pre seasoned home fries as I have to limit my salt. I order the pancake breakfast and ask to hold off on the delivery of the pancakes until I am ready for them (They are called Hot Cakes alternatively No?)the waitress informs me she has to ask if this is possible (Really?). My eggs arrive and there are $ Burnt to a Crisp Rock Hard pieces of Bacon which I really didn't intend to eat all due to the whole salt thing, Right next to my perfectly over easy eggs. But where is the Toast Can't eat overlays eggs without Toast that's just madness I say!?! I ask for the toast and it is pretty obvious she forgot to order it for me. So here I am waiting a few minutes for my toast and I bite into a hash brown and all I can taste is the damn thing is overly salted 1st and last one I eat. Toast arrives so now I can eat eggs which are fine I will say again. finish eggs and toast. wait a few minutes and ordered the Pancakes. Have you ever had pancakes that were not cooked all the way through? Yup that's what I was eating. at the end I was handed a Bill for $15.25 I told the gentleman of my complaints and he says to me I only heard the Homefries where to salty and hands me back 4.75.

I left no tip and left.

I will never eat at a Sunset Grill again.

Came here with a couple friends to share a dish or two after a long tired night and coming from the airport.

We ordered a 3 eggs benedict dish first before deciding on a next dish. To our surprise, when our dish arrived, the 3 eggs were not separate, not poached, and it came on only 2 muffins.

We asked for an extra muffin for the third egg but the chef insisted that we will have to pay extra ?!

We tried to explain that the menu says 3 eggs benedict. The chef insisted that that's how the order is. Even the waitresses agreed with us that this didnt make sense.

We emphasized that we were unhappy about this but there was no remedy offered. We were just told that we would have to pay for an extra piece of english muffin.

This pretty much ruined our whole experience.

We liked our server, coffee was good, and the place was nice too. I gave the low star because it was really shocking to us that the chef just couldnt give us a simple bun that we shouldnt even have had to ask for.

We also emphasized to the waitress that we didnt feel comfortable giving tip after, despite their good service. We told them it's not because of them but we were really just not happy to not be given an extra 20 cent piece of bread. We would have given $5 extra tip otherwise.

Our friends and I often order eggs benedict for brunch. I wouldnt suggest it here. I might not suggest this restaurant overall either. Im still surprised by...

This establishment is hands down the BEST Sunset Grill I've ever visited in the GTA.

Every single time I've ordered from this location, the servers are attentive and ask questions to ensure they have the order right, and in particular the wonderful chef Dante (as well as the other chefs) have specifically catered to my requests. They are welcoming, warm and go above and beyond to provide the highest quality service and the best food possible. You can taste the difference, compared to other establishments. The level of service here is something I haven't seen in many years, that's why I'm writing this glowing review! It's rare to find a restaurant that genuinely values building relationships with its customers, both new and returning. The ambiance is always inviting—bright and open, clean tables, tidy floors, and an open, welcoming atmosphere.

If you're ever in the neighborhood - heck even if you're not in the neighborhood - it is worth the drive to come pay this location a visit. For an enjoyable breakfast, brunch or early dinner - this location is the spot to visit, and I'll always be a customer.

Overall, what you get here is excellent service and the best food hands down out of all the Sunset franchises in the GTA.
