I ate here July 2018 and had a negative experience, but never thought to leave a review until now. I had come in from a very long walk from a downtown Greyhound bus arriving from out of town sweating. Sat down to eat, only to hear the cook and waitress gossiping about me in Mandarin! I may have been born in Canada and speak English without a noticeable accent, but I speak and understand Mandarin too...I was in such shock that I still left a tip but said goodbye in Mandarin so that they knew that I understood them. The restaurant was right next to a performance venue where I was rehearsing, so I thought it would have been a convenient place to have a repeat experience. Unfortunately due to this unprofessional and unkind experience, I would NEVER eat here again nor recommend anyone to eat here and wish I could take back the tip. Instead, I’m writing this review since I’m sure many people eat or ate there that don’t speak anything but English and probably even aren’t aware what is being said right to their face. Always, always, always - love, kindness, respect to others, especially when you represent the face of Asian Canadians. Anything less will always come back to haunt you. Peace & blessings to all during such challenging times! Let it be a reminder for us to be called higher and...

Very polite service with a smile, but sneaky, So, when they made a mistake on are orders they were extremely mean about it. Said l made the mistake, I told them food was missing on are orders, they told me no, i made the mistake, how can they tell me how to think, I no what is infront of my face and l no what I ordered. All I wanted was them to put food there that was missing, they didn't care what I said just said no you made the mistake I explained the whole situation, i didn't ask for the money back just put the food there that was missing but they did give a care. Yet l gave a big tip when I ordered because I thought they were polite, but were a sneaky place. But when I got my order home they were mean and didn't care that they were in the wrong. never coming back there. They smile,, at you to get your money but wont work with you over the phone if they make a mistake. Sneaky they just get your money and run. Yet I gave a big tip, never coming back to that mess again. Own up to...

I am a kind of person who likes fish but so sensitive at fishy smell. I usually don’t eat sushi at low-moderate price restaurant, but I was really craving for california sushi at that night. I searched sushi restaurant nearby and found this one. After reading so many positive reviews I made my mind to give it a try. Cut to the point, I’ve never eaten eel sushi which doesn’t smell fishy at all in Toronto before this god blessed restaurant. The eel wasn’t thick but it was cheap. You get what you pay for. But the sushi was so amazing and the quality of ingredients where just far beyond my expectations. Ohhhh I forgot to ask not to put fish eggs but the fish eggs didn’t smell at all either!! And the salmon was just melting in my mouth. I’m looking forward to try other sushi and sashimi here. Will...

Got the salmon skin roll (inspired my Rachel from Friends), Salmon Avocado and super kamikaze. Their “spicy” salmon/tuna mix doesn’t have filler. Restaurants in this city like to bulk their mix with tempura bits as filler. Maido’s is just chopped fish and I think Gochujang for the spice. Well done. Note that they packed the sweet soy for the salmon skin roll on the side which was great attention to detail. The crispy salmon stayed crisp because of that. Rolls have a touch more rice than I personally like, but it is good quality rice and perfectly cooked. Every grain was individual and was not mushy or over seasoned. Workers there are so sweet as well. Super cute. Food was well packed too. I’m stuffed.

This is the best sushi restaurant in Toronto. I’ve been going to this restaurant since I was in high school. The food quality is incredible. They always serve my food fresh especially when it comes to their salad and vegetables; they are always fresh and crispy. The presentation is also very appetizing. The owners are genuinely nice and have good vibes around their customers. The servers are also nice. They have a pleasant tone when assisting customers and a genuine personality. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who’s looking for good quality Japanese food. BEST SUSHI RESTAURANT EVER!!

Overall, the experience at Sushi Maido is pleasant. Although the establishment is small with a majorly college crowd, the overall customer service experience is enjoyable, and the food top notch. The lunch bento are of significant value and quality, all of which include soup, a light green salad and rice, which makes for a filling and affordable meal. Highly recommend the Tofu Teriyaki & Yam Tempura Maki for a nutritiously scrumptious meal. Servers were exceptionally attentive and kind throughout the experience. Overall, excellent place for a decent bite!
