Taco Bell — Restaurant in Toronto

The Taco Bell franchise have often provided a consistently disappointing and underwhelming service across various locations, but I think this particular location has especially been nothing short of a disaster.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy tacos and the menu the franchise offers, which is why I’m a returning customer. The issue for this location, and apparently many others, is the lack of proper service and the overall disappointment that comes with the food served, even if they may taste good.

Starting with service first, there have been multiple instances in this specific location where only one employee takes our order, while multiple other employees are in the kitchen or elsewhere. Not everyone may be doing something, and when there is a bit of a lineup for orders, you would expect that someone else would be available to take our order especially when there are two stations. However, it’s consistently been one person, and there’s often a lengthy wait time before they take the next person’s order. The location lacks a sense of efficiency, as well as a sense of etiquette when communicating with customers.

As for the food, the particular location constantly disappoints with the portioning of ingredients in the food compared to what is advertised. The tacos and burritos are often much thinner and less filled than what advertisements might dictate, and often leave this feeling of wanting more, which in turn means more spending, and an additional sense of “what am I doing with my money?” My latest order had a rather empty-feeling beef burrito which was essentially 75% bread and the rest being the contents within them, and the tacos lacked much ground beef or cheese in them while feeling particularly flat in nature. The Fries Supreme were especially disappointing in the lack of toppings places over the fries; when I would have expected the fries be drenched in ground beef, cheese sauce and sour cream, those additions are merely placed in a very small portion within the centre of the container. The restaurant didn’t feel like they even tried with the food they serve, which makes the experience highly underwhelming. The only reason why I’m putting 2 stars in the FOOD category is because at the end of the day it still tasted good to some extent, but the franchise and especially this location keep underperforming with food quality that it makes such a location slowly feel like it isn’t worth it.

If you are looking to eat tacos, then this location is not a place I’d recommend. I don’t know much about the other locations as I do not frequent elsewhere, but the franchise has had a notorious habit of underperforming with its food products and giving less than advertised. Absolutely awful. I've been to this location 3 times now, and for the first two times gave it the benefit of the doubt but I can now confirm this is BY FAR the worst taco bell, KFC location I have ever been to.

First, the food quality is absolutely terrible and disgusting. Tacos didn't even taste like they were from taco bell and were missing ingredients. The KFC Chicken was simply inedible, the skin was rock solid as it had probably been sitting under a heatlamp for hours and hours, my guess is they make all the chicken at once in the morning and never again to cut corners. On that note, I've never seen smaller, more shriveled and dehydrated piece of chicken from a KFC ever. In fact, this place hardly even resembles a taco bell or KFC. Had to toss the entire meal this time out of disgust.

Second, and this is tame compared to the rest of the mess that is this place: on all 3 occasions portions of the meal were missing. The first 2 times through the drive through and the 3rd time inside which contributed to this being the last time I visited.

MOST IMPORTANT FOR YOU: Inside is grossly unkempt, the ceiling was leaking some sort of liquid in 2 different spots in the store to which they had placed buckets. There were an un-countable number of flies flying in an around the cash register and behind the counter. The floors were dirty and tables unwiped.

The manager seemed to be very frustrated running back and forth from the register to the back to help prepare the food as they seemed to be understaffed but handling money and watching him go from the customers hands to the food in the back was disgusting and unsanitary. The 2 girls sweating and constantly rubbing their foreheads with their forearms in the kitchen were handling the drive-thru monitors and the food with the same gloves and seemed to be rushed and unorganized.

By the looks of the other reviews posted about this location from months ago, it seems they still haven't fixed these problems and the store continues to operate in unsanitary conditions.

KFC and Taco Bell should be absolutely embarrassed this location continues to operate in this manner and it should be looked into further. I will be filing a complaint with corporate about this location. It will also be the first time i file a complaint with DineSafe and Ontario Public Health. This is just way too far.

2025 Update

Things Change but this Taco Bell Don't

I decided to give this place another shot after two years, mainly because I was starving and it was the only spot open. Figured they’d have improved by now, considering my previous 1-star review, but nope! They’re still #1... in the 1-star review game. I placed a mobile order, showed up 30 minutes late (because, you know, I had to drive from the ends of the earth) and—surprise!—they hadn’t even started making my food. Guess they were too busy serving KFC orders and totally forgot about me. After a little reminder, they finally got their act together, but it still took another 20 minutes. Oh, and don’t worry, it took them a solid 10 minutes just to put my food in the bag. Impressive speed, right? But wait—no sauces. Had to wait another 5 minutes for that, and they gave me one sad packet. Should I have asked for more? I should've known! And napkins? You’re kidding. Another 5-minute wait for those. If you enjoy raising your blood pressure while waiting for cold food and zero customer service, I’d highly recommend it!

I strongly recommend this place if you are on a diet. They care about you more than your family doctor. If you order a Bean Taco, they will give more lettuce and cheese with 1mg of Bean because more than that will give you cramps. Where is the sour cream? Again, they care about your health and don't want to feed with too much fat. Diced Tomatoes, they have just planted a tomato sapling. Hopefully will be ready by next summer ☀️
