Taco Del Mar — Restaurant in Toronto

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE. I went in on Monday May 9, 2022 since it was quesadilla day and decided to order a couple chicken quesadillas. The lady that took and prepared my order looked and acted like she didn't want to be there. I saw her put three scoops of some type of watery shredded chicken/soup mixture into the first tortilla and then she spread it around so thin that it looked like there was barely anything in there. Then for the second quesadilla, she put two scoops of the shredded chicken/soup concoction - one less scoop than the first quesadilla. How does that work??? She then spread that around the tortilla so thin that there were areas where there was no coverage of anything.

She then asked me what I wanted on the quesadillas, I started by saying lettuce which she then told me lettuce is not included with the quesadillas...okay then why ask me? Just put the toppings that are supposed to come with it...which was tomatoes and cheese (does anyone order a quesadilla and not expect for those things to be on there???). I was then asked what type of salsa I wanted (mild, medium, or hot). I said hot salsa for both quesadillas. She packs up the hot salsa into plastic containers, puts them with the quesadillas and starts packing everything up and I ask her if I can get sour cream as well. She tells me the quesadillas only come with one type of sauce, and I should've told her earlier. I told her that she should've told me that when she asked me what I wanted, then she rolled her eyes at me and gave me one container of sour cream and one container of salsa for two quesadillas. Isn't salsa and sour cream a standard dip combo when eating quesadillas?

It also took her FOREVER to get the order ready.

Needless to say, terrible customer service which led to a terrible experience. Quesadillas...

If I could give them no stars I would. I was verbally harrassed by one of the employees here. I ordered online for a pick up. When I came to pick up my Mundo Burrito during a quiet friday lunch, the employee was hostile towards me because she wasnt aware of the online service I used (olo.com), I even tried to show her my confirmation email on my phone but she refused to look at it. She yelled at me to leave because I was "wasting her time".  I told her I would not leave without my food OR a refund. Long story short, she proceded to call the cops on me, claimed to be the manager/owner after I asked to speak to her supervisor, then practically pushed me out the door and locked it behind me. I believe the actual manager came 5 min later knocking on the locked door and I spoke with him about the incident. He offered a free meal and apologized for her behavior. I refused the meal as I was too upset to eat and asked if I would be getting a refund through olo.com. He said yes and I left.

It has been 5 days and I have been charged for the food I did not recieve. I have sent a complaint through the Taco del Mar website to get a refund on Friday. It is now Tuesday and still no email or call from them. I've  tried calling the Bremner blvd. location but no one will pick up and there is no voice mail option. Seems as though I'm sh*t outta luck and lost my money and also traumatized from...

Placed an online order for pickup before closing. I arrived with 10 mins to spare, and the person behind the counter tells me they're closed and would not put my order through. The till was already closed. What's the point of entering our phone number in the order if you're not going to call us to say we won't get our food? The place was already dead so the person had every opportunity to do so. I left disappointed and empty handed, with minutes to spare before their posted close time.

We were also assured that the order would not be charged to our credit card, because they didn't "accept" the order. Welp, our card was charged this morning so here I am writing this review. I am not happy about giving poor reviews to a small business at this time, but based on most other recent reviews it seems my experience was consistently...
