I ordered delivery for three people from Thai Room Danforth and I must say I am disappointed with their problem resolution skills.
I've ordered from Thai Room before, all through just-eat... this last time I ordered via telephone. I gave my name and address to the girl on the other side of the phone and had to repeat my order several times. This didn't bother me at all, I just wanted the food delivered promptly to feed my three starving guests.
The food arrives very quickly as I hoped it would (yay!) and gave the delivery personnel a nice tip for the prompt delivery. I set the bags down, pour my guests their drinks and.... an item is missing from the order. The delivery man was probably just getting back into his car when I called the restaurant back to notify them of the error.
The girl who answered was the same girl who took the order and she was very apologetic. She told me that she would send it over ASAP. Again, I wasn't too bothered.
Two minutes later I receive a follow-up call from a different girl from the restaurant. She asks about the mishap to ensure she has it correct. I respond with "yes". She proceeds to tell me (in an accusatory tone) that, "the guy who packed the order says he packed it."
This is where I begin to get irritated. "Well, I'm looking at the order on my table right now and..... there's NO Avocado chicken here." She puts me on hold. She comes back to the telephone to tell me that it will take 1 1/2 - 2 hours before it can be delivered. "So.... do you want to wait? Or we can put a credit on your account."
I responded and told her that there was no need for the credit as I would not be ordering from their establishment again. The tone that she had was as if we wanted free food so we lied about a missing item.
Thai Room: when a guest brings a concern to your attention, do not accuse them of being...
Read moreI went there yesterday what a terrible experience. I normally go to the location on college, beautiful service, food and atmosphere.
The location on College recommended this location I trusted their judgement, cause I live on the Danforth and this would have been closer for me in terms of location. I order the same thing I do at the College location.
Malay Curry- chicken -Shrimp with coconut rice, I must say the server tried her best to cover for the disrespectful cooks and behaviour that carried out towards me as A client.
I hope this wasn't driven by me being a #Blackwoman, the curry was beautiful as usual, but the potatoes was hard and not edible. I requested to have it cooked some more.
and cooked went off, so I started recording it, I felt like a dog, and unseen and disregarded as A human being, I left their first of all disappointed in humanity and how we continue to hate each other for no reason, I wish I can shared the video he refuse to cook it some more.
I have a pic. of it it was hard and I just couldn't consume it. she ask me if they can remove it instead, I guess she was trying to pls the cook and not the customer, However I am advising ppl pf colour or anyone that love and respect humanity not to go there and eat or support their business, cause they don't seems to caters to minority or respect the way We as Canadians valued each other as part of a community that is trying to be the biggest light and leaders when it comes to peace, love and respect in this world.
I'm so disappointed, hurt and left their in low spirits. what a shame, what a shame, I will never go back there. and I hope my advice is taken into consideration, I wouldn't let that break me or make me treat other poorly, I'll keep contributing to...
Read moreThe following review is for the Liberty Village location.
I called an order in for takeout. I was on the phone for 8 minutes. The staff member did not understand my order. I had to walk her through it. I asked her to repeat the order as I wasn't confident that she would get the order right. Once we got home with the food, we were missing 3 items.
When I called back the owner or manager was absent and "too busy" to return my call as they have a couple of other locations. Needless to say the dinner was ruined and there was no effort in terms of customer service to make things right.
I had left my name and number for the manager to call me back to resolve the issue. I never received a call until I decided to call 10 days later. The managing staff member then told me that they were busy so she forgot to call me back (For 10 days). When I asked what happened with the compensation of the missing items, she stated the owner mentioned something about 10% on the next order. To be fair the food was decent compared to other Thai restaurants (4 stars), but the service was horrendous all around (0-1 star)!
I normally don't write reviews for anything, but I am so unhappy that I thought I should write this review and let the public decide if this is the kind of customer service we want in a Downtown restaurant?
I told the manager I would like to speak with the owner to tell him he's lost my business. We'll see if he calls. For the record I too am a franchise owner in Toronto with over 14 locations. I personally answer all of my...
