I am writing a long pending review. Thee place that serves fantastic food and treats its customer in an imposing way.
A few weeks ago, around 1st week of Aug 2021. My spouse and I ordered food online (2 mains and a starter), and our order was something we weren't satisfied with it. I had written a review stating the issue and posted a picture. The following day the owner had called us and apologised to us after seeing the picture and asked us to come by and do a takeout of the order again. She stated that there were many takeaways, which could have been the reason for our dissatisfaction. For this kindness, I had removed the review because I genuinely felt they had realised the mistake. Truly the owner is a very kind person to speak.
Fast forward a few weeks later, we went to get our takeout, and as we were tired, we requested if we could dine-in instead of takeout. Even though the prices are higher for a dine-in option, the restaurant allowed us to do so. The chef came to our table, spoke to us about the other day and told us that he wanted to surprise us. Such an awesome guy he was. He sent us Thai Basil Chicken or Pad Krapow. OMG, it was out of this world. The best I had outside Thailand. The second main was Devils Chicken, again this too was wonderful. We were also served sticky mango rice dessert with salty coconut milk—again another marvellous creation by the chef.
In the end, we insisted on paying for the dessert and the difference in the prices(between takeaway and dine-in), they insisted on us not to pay.
I felt so pleased as a customer. Indeed, this restaurant reminds me of what Thai hospitality is—overall, a gem in Midtown Truly blessed to be living in such a wonderful neighbourhood dotted with such customer's satisfaction oriented restaurants.

Stumbled upon Thairoomgrand by chance while meeting friends in Midtown, and I can’t believe I didn’t discover this gem sooner! From the warm and inviting décor to the authentic flavors, everything about this place screams excellence.
What we ordered and loved: 🦑 Calamari – Perfectly golden and crispy, paired with a tangy Thai sweet chili sauce. A must-try starter! 🍜 Khao Soi – This Northern Thai curry noodle dish is packed with flavor, blending creamy coconut curry with tender shrimp and noodles. Don’t forget to squeeze the lime for an extra zing! 🥘 Green Curry – Rich, creamy, and perfectly spiced. The mix of fresh veggies and meat options (we went with chicken) made it unforgettable. Pro tip: Ask for rice if you want it on the side! 🍹 Thai Ice Tea – A refreshing classic served with the perfect balance of sweetness and creaminess. Bonus points for the cute umbrella garnish! 🥭 Coconut Sticky Rice – A beautiful dessert made with chewy black sticky rice, fresh juicy mango, and a drizzle of coconut milk. The texture and flavor are divine.
Highlights: ✅Ambiance: Stunning Southeast Asian décor with warm lighting and cozy seating. Great for date nights, family gatherings, or catching up with friends. ✅Service: Attentive and friendly staff who make you feel welcome. ✅Value: At $25-35 per person, it’s super reasonable for the quality and portions.

Read moreCame here with my wife for Friday night dinner. The restaurant looks nice, and is well-maintained. We were seated immediately because the restaurant was empty. The server gave us our menus right away, but then took a long time to come back to take our order (surprisingly long given that the restaurant was empty). Although she was polite, she didnt ask us how the food was. She took our order and next time we saw her, we were done. The food was below average for thai food in Toronto. I ordered the $8 shrimp chips as an appetizer - no one should order these. They're room temperature and flavorless - pretty sure they were a store-bought bag of chips. They add some warm peanut sauce for dip (which wasnt bad) but couldnt make up for the bad chips.
For the main, I had basil chicken, and my wife had the oodles noodles beef dish. Mine was too salty (way too much soy sauce). It had underwhelming flavors, just overpowered by the saltiness. My wife's tasted strange, and the beef was too chewy.
For dessert, we wanted to have Gelato. On their menu, you can see they wrote $6 on top of the $4. That's fine - inflation, and stuff, but it just looked cheap. We were interested in trying it, but when the server couldn't tell us what brand it was, how fresh it was, or anything about it, we just went somewhere else to get dessert.
The place seems to have potential, but the food needs to be executed far better and staff should have more enthusiasm to be there. Might return in a year or two to see if...
