Forgive me father for they have sinned, I was a bit confused, disheartened, hurt, a little broken when I went to the burgers priest tonight. All started well. I placed my order. I got a shake. I patiently waited for my food. And then, like in a movie, the staff vanished. From the back, distant sounds of happy birthday. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for birthdays... but they didn't return after that. I stared longingly at the grill, which I assumed housed my lonely burgers and with shrinking hope of recieving my poutine. I called to them, "Do not be afraid! I will wait for you!". 10 minutes pass. I am certain the staff have been abducted. But hark! A staff member returns!... Only to pass by without a glance to converse with his loitering salad fiend friend (they don't even sell salads there?) Alas! A second staff emerges from the distant back room in order to rehydrate. He sips his water and proceeds to stare at me. I stare back. The intensity of our staring contest will be talked about in hushed, reverent tones for generations. Let down twice, maybe, hopefully, I will interact with a third staff member. Hopefully one who has not been consumed by the cake. Lost in the sauce if you will. Wait. What's that sound? Another contender emerges. A sad attempt at a hero. He plucks a bag from the table of mobile orders. He approaches me. He speaks, "Someone left this on the side". I stare in confusion as I processed this comment standing less than 6 feet from this so called "side". Where no one had been for over 10 minutes. I had been bamboozled. Staring for 15 minutes at an empty grill, unawares that my burgers and poutine were left like i was when my father left to the corner store when I was a child. I clutched at the bag of sustenance, only to realize it had lost its warmth just as I had lost mine that night. Now I sit here, my stomach full of sad patties and a poutine of lies. This may be the beginning of my villain orgin story. Tonight may be the night I lost my faith in The...
Read moreI was picking up an order placed by my daughter over the phone. When it was my turn to be served, a young man clearly very impressed with himself, immediately asked me for my order number repeatedly . I replied twice that I don’t have one, he then rudely raised his voice to say “ why not “ ? And gestured me to line up again even though the order was placed 40 minutes prior. To the manager of the burger priest a few suggestions from a business owner who has been dealing with the public for 30 years: 1- you need to familiarize your staff with a few simple words ( Hello, please, thank you, ....), they are routinely used elsewhere with a very high degree of effectiveness. 2- Never raise your voice on a customer because you don’t know your job. Phone in orders don’t have an order number. 3- Not everyone of your customers WHO IS NOT WHITE IS AN UBER DRIVER. A simple “Hello, may I help you “ would’ve fixed the problem. 4- Your staff has to have a minimum. Service industry is 20% skill and 80% ATTITUDE. This young man has neither. 5- it’s a shame that you loose customers for reasons that have nothing to do with quality or price. I live around the corner from your Yonge and Eglinton location but I will never go back to any of your locations. I could have easily give your staff member a piece of my mind but I held back because of the presence of many other customers and...
Read moreFor the price and location, Burger Priest is amazing.
The staff, Ronan, Jim, and Red are fun and fast. I went there and they accommodated me immediately and suggested an awesome burger. I got Holy Smokes and it's awesome. I had a nice chat with Ronan and Red while I was waiting alone for my burger. Hope to catch Jim, Ronan, and Red next time. You should give me these boys a raise.
I ordered Holy Smokes and it has a double patty and bacon. The patty is pure beef, I can tell by the texture of the patty. The grill was just rightly cooked and juicy. The cook at the time, Jim, grilled the burger just the way I like it. Too bad i already finished the burger before I thought of taking a picture. I also love the fried Jalapenos.
The place is small and simple. It has a fast paced vibe but homey enough to encourage you to dine inside. I like the fun music and the volume is enough to give more life to the place. I hope the place is bigger so I could bring my friends and roommates.
The price of my order is only 12 dollars. Not bad for a freshly grilled double patty, pure beef burger. You can add 6 dollars to add fries and drinks. Still not bad at today's prices.
Overall, I recommend this place 100% and will visit the place or order online if I...
