The Fancy Induced Burger — Restaurant in Toronto

OVERALL: Terrible service and terrible burger, cooked and served by an all-Indian staff with food and service standards much lower than most other burger places in Canada. Don't believe 5-star rating - they literally demand a good review from every customer!

(1) SLOW SERVICE: It's too bad they charge in the beginning rather than at the end - we waited soooooo long. If we had not paid yet, we would have cancelled the order and went elsewhere.

(2) BUN: Small and cheapest quality bun possible. It's cheapest one from a cheap grocery store, that's like 8 for $1 or something.

(3) BEEF: Overly cooked, so it was no longer juicy -- all you'd taste is the grease between two crusty meat.

(4) LETTUCE: I was surprised these guys shred their lettuce into fine pieces, instead of putting leaves of lettuce

(5) TOMATO: Was the only good part of the burger - it was fresh and juicy

(6) KETCHUP: They give these small packets of some generic "Ketchup" brand, rather than good quality ketchup like Heinz. Also, you'd think there would be a bottle of it at every table, so you can help yourself, like a good restaurant. Instead they give you 1 or 2 packs from behind the counter!!! So cheap!

(7) FRIES: The fries was crispy. It was not fresh-cut fries -- it's your typical frozen brand you'd get from grocery store -- the oil it was fried in is questionable. At $6, it was overpriced for what it was.

(8) TRAY: Our food was placed on a single tray - maybe they are short in trays, but multiple people eating from the same plate is way too third-world.

(10) ATMOSPHERE: Hostile -- in a tiny place, I counted at least 3 or 4 security cameras from just a single angle I was sitting - there were probably more. Cameras are great for security, but make them less in your face, as it seems every single bite is watched by multiple cameras.

(11) VALUE: Their most basic burger is $9, and it's definitely not worth that price. I understand that inflation has impacted everyone, but this is just a low quality burger not even worth $5. Their "large" fries was fairly small, for the $6 price tag. Seriously you may as well go to burger king - you'll get ten times better quality food, for a lot less

(12) LOGO: Wonder whose idea it was that a burger with a syringe stuck into it is appetizing. They seem to be so proud of that , as the logo is everywhere, including the multiple copies beneath the paper they server the food on.

(13) NAPKIN: These are similarly guarded behind the counter, just like the small packs of cheap ketchup. Why not have napkins more accessible to the customer? Let's say someone enters the store and tries to steal a napkin - surely it will be caught on the 20 cameras they have installed.

(14) POOR SERVICE: When they are taking your order, they can hardly understand what you are asking - it may partly be a language barrier, as the entire staff seems to be fresh-off-the boat from India. When you check with them to see what happened to your order after a long wait, they tell you bluntly "It will take time". Once you are done your food, they come to your table demanding a good review. FIVE STARS FOR RACIST UNDERTONES?

On Saturday 29th March 2025, at approximately 8:40pm, at Fancy Induced Burgers, 565 Bloor St West Toronto, ON M5S 1Y6, I bought a meal for approximately $19.00. Proceeded to take my seat and wait for the order. A few minutes went by and I approached the register to request for some changes to the order. (Wanted a milkshake instead of a drink). To my surprise, the servers (especially the female cook/cashier) accused me of trying to get another cup (“aside from one already issued to me”) and basically accused me of stealing/trying to steal an extra drink. I kept my cool and advised her to check the cameras before making baseless claims. I then proceeded to “enjoy “ my meal, minus a drink I purportedly payed for. On finishing my fries, I tried to get cup of soda and to my shock, this time I was successful as the gentleman decided to do what’s right. I asked the gentleman if the female cashier/server can apologize, however, he laughed off my request, along with his colleague and said “that’s not possible”, and he remained condescending all through our encounter. I’ve dinned here before, and never had such an experience. Infarct, the last time I was here I gave this place a 5 star on the level of service I received. After staying back to observe how they served other patrons, everyone (white and brown ), were met with smiles and happy faces, and all seemed happy off ‘ the service they received. I left the establishment wondering how and why a “fellow minority race” can do this to a comrade. Anyway, story for another...

Update: I am a regular here, and I never write bad reviews. I had to use the washroom for an emergency, I was coming here to eat but I asked can I ask you the washroom first and then come order. And she like it’s for customer only I was like I’m going to order after, and she was like that’s too bad it’s for customer only. I am on a timer of when I can take my medicine and it was already running but I can’t strip in public so I asked to use it and told her it was an Emergency. She walked away.

She did same thing to a mother and her small child who really had to go to the bathroom before they ordered. And the girl refused to let them before they ordered the kid almost peed himself.

I love the food here, the service used to be good too. Owner please try to tell your employees to be more understanding. Or you’ll end up losing many customers, or even a lawsuit. If it’s a medical emergency and you deny someone use of your bathroom then you are accountable. If it’s not a medical emergency you can uphold any rules you’d like. But that being said should chill out on a rule if paying customers want to use the bathroom room before they order.
