Good ambience. Good food and drinks. Had one negative service experience!

I have been here three times. I will give my overall experience followed by one negative experience.

This is a nice cheerful pub with a good beer menu and classic pub food. Perfect for hanging out with friends on a weekend or even watching a game. My first two times here were great having drinks with friends. Friendly servers and fun.

I went there yesterday to order a Nacho takeout. I told the server to give me a plate of nachos. I was at the counter itself as I was ordering take out. In front of me, he rang the order and gave me the bill. I saw that this was more expensive than the single date nachos I had wanted. So I told him that I had wanted the smaller portion of the nachos and maybe I had not communicated it correctly. All this took place within 30 seconds. He flat out said that the order had been placed and if I wanted the single date nachos he would have to bill me twice and I would have to pay for both the dishes. HE COULD NOT CANCEL THE ORDER 30 SECONDS AFTER RINGING IT. This was wrong because no one would have started working on the order. I did not want to argue and took it. But it left a very bad customer...

On Friday night, July 12, 2024, at 8 pm , I had the misfortune of visiting the Fox Pub in Eglinton to watch the soccer game. What should have been an enjoyable evening turned into a nightmare thanks to the utterly incompetent bartender. Her service was beyond terrible – it was downright insulting!

This woman had the audacity to completely ignore me while serving my husband. She couldn't even be bothered to properly serve a beer, carelessly slopping it onto the glass and leaving the mess on the countertop. Her negligence was infuriating!

When we tried to order food, she couldn't even muster the basic courtesy of making eye contact. We were left wondering if she'd even heard our order or if she just didn't care. Her blatant disrespect towards both my husband and me was absolutely intolerable.

I'm absolutely livid about this experience. The Fox Pub can forget about ever seeing me darken their doorway again. Their staff's complete lack of professionalism and common decency has cost them a customer for good. I wouldn't recommend this place to my...

You either leave a tip or they'll make you feel uncomfortable. We chose a VIP platter, which was satisfactory but not exceptional. After settling the bill and as we were preparing to leave, a server approached us to inquire if we had any concerns about the service.

When we confirmed that there was no dissatisfaction, she informed us that the standard tip is 18% and urged us to consider tipping during our next visit to the restaurant. The body language was not good.

While I understand that Canada has a tradition of generous tipping, it's important for service workers to avoid pressuring customers in this regard and instead appreciate gratuities when offered.

Canada is home to people from diverse cultural and financial backgrounds, and not everyone may adhere to the tipping culture or have the means to tip on every occasion.

I hope the pub's management ensures that servers do not make customers feel uncomfortable when tips are...

Good atmosphere, fine food, but poor service. It was our first time there, and we got Cobb Salad and chicken sandwich. The Cobb Salad was amazing, and it came w “everything bagel dressing”, which is so tasty! The portions were big and the price was decent. The chicken sandwich was good but it could be better with the sauce. It was super dry when eating it. Also, the fries was okay, it would be awesome if there’s some seasoning in it. Service was super poor. It's pretty empty there, but the servers hardly cared about the clients. They barely checked our table, but just chatted with their colleagues and even checked their phones frequently. They acted cold when we asked about the food also. I love their atmosphere pretty much, but I’m not sure if I will go back just cuz the poor service. (Btw there’s some fruit flies around us when we were eating, which was gross :(

For those who enjoy good food and good beers with sports, The Fox is a great place to go alone or with others. The menu has good options of snacks, dishes, appetizers and desserts. The beer and other drinks list is very varied and always has good options. The pub is small, with a large room but not accessible: the passage between one table and another is good for pedestrians but for those using walkers, crutches and wheelchairs it is impossible! The toilets are on the lower floor, and access is via stairs, which is impossible for a person with a physical disability. The service at the house is good, but the afternoon attendant is usually alone, full of activities and with many tables to serve. So be respectful and polite when making your requests. The food is always tasty and very well served
