I want to mention first that the last time I was here (about 7 months ago) I gave this place 5 stars because we got an hour or half an hour free. They don’t have this feature anymore.
I’m writing because I had a disappointing experience today. After a while of not being here, I came in thinking it was around $15 an hour because I was charged $33.90 for my first two hours. I stayed for one more hour and they charged me an extra $33.90. I asked why that was after finishing all 3 hours and turns out they forgot to charge me the extra $33.90 for the second hour. I just wish I was treated better for their own mistake (perhaps compensation for the food or just half price for one of the hours for the mistake). Take my review however you want, but it just wasn’t a nice feeling/experience to feel like you owe more. I regret my visit tonight.
I come here because I appreciate how close it is to where I live, but I think I would rather travel all the way to Yonge & Finch, which is $27 for 2 hours with a bigger room and same machine, including Youtube.
I’m giving the service 3 stars because I understand her position and not wanting to be in trouble, but the owner needs...
Read moreNot a fan of this place. I have been a few times and feel that the atmosphere has changed since first going over a year ago. The price to rent the room is already substantial without the added pressure of each person having to now spend a minimum of $20 on food/drinks. Especially when the food and drink options are so minimal. What happens when you don't want to drink alcohol, pop, or eat shrimp chips but have paid to sing Karaoke at a Karaoke establishment? It added a layer of discomfort during my time there because I didn't want to eat or drink anything. That, on top of the fact that you are asked to tip upon arrival for a service you haven't even received yet feels backwards to me. I get the need to have people pay for the room before starting, but a tip should reflect the quality of service they provide. Otherwise it feels like you're simply tipping to be allowed to use their facilities, and quite frankly, with the service I feel we got, I would not have tipped as much the machine prompted me to. I don't think I'll be coming back. It felt a bit like we had fun in spite of the place and not...
Read moreI paid the $20 deposit to book a room. I had to cancel the booking because something came up. I understood from the K Karaoke's website that, in order to get my $20 back, I'd need to cancel greater than 48 hours before my scheduled booking, so I made sure I did so. To date, I'VE NEVER RECEIVED A CREDIT, so I went there to get my money back. I explained the situation to the guy who was there. I showed him a copy of my credit card statement AND the cancellation confirmation to demonstrate that I cancelled before the deadline. The guy took my number and said his boss would call me. Unsurprisingly, I haven't received a call. There are MILLIONS of karaoke places... I suggest you go elsewhere.
EDIT: I read your response and I don't understand why you're writing about how you contact patrons a day in advance.... that has nothing to do with me. I cancelled my booking over TWO DAYS BEFORE the scheduled time and I STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED A REFUND of my $20. How is it that your website doesn't automatically refund people who cancel before the deadline? I shouldn't have to be chasing you for...
