I appreciate that this place is open 24 hours which is convenient and service is pretty prompt. However, I did find their gamjatang (pork bone soup) quite disappointing. While the flavour of the soup was pretty good, the pork bone soup meat was really tough, lean and dry (not fall off the bone) and kinda not the juicy, slightly fatty tender meat you’d want to have in your pork bone soup. It was difficult to therefore eat because the meat was so stuck on the bone but also not a pleasant consistency. The meat was so tough that it was even hard to get the meat off with chopsticks, which normally should be easy. I ended up bringing the food home as takeout since I hate to waste food and had to boil on low the pork bones for another hour or two until it reached more of a tender consistency just so I could eat what I had paid for to eat. Just a shame because the flavour was there but the meat was not it. Idk if it’s inflation issues or whatnot with them buying lower quality pork bone meat, but they really should get better meat for the pork bone. It doesn’t matter if I’m a 3am diner or a 6pm diner lol— in whatever time, even when super hungry, we still have standards LOL. I would still come to this restaurant again but I’d order something else, maybe a meat/rice dish. I had kalbi here before and I recall it was good so I recommend that. Gamjatang here is a major miss, though, for me at least. I personally wouldn't recommend it but hey, if you’re reading this far, to each their own. Maybe your gamjatang experience will be better than mines. For your $20 sake, I sure...

I first visited Owl on Bloor with my friends last April 30, and we were genuinely impressed. The staff were incredibly accommodating and quick to serve. The food was absolutely delicious—every dish was worth the price! Unfortunately, they don’t have an Instagram profile, because if they did, even more people would discover how amazing their food is.
I even came back alone on May 4 because I couldn’t stop thinking about the taste—it really left a mark! The staff welcomed me with warm smiles and made sure I was comfortable throughout. They even offered a refill of the side dishes, which I truly appreciated. From the moment I walked in to the time I left, their kindness never faded. This place is not just about great food—it’s about great service too. Definitely one of the best Korean restaurants I’ve been to!
And just today, May 30, I visited again—this time with a friend—and it was so nice to be back! The food was still unbelievably good—absolutely worth the price 💯💕. What made the experience even better was how welcoming the staff were, especially Mihji. She was incredibly kind, attentive to everyone around her, and amazing at communicating. She moved efficiently and made sure everything was perfect during our stay. Her energy added such a personal touch to the whole visit.
We truly enjoyed our time again, and I’m already looking forward to coming back. This place continues to exceed expectations, both in food and service. Until...
Read moreOpen till after midnight with no signs of a hurry to close, this old but familiar establishment appears to be a local favourite. Packed full on a Tuesday night but with a quick turn around on tables. Service was quick and precise with food rolled out on trolleys every minute as if on clockwork. Got the house favourite which was of course number #01 on the menu: the Pork Bone Soup. It was tasty and worth digging into the bone pieces. Don’t be shy to take it apart and suck all the meat and marrow off. The meat falls off the bones buy the way. We also had the chicken bi bim bap on the recommendations of diners on their way out. And THAT was the item de resistance. It was absolutely tasty and the essence of toasted sesame seeds assaulted my senses all night, there were also sides of kimchi, sea weed , sweet potato, fish skin and tap water of course. Fees like an initiation rite into...
