My wife found this restaurant online as we were trying to find a place to have a meal with another couple who had helped us although we had not met them personally. I saw pictures of the restaurant and the food online and thought it was a great place to dine in and have a good time. But, to my surprise, the service was below the standards of a restaurant of this kind. The waitress who was serving us yesterday was impetuous. I was incredibly disgusted by the extreme rude behavior of this woman who threw things at my guests. She did not wait till everyone was finished to clear the table. The older gentleman who was sitting at my table was furious as he was treated badly. He asked the server if he did anything to offend her and she said no. 5mins later she came up with a bogus story and said that she has to go to Greece tomorrow and that is why she is so nervous. What? She is older than all the servers there and this is the answer we get for bad service?? What does she take us for? Idiots? She was looking away while serving everyone. She did not give us time to order. She did not know that the ladies should be served first. Her smile was not sincere. It was not a busy hour for the restaurant. Which means she did it on purpose. This woman should be cleaning dishes, not serving diners. I made sure the tip reflected that but no tip would have been ideal in this situation. The management should put a leash on her before she takes down the restaurant. This woman ruined the experience for everyone. I would not recommend this place to anyone any soon, all because of her. Front desk was not super friendly but okay. Food was nothing special, just average. Atmosphere was very nice but little too noisy. Just noticed that there are multiple complaints in the reviews about the service. I wouldn’t have complained if the food was bad. But if the service is bad, I wouldn’t let it go. (I had never met my guests before, so it can’t be just me. All four of us felt the same.) However, the male staff is very nice, Courteous and accommodating. This review is getting 1-Star because of the waitress. I hope this is an eye opener for the owners/management.

My experience here was the most uncomfortable I’ve ever been in an establishment. My friend and I saw the photos online and were confused when we were seated for our reservation. The area we were sat in did not look like the photos at all. The door was also wide open while we are experiencing a cold fall. The host tried to sit us at a table directly in front of this open door although there were MANY available tables in the back and front. My friend asked if we could sit elsewhere and the host CONTEMPLATED as if it would be a difficult thing to do. At first, we thought the location in the photos did not exist, but to our surprise while going to the bathroom, we can see the actual nice area with ample seating. We couldn’t help but question why we were sat in the small, front area where it is cold, instead of the back area where it was nice and expected to sit. Another group of minority women were sat next to us and the hostess pushed tables together for them to sit when the back area has booths that would surely sit the three of them perfectly without her doing extra work. I asked if that area was specific to reservations and was told that it is not, and that walk-ins could sit there. We had a reservation and was still not even offered to sit in that area. I’m not sure how they are deciding who sits where, but it is seemingly prejudicial. The staff were also cold and rude. They wouldn’t even say “you’re welcome” and took forever to tend to our table. Our waitress even rolled her eyes while answering my question. I will not be returning here and would not recommend to others. Overall, the food was decent but definitely overpriced for the portions. Not worth the visit to deal with terrible service. They also automatically charge a 4% “economic relief fee”. Beware.

Went for our Team lunch (party of 9) and everyone had a great time as both food and service were exemplary. Started off with the Saganaki and Grilled Calamari for appetizers. We really liked the Saganaki as it’s not overly salty considering they used kefalotyri cheese. The grilled calamari consists of mix greens, is lightly charred and goes well with the bell peppers, onions, olives and vinaigrette. For our mains, the dishes ranges from seafood where someone ordered the Grilled Whole Sea Bass & Fisherman’s Stew, pasta (Orecchiette Pasta) and meats - Braised Lamb Shank & Grilled Organic Chicken Breast. The star of the show imo is the Braised Lamb Shank. Not really a fan of lamb due to their grassy/gamey taste but nowhere will you get this taste from Volos' lamb shank. Rich, juicy and flavourful, the fall-of-the-bone lamb shank is so succulent. Every bite sets off a happy fireworks on your tongue that you can't get enough of it! Another stellar dish is their Saffron Pistachio Ice Cream. Incredibly creamy and with the predominant taste and smell of the saffron, I really love this dessert. This dessert is swoon worthy and not to be missed here. Yes Volos is on the pricey side but the experience and quality of food alone are worth both the price. Also one of the few restaurants who doesn’t add automatic gratuity for large parties which is surprising since almost all the restaurants we’ve been to are doing this. This practice alone will entice us into coming back to Volos.

The restaurant was beautifully appointed and the servers were very friendly however poorly trained in service recovery. I found the menu to have plenty of variety and the lamb was delicious.

My concern is the clarity of the menu as my girl friend ordered the Orecchiette pasta dish which is described as "Wild Greens, Cherry Tomatoes, Roasted Peppers, Goat Cheese, Garlic, VOLOS Olive Oil." When the dish arrived it was heaped with black olives and asparagus. I understand for some this wouldn't be an issue, however she does not like those 2 ingredients and had they been listed on the menu she would have ordered something different or asked the dish be cooked without. Maybe they consider this "wild greens", but a simple google search quickly verified this was not the case either. When the server came by for a quality check, she politely expressed her concern. He then asked if he could "box it up" for her. This seems like an incredibly disconnected response. She of course said "no, thank you" as she didn't like the dish in the first place. The server then promptly removed the item...no substitution offered...no recooking the dish without the ingredients...no apology...no effort at all...but it still managed to make it's way to my bill. My girlfriend sat and watched the rest of our party eat...I offered to share what was left of my dish with her and she nibbled on the bread given at the start of the meal.

We were with a wedding group of about 10. The server made sure to remember to inform me when presenting the bill that he added the gratuity already. My opinion, the grat wasn't earned given the service shortfall. I felt we had already expressed ourselves clearly and politely and had given the server a chance to recover. I was not going to ask again, while sitting beside the bride and groom who had chosen the restaurant, and paid the $22 for uneaten, poorly described pasta.

It really was a shame, because the rest of the party certainly enjoyed themselves, and I am sure we would have too if the server had been properly trained in how to recover on a service shortfall. I assume a restaurant of this caliber invests in such training as is standard in the hospitality industry -that day however, it was...
