Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!
So, it was my second time staying. First trip was last Sept, biz trip, turned out pretty well. Second trip was 2 weekend ago. It turned out the hotel called up thd police despite I told them at least 3 times there was no need to have any police involved, the front desk still called up the police regardless. So a simple event turned into a big police involved and arrested with undertaking jail time. The next day, hotel manager came with the super rude security to force me leave the room in 15 min saying that I was not listed guest since it’s under my partner’s reservation and my partner insisted on me vacate the room immediately, which was not true at all. The security gave me 15 min even when he saw me in towel just came out shower with my hair still dripping.
The worst part, the hotel didn’t not get the conscent on doing so at all!!!
That security had this nusty look very disrespectful like that I was sort of working lady staying in the room after the biz was done. Nothing give you the power to insult any guest in ur hotel, especially from a security without the conscent.
My question to the hotel: when your guest told you there is no need to have police involved more than 3 times, since there was no argument, no noise, there was no injury, no fight, no complaints from anyone, just someone drank a bit too much in their own hotel room with a bit attitude. When you received the false information leaded from another very drunk guests. After verification by your own security, and told too many times that there is no need to have anyone involved, the front desk lady still called up thd police and created all tons of problem with police report, arrested and jail penalty for someone being drunk in their own room… really??
The next day, your security came to the room with super rude attitude to force me leave the room and lying about he got the instruction by the guest made the reservation…
I am very disappointed to your management and I suggest anyone avoid this hotel if you plan on having a little party in Toronto. Apprently, they call up the police even when you told them there was NoTHING in your room many times! The security would come to escore you out even you are just came out the shower covered by a towel.
You were lucky that I was really tired and torn by the event that your staff created, otherwise, I would totally call up the police for whatever the security did right at the spot.
I encourage your upper management to contact me, meanwhile, I am discussing this event with my lawyer for my formal complaint to your hotel. I might be a woman, I might be small and you might not take me serious, just like your security, but with all the education I have, what happened in your hotel was not acceptable at...
Read moreI stayed for 4 nights at this hotel over the weekend. It was very underwhelming given the price and service we experienced. I would say this hotel has good ratings mostly from people that have a room in the tower section which is the renovated side. Unfortunately we were placed in the historic side and the rooms were very dated and not maintained very well. Our room was closer to the elevator and any noise from the hallway could be heard very clearly as if there was no door at all. This led to poor sleep throughout the duration of our stay. Another issue we had was with the water leaking out of the shower door despite it being completely shut. You can tell by the water damage/mould to the surrounding area that this has been an ongoing issue for awhile that hasn’t been addressed. When I asked for a room change due to these two issues they were not able to accommodate due to being sold out of rooms every day. The only solution the front desk gave me regarding the shower was to place two towels against the door and didn’t even offer for housekeeping/maintenance to come take a look at it. Wifi was also horrendous. The connection was spotty at best and even then so slow to the point I just ending up using my own phone data the entire time I was there.
We chose to stay at this hotel due to the fact that our friend’s wedding was held there on August 31st. While the venue itself was beautiful, the service provided by the hotel staff working the wedding was not great. Particularly the male bartender that was working the open bar that night. I have never experienced a bartender so rude in my life. He would turn people away from ordering drinks even though they were not even close to being drunk yet. He would cut them off and say you need to wait 15 more minutes before your next drink. Halfway through the night he wouldn’t even allow you to order drinks for other people you were standing with at the bar. He wanted to specifically see the same amount of people as the number of drinks you asked for otherwise he would wave you off and not give you drinks. The bride and groom (who paid for all the liquor provided) even got denied drinks. It was an ordeal for the groom just to order drinks at the end of the night because the bartender refused for no apparent reason other than he just didn’t want to do his job. He was muttering rude comments under his breath the entire night when people requested for drinks.
To sum it up, I would only recommend this hotel if you get a room in the tower section. One King West - please work on getting better staff for your bar service. The service provided from that bartender was extremely unprofessional and...
Read moreThis is my second time staying at this hotel. It’s probably going to be my go to hotel staying in downtown Toronto.
Room - The rooms are great. They are mini apartments. Complete with a small kitchenette. That includes dishes, coffee maker, kettle bottle, opener, wine, glasses, etc. Which is great for making snacks and preparing drinks.
The bed area is nice and clean and the TV has a lot of options as far as casting, etc.
The only reason I didn’t give rooms five stars is because the bathroom area is a little bit dated. It’s clean and everything functions well it just looks like it could use An update.
The view of the city city is pretty cool from the big windows.
Check in - Check-in process is extremely easy and smooth. I don’t believe I spent any longer than than five minutes at check-in.
Food - there are some food options there. Unfortunately I haven’t tried any of them yet. We went to the Maple leafs game and after that my husband and I sat at the restaurant with the intent of ordering food however, it was extremely busy and we got put off by that pretty quickly, so we went up to our Room and ordered skip the dishes instead. The food also seemed a little bit pricey.
Amenities - They do have a sauna and athletic room. I’m not sure if there is a pool. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to test any of these things out.
Ambience - Such a cool Looking place. It was a bank once upon a time that has been converted. Very nice vibes. It would be an awesome space for a wedding or big event as well.
Location - Love the location. This is one of the reasons I will continue to return here staying downtown. Walking distance to Scotiabank to watch the leafs. Also walking distance to a lot of great restaurants. As well as the prince of Wales.
Parking - Parking was very easy because we used valet. I showed up there was an attendant right away and everybody was extremely polite in the valet department. Even getting the car out took no longer than 10 minutes.
Noise - I’m an extremely light sleeper but we were up on the 32nd floor so luckily I didn’t hear any street traffic. I did hear some other guest doors but I feel like that’s common of almost any hotel.
The reason I did not give this hotel five stars overall is only because the rooms don’t really seem five star. They are nice, but they are not over the top or fancy and they could use a...
