Hi - While the start of the night didn't go so well, manager Chad and server Kasia turned the night around. We waited at the bar for 30mins before being seated. Not terrible for dinner time and without a reservation in downtown busy location. The problem came when no one came over to provide service or even a name of our server for 20mins. This might have been as a result of being placed in the far back room away from the front of the restaurant or not nearby the bar or maybe due to having two other large dining parties in the same room. Nonetheless, we waited and after waving down someone who I could speak to, manager Chad came by to apologize for the lack of service, there was a mix up and ensured we had a server shortly. Kasia came by and she did a fantastic job to ensure our table and other patrons in the area that were not part of the parties already there had service. We appreciate having been heard and listened to, appreciate getting service when asked and not having to wait any additional time thereafter. If Chad and Kasia hadn't come, I was about to walk out. So thank you for doing what you did and yes, you did turn the slight sour note of night around. Food as usual that I've come to associate the Keg with was fantastic! I really did enjoy the Steak/Lobster combination with Oscar (shrimp and scallops). That sauce was creamy, salty and quite delicious! The accompaniments were fresh and paired well with the meal. My husband very much enjoyed his prime rib, cooked to his preference. Drinks were well curated by the bar and wine with our dinner was fantastic. Thank you again for turning the night around and we would love if the compliments be given to recognize manager Chad and server Kasia. We will certainly be back.

Was pretty let down by this Keg location, and I've been to a lot. The Keg is usually very consistent, which is why we choose it for most of our celebrations. This time, we were attending a Leafs game on Saturday as a Christmas/anniversary gift, so we picked the York Street location due to proximity to the arena. Knowing the game started at 7, I made a reservation at 5:15 to give us enough time to eat and make the 15 minute walk over. I did not expect it to be nearly as busy as it was at 5:15, but it was a Saturday with a Leafs game and close to New Year's. We had to wait a while at the front before they could seat us. It looked like other customers were enjoying a glass of complimentary champagne/wine while waiting but we weren't offered any (but I could see it at the front). After we were seated, the waiter did approach us quickly and we informed him we were in a bit of a rush - so we ordered on the spot. We only ordered a Keg caesar and the 24oz prime rib to share. The bread and caesar came without a hitch. Now the prime rib - not sure if the waiting time felt like it was prolonged because we were in a rush, or if it really just take forever, but usually I don't wait 35 minutes between my appetizer and entrée. I was especially surprised because we did mention we were in a rush, and we could have ordered something simpler if we were informed that the kitchen was slammed / it would take a while for our entrée. We noticed other tables in our sections also looking impatient, and basically vacuuming down their food and getting the bill once it came. We waited 35 minutes for a delicious prime rib, but there were large sections of fat that we didn't touch so it felt more like an 18oz. We also did not get the level of service that I typically expect at a Keg. Usually we do not need to ask for a water refill, as that should be taken care of. Also due to the longer wait time, we could have been offered another round of bread. We usually are also asked whether we are celebrating something special, which I did put in the reservation, but there was no mention of it the whole night. Overall the dining situation put a damper on our night. Not sure if this is normal on a busy Saturday but I think it could have been anticipated by the Keg based on the time of year and Leafs game. I may be back due to the convenient location, but definitely not if I'm on a time constraint.

I made a reservation for 730(during the leaf game) and asked for a quiet booth for me and my wife for date night. Although busy, there were plenty of seats available after further observation. Our 1st attempt was a 2 person table between a bench of other seats(clearly not quiet). Asked for a booth(as requested) and was brought around to the back of the bar. So I'm not sure where quiet was missed but sitting us directly behind a bar area with TV's and fans watching the game clearly wasn't it. Our server arrived and was devoid of personality. Did the bare minimum to make us feel like a welcomed guest. While waiting for our drinks, a table of 6 males was sat directly across from us to add to the "quiet" atmosphere. Needless to say most of our conversation was yelling at each other. Our server took our order and disappeared. We both ordered 12 ounce New York keg classics. Cesar salads, and french onion soup. I had to ask the server if there was bread service which she finally brought to us. My ginger ale was gone when our meals arrived and the server never checked on us. She made several appearances at the male table but literally walked past us without even a check in. The food took an extra amount of time to get to us. The steaks at least saved the night. My med cooked with philly char was on point. After 3 attempts I had a good steak at the Keg on try 4. The loaded baked potato was dry and because my server was absent I was able to ask another for some butter. Our server again didn't follow up to see if the meal was good to refill drinks or to check on us. We had coffee and billy miner pie which again were good. Overall, the atmosphere and service were awful but the food was excellent. We won't be back to this location and I'd look elsewhere if you want to be treated well.

This Keg steakhouse is not only a beautiful space, it's perfectly lit, and has an incredible ambiance. We had a party of 6, and we were there for one of my children's birthdays. Our waiter was really good, really knowledgeable, and very attentive to our experience, expectations, and how we were getting along the whole meal. One of our kids has Celiac disease, and the waiter was a) very knowledgeable about it, b) explained the process of how the Keg protects the food from any gluten, and was very very reassuring and gave us huge confidence that our son would be ok, as he's very sensitive to gluten. The waiter even asked about airborne particles which generally only nutranalists and only really gluten free restaurants that take it that seriously. We even had a visit from one of the assistant managers to tell us that the chef was going to ensure our son had a great gluten free experience and they would do everything they could to make his night great (and it wasn't even his birthday). And they did. We had steaks, one really great salmon Salmon, entree and a Veggy burger. Sides ranged from fries to baked potatoes, to beets, caesar salad. All really top notch. I used to be inclined to hit Harbour 60 or Barbarians, or Jacobs but the Keg has really come a long way - the food was amazing, the variety of veg alone was insane, and I don't think you get the level of service at the other places than you would at the Keg these days - a wonderful night.

Taste: 4 Service: 5 Value: 4 Presentation: 5 Overall: 4.5 rounded up to 5 Hi and welcome to another episode of javing it with Javier. Let's see what we are javing today. Trying out the New York Striploin at the Keg today. Our waiter said it is their best steak so I have to give this one a try! I asked for a medium cooked steak, and surprisingly that's what I got! I was initially worried that they may have overcooked it as a lot of places do, but the meat was tender throughout and I enjoyed the whole experience. The fries were pretty good too and I like how they have some peas to balance the meal. The service was really good. We got a coat check walking into the restaurant, fancy! Our food came relatively fast and our waiter kept visiting regularly to pour us more water and to check on our meals. He even asked us if we wanted to have separate cheques right off the bat before ordering. He should get a promotion haha. The steak costed $35 for 12 ounces if I recall correctly. For Toronto standards that is quite average. And for how much I enjoyed the steak, I'd be willing to pay that price for sure! All in all, food was great, service was awesome, and I really enjoyed my time here. Would definitely try it again in the future. And that's it for today's episode of javing it with Javier. And remember food is life!

First off , we called or ordered in and the staff member repeatedly said to go online they weren't willing to take her order by phone. They eventually listened to my request and started to take our order. They knew nothing about the menu and since we were picking up decided to go in and place the order there. When we arrived the staff member was new and very nice we felt better The management also was at the desk I really felt they heard my displeasure about not being willing to take my order and the staff was very nice . So we ordered and waited 20ish minutes defeating the purpose of a pickup we still were positive got our order they forgot our bread went back in and they apologized about the bread and gave us a nice bottle of water. We drove home hungry and very much anticipated our dinner. 🙄😟 It was proper mashed was hard we found rotten potato within it. I am taking a picture of the rotten potato. We do eat a lot at the Keg we like their menu and we like their atmosphere. And have chosen the Keg . The steaks were not done right the mushrooms were hard and wrinkly. The veg was good the bread was stale and very hard. I was very sad when we woke up today and looked at our food which was placed in the fridge and went to bed hungry.
