Very authentic chinese skewers. They are spicy, fragrant and smokey from the marinade, BBQ spices and charcoal grill.
I recommend lamb skewers, chicken gizzards, chicken hearts and spicy beef tripes. Other skewers and dishes are also great, but the recommended dishes exceed expectations.
Lamb skewers had a good balance of fat and meat. When you eat it hot and fresh, it's magical, like a lamb rolling on your tongue.
Chicken gizzards have a really good texture, both crunchy and meaty. Although the spices used are the same as lamb skewers, it gives a wildly different flavour because of the fat content.
Chicken hearts may sound intimidating, but the flavour is like dark meat, but 3x more intense. The texture is quite chewy, but not hard to chew through. If you ever wanted to try chicken hearts, this is the time and place for it.
Finally, spicy beef tripes come in a pot of boiling broth. It may be slightly chewier than expected, but it is truly the star of the show. Although not described in the menu, you also get skewers of bean curd and potato noodles in the soup.
I am very surprised by the quality of the food and the great service. Can't wait to come back again to try...
Read moreLive cockroaches at the table!!!
We dined in on Oct 23 around 6:30PM. While waiting for the food, my friend saw a cockroach of the size around an inch under a plate. We moved to another table and told the server, we didnt see whether she got rid of it and she told us she’d bring a new set of tableware and utensils. Food came and we ate about 60% of it, then I saw another cockroach crawled out from the thermo bottle of hot water. Im not sure whether its the same cockroach we saw at the first table or somehow theres another one! We got so disgusted so we asked the server to pack the food and we leave. The lady, i assume shes the manager, told us she didnt see anything. By the time she arrives the cockroach was under the table.
There was no compensation no apologies no resolution and no explanation of why live cockroaches were running wild on the table!
We paid $50 for 3 dishes. The food was honestly really good so we did end up packing the leftover home. But i dont think I’ll ever dine...
Read moreWe're really enjoying the new food experience – most dishes were excellent! We absolutely loved the seasoning.
Our only minor feedback is regarding the grilled white fish; we found it a bit too fishy for our taste. Perhaps a more thorough cleaning of the fish belly and removal of the fins and tails could help? Their presence was a bit visually surprising and seemed to contribute to the stronger aroma.
It was quite crowded, but if you've ever been to a night market in Asia, it had a very similar, lively vibe. The staff is friendly, and even though we don't speak Chinese, they really tried their best to communicate, which we...
