The service was extremely slow, the food was cold and the manager needs a course in customer service. When we first sat down, there was about 8 other patrons in the restaurant and a waiter came to our table and asked the usual about the drinks and we ordered the drinks and were left the menus. We finally decided our orders and placed our orders one was a steak sandwich, one was fish tacos and the other was fish and chips. As we waited for our meals not once did either the waiter ( who was actually the bartender ) or any of the waitresses ask us if we would like our drinks refreshed (even though both waitress had walked by ) and in about 40 minutes our food arrived. The fries with the fish and chips were cold and the gravy for the poutine that was ordered as a side for the fish tacos was so cold it wouldn't even melt the cheese and even the steak was cold. We called the waitress over who had served us and told her what was wrong, so she took all the dishes back to the kitchen and the other waitress and the bartender went into the kitchen as well. The waitress that hadn't served us came back out and ask what we would like and I said I would like to pay for our drinks that we had and asked for the bill and told her we did not want to wait another 40 min for dinner and would like to find another restaurant to eat at before it got to late, then another lady who I thought was another patron ( having seen her sitting at a table having refreshments with some other people ) introduced herself as the manager but was not on duty anymore had spoken with the staff and found that we were mistaken and they had decided that the dishes were warm and could not understand what the problem was, so once again I replied that I would like to pay for what we had as our drinks 1 coffee, 1 tea and 1 beer and would like to find somewhere else to eat before it got to late and she continued to explain to me how wrong I was even though we were the customers. So I finally had enough and asked if 20 dollars was enough and she said it was so I put on the table and left. Needless to say I will definitely not eat at the Original Joe's restaurant in Cochrane again. If anyone were to ask I would not recommend dining at this facility. Read moreHad a very bad experience last night at this place. Ordered our appetizer and dinner at 6 pm and it took forever to get the appetizer. We then waited and waited for our main course. Finally had to ask for it again at 7:15 pm and then was told by the waitress that they had to remake it and she did not know why but it would only be a minute and a half until it came. Fifteen minutes later still no food. Had to ask her again and she went to check on it. Another server brought us our meal finally 10 minutes later however it was not what we had ordered for my husband. He had ordered the bowl of tomato and bacon soup with the parmesan crostini's. He was brought a small cup of soup and no crostini's. She was going to take it back but he said no just bring me the crostini's. She brought him crackers! I then proceeded to tell her that it was totally unacceptable and to bring us the proper meal.This very rude woman supervisor (short shaved hair) pushed her way in front of our table and accused me of speaking rudely to "her" waitress and I should stop doing this. I and my husband were very shocked by this and did not even know what to say. I said okay and she walked away. We then decided we no longer wished to eat there and I asked for our bill. The waitress came and said she would cover our bill and apologized for her ineptness. I said "good and thank you" and we left the restaurant. I will never go back. The very rude supervisor is the reason. She did not identify herself or give us her name. She did not even ask us what the problem was and was totally wrong in her assumption that I was being rude to her waitress. Read moreI ordered take out this evening (08/17/2023). We arrived about 10min early to picking up the order so we decided to grab a quick drink before heading out. We sat at the bar and the bartender was great, very friendly, fast and asked if we need anything else and was very accommodating. The atmosphere was only rated a 4/5 because there was a customer who slightly caused a scene (taking to people and ended up getting cut off from drinks) which is not the restaurants fault they handled it very well but was slightly distracting. Unfortunately when we got back to the hotel and began eating we found the dynamite shrimp which we order every time we eat at OJs was over cooked, the burnt batter took away from the overall flavour even after smothering it in sauce. Both the home style fries and the sweet potato fries were also over done as well as the fish (for the fish and chips) had to pick off the batter due to the flavour of the burnt took over and the fish was very chewy due to being over cooked. The mixed greens salad was amazing as usual as well as the tacos, but unfortunately with more than half of the meals being over cooked we were quite disappointed. I can recognize that we ordered later in the night (2100) and that we waited to eat until we got to the hotel so it was warm instead of hot but we couldn’t get over the burnt taste. We still ate as much as we could but still very disappointed since we chose Original joes (even though it’s more expensive than other places) because we knew the food would be better quality and taste great but after this order I’m am going to think twice about ordering/ dining in at this restaurant again.
