ZERO STARS!! AVOID Food here was a rip off and just terrible. It was horrible, if I had known I wouldn't have spent my $55 for our Chinese food. I should have seen the tell-tale signs of #badnews when the person (woman) taking our order was texting as she was taking our order. She acted like we were bothering her, and this was 6pm on a week day 😶. Then, we noticed that it is actually a Filipino place..not Chinese, but we asked if you can order Chinese food here and the lady said yes, in an exercebatted way. I felt guilty, but still have her a chance. We ordered won ton soup - it was made with spaghetti noodles in it :-/, beef and broccoli, which the beef was over cooked and the broccoli steamed ok but the sauce was just wrong. We ordered garlic fried rice (a change, they charge you $8.95 for, and it was basically steamed rice with a bit (say 7?) Peas and carrots. The sweet and sour chicken was cold, and felt like it was not fresh. The spring rolls looked nothing like the regular spring rolls. I was disappointed. Avoid this place, I think all of the ratings they have on here is fake, and I will notify Google as we came here thinking it was ok, and I sincerely want my money back. Shame on you for doing anything for a dollar, and lying to hard working people just to make a buck. This is wrong - say you make Filipino food do NOT say you make Chinese food and try to cross your fingers that we will not notice....
Read moreThis was so great! I understand that over the last year or so, the restaurant has gone under new ownership! So naturally, I was curious to see what the new Wow Chow was like, as I was a fan from the prior owner's days.
I was pleasantly surprised! Our server greeted us at the door, and recommended a few popular favorites. We weren't in the mood for soup, so we went with two of the combination plates.
And they did not disappoint at all! The chicken chow mein was dense and flavorful. The spring rolls were fresh, crispy, and fantastic. The dry ribs were next-level. The chicken fried rice was excellent as well.
Don't forget to pick up some delicious baked goods before you leave! We went with the Spanish Bread, which is a miniature sweet bread roll with a caramelized sugar-creme filled interior of some kind. It's among the best baked treats I've ever had.
I definitely highly recommend Wow Chow! Make it a spot on your regular...
Read moreWas extremely sad to see soggy chowmein when I opened my box.. it's like someone cooked Ramen noodles for 10 minutes and tried to serve them as chow mein. Had I known this I would've asked for a refund. The ginger beef sauce has too much sugar.. Teriyaki sauce is a 4 part recipe, it's not very hard to make correctly.
I would not recommend this "chinese" food to anyone that I care about. It was my only choice, as the go-to for hinton is closed for holidays.
It was $40...
