Very disappointing experience I had at this location. I've followed you guys on Instagram for a very long time and have been waiting for the day where I could finally visit in person and shop the boutique in person since I'm not from the area. I had the choice of doing a day trip to a few difference towns. And I chose to come to Sylvan lake for the sole purpose of coming to Sweet Home On the Lake. What a disappointment that was. Upon entering the boutique, I was not met with any sort of friendly face or smile where a staff member would usually say "Hey, is there anything I can help you with or are you looking for anything particular?" Instead, I noticed the worker peeking from behind different areas of the store, making me look like I was about to shoplift. I have never felt so violated in my entire life. On top of her going around the store and trying to peak at me through different clothing racks without thinking I noticed her, She kept going behind the desk, behind a curtain, but using that as an excuse to come back out to see what I had in my hands. It was a very uncomfortable situation, One I very much regret driving 2.5 hours just to finally be able to see a business I've so badly wanted to visit for years. That was a huge mistake. I did still, however, make a purchase because after wanting to visit you guys for so many years, I wasn't going to leave empty-handed hand. But it was just an overall disappointing experience one in which the staff member made me feel like I was a thief or something. Not welcoming at all, and won't be returning. To put the cherry on top of this whole experience, there was a couple of other girls in the fitting room who got from what I can hear a prime, 10 out of 10 experience. They were being catered to as if they had their own personal stylist, giving options on the outfits she was trying on.... Meanwhile, when I was in the fitting room and I asked just for a different size in a sweater, It took five minutes for me to have to open the door myself and ask her where the new size was, Only for her to say they don't actually have it in the size I was looking for... I'm sorry, but what kind of customer service is that? Don't you think knocking on my fitting room and telling me that you don't have the size is something you should've done instead of having me wait in a fitting room half naked waiting for you to return? It doesn't seem like they do this to every customer, but they definitely pick and choose who they want to be friendly too based on I'm assuming what somebody looks like. Very disappointing and after years of built up excitement to finally visit you guys, it was a bad choice. If this is supposed to be a boutique that empowers women, you should definitely treat every woman the...
Read moreUpdated Review! Please be aware that Iâve updated my review. A few days after the cancellation, I was contacted about a dress being brought in for me specifically.
Initial Review: I never thought I'd be posting an unwell review here, but there's a line that got crossed for me.
Typically when I shop here I am usually content. I haven't been blown away with service, but it's been a typical walk in to shop. Also please note, that while I still believe everything they sell is really great quality, the store is clean, people friendly, this is a customer service and process issue that can't really be ignored.
Starting with Facebook messenger. They had recently been looking for vendors for their weekend markets. I had excitedly messaged, message read no answer - messaged again, and same thing, the message got read but never responded to. Even if my service was not what they may have been looking for, or just simply did not want, I would never know as I got overlooked without a response.
Here's the kick to the gut for me.
On Sunday, I placed an online order for in-store pickup for a dress that I definitely was excited for. But come now Wednesday, I still had not received a notification to come grab my order. I gave a call in, and was surprised to find out that there is no dress there for my order, and that it had been sold out. OK, no problem, as it stands the Canmore location is showing stock from the online store. A call would be made to the other location for a transfer of items.
I get the phone call back fairly quickly and am notified that no, this dress is sold out across the stores and that I will need to receive a refund. I'm more than disappointed that this appears like no big deal to the associate, but to me this is a little serious. If I had not called in, when exactly was I going to know that I wasn't getting my order.
Of course, frustrated, I check online as yes, Canmore is still showing stock. So I call. (The number online being wrong is more funny to me than upsetting). The girl who answered my call was aware of the transaction, but said they could not find the dress in the store but had mentioned also that based on the description they couldn't find the dress... so we haven't confirmed that we know which dress, not even a QUICK online search.
Anyways, I'm an hour out and I'm still waiting on confirmation or acknowledgement that I'm to receive a refund. I'm really frustrated on how my last few transactions have went. It's hard enough to find a favorite store, it's harder to have to call out a flaw.
Update: my order was cancelled by the store the next day after my initial inquiry to where my order was. Refund to be expected 9-14 business days, after the original 4 days of order...
Read moreStopped in here after driving past and thinking we would support a small, local business.
I wish we had gone to Tim Hortons or the Bakery near Big Moo.
I arrived at around 1pm, understandably it was lunch time so I expected a slight delay as I could see it was busy.
I found the entire process from order to food collection chaotic. The que to order your food is same as anywhere else and sadly, the smiles end after ordering.
We were told to go down to the end of the till area and the food would be out shortly, I am not sure how they define shortly but id given up after standing in front of the toilets looking like a stalker for over half an hour.
I then said to the very stretched and busy staff to come and find me when the food was ready as I had waited for what seemed like an age. The food prepper lady came and brought the food out, dropped half of it on the floor and proclaimed that she had 20 other sandwiches to make before ours and that they were not "Mcdonalds"
Sorry, but if you are taking 30 minutes to cobble together some food, it needs to be a table service cafe. Myself and several other customers were becoming frustrated but no attention was paid to it.
I witnessed food being incorrect, cakes with no cream and missed drinks from other customers orders so I am not surprised things took so long.
Lets move on to the food shall we, the fun doesnt end here. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and what arrived was the smallest muffin I have ever seen with half a slice of bacon in it, an egg and a slice of cheese, the presentation was rubbish because it wasnt even centered in the muffin, half hanging out the side, I cannot believe I waited 35 minutes for that muffin and boy was I dissapointed.
My daughter ordered a kids "mac n cheese" and she reported it was OK. My wife had a swiss & ham panini which was effectively a sandwich with two piece of bread, not a panini at all. The first order of her food ended up on the floor due to the rushing waitress.
The cans of San Pellegrino were absolutely bang on, best bit of the lunch in my opinion.
The view was also nice.
I absolutely would NOT return here sadly, I should have stuck to what I knew and gone with where we were originally going.
Save your money and your precious time and go elsewhere.
Glad I...
