I went to Delphi with my fiancée, and we had the WORST experience that we have ever had at a restaurant in our entire lives.
My fiancée ordered chicken wings. She offered me one to taste. When I bit into it, I noticed that the bone was bloody and the inner flesh was pink and uncooked.
When we told the server that our food wasn’t properly cooked, she lied to us and told us that the food was fine. While we were looking DIRECTLY at the pink and uncooked chicken flesh and bloody chicken bones that they served us.
When we asked what they would do about the issue, the server apologized but in a manipulative way. She started to look at us all doe-eyed and said, “Oh nooooo. We’re soooooooo sorrrrryyyyyyyy.” At that point, she offered to take the wings off our bill, but she wanted us to pay for the rest of our meal.
After all of that manipulation and dishonesty, I asked her and her coworker to call the manager and fix the issue. We also got the manager’s phone number and told the servers that we would call him if we got very sick.
I have an educational background in Biology, so I knew that Campylobacter and Salmonella were two of the many things that could infect and kill my fiancée and/or me because of Delphi and their error.
When I explained the risks of uncooked chicken to the server, they truly did not care. They were more concerned with trying to stop us from getting them in trouble with the manager AND not letting more people in the restaurant figure out what was going on.
The manager asked the server to take everything off our bills, but it was too late by then. My fiancée and I were so turned off and grossed out by everything that had just happened… that we didn’t eat the rest of our food at all.
I didn’t believe that we could trust them, because they tried to hush us up about their lethal and uncooked chicken.
Unfortunately, my fiancée ended up getting quite sick (food poisoning!) after eating Delphi’s pink and bloody chicken. She is no longer able to stomach chicken AT ALL due to the trauma of the entire Delphi experience.
We will never eat at this establishment again. We will warn everyone that we know.
We will also be reporting this restaurant and our experience to Fraser...
Read moreLet me save you some time (and your appetite): skip Delphis unless you enjoy being ignored, misled, and served sushi nightmares on soggy bread.
From the moment we sat down, the service was a mess. No one came by to take our order until we flagged someone down. We asked for two coffees, and the server asked if we wanted cream, we said yes.
15 minutes later: Still no coffee. Not even a flicker of acknowledgment. And this was with the restaurant half-full. When we finally flagged someone down again, she dropped off… the bill. The bill. For what?
We explained we hadn’t even received our drinks. The coffees eventually showed up, but before we could ask about the cream, the server spun on her heels and vanished. Meanwhile, several staff stood idly by, waiting for food to come out of the kitchen. When we asked again for cream, it took another five minutes.
Then came the Crab Cake Benedict.
Spoiler: there’s no crab. None. When I asked if there was any real crab in it, our server grinning like she was part of the con said, “Oh no, there’s no crab.” Excuse me? The menu doesn’t mention imitation crab anywhere, which is wild considering it’s one of the most expensive Benedicts on the menu (California rolls are the cheapest for a reason). I pointed that out. Her response? “Do you want to order something else on top of your order?” No apology. No fix. Just a shrug and then she disappeared like the cream did earlier
The dish itself? Picture a soggy California roll slapped on an English muffin. That’s the vibe. Bland and somehow both sad and insulting. No seasoning, no effort, just straight-up disappointment.
When we asked for the bill (the real one this time), the server walked over, said absolutely nothing, and wordlessly handed us the payment machine like we were paying a fine for poor judgment.
Do yourself a favor: go to The Best Grill instead. It’s charming, the food is fresh, and the staff actually treat you like you exist. I genuinely have no idea how Delphis has such...
Read moreI went to try out this place today and saw a huge line-up. It looked promising so I signed up for the waitlist and 30 minutes later the table was ready. The atmosphere inside was subpar: lack of ambience and the structure of sitting places made it look like you are expected to quickly order, eat, pay, and get out. It's ok, I thought, maybe food is much better? Anyways, I ordered shakshuka and a regular coffee. Coffee was quite acidic so I asked for some cream to make up for it. The server seemed annoyed and gave me 3 little creamer pods, and it definitely wasn't enough. When I requested more they said they can't give more, and coffee is "just fine as it is". Ok, I thought, maybe the server is busy and just having a bad day. I shook it off. When they brought shakshuka, I was surprised to see it looking like just a very soupy like substance with broccoli and green beans in it. I was very surprised as this is now how shakshuka is made at all. They gave me one small piece of crostini bread which definitely wasn't enough. The bread is sort of the main substance you want to use to eat shakshuka. Oh well, I thought, maybe it's their own recipe, maybe it's good? I had to ask for spoon to eat it because, again, one crostini bread isn't enough, and the server sort of laughed at me which I found odd. All in all, I'd say this tasted like can of tomato paste mixed with some water, few greens mixed in it and some overcooked shrimps mixed together with few eggs on top of it. The meal didn't look presentable and despite my honest efforts to try to like that meal and the place, I am disappointed at the quality of food and service. The server made unnecessary remarks, the food was not up to the taste, and the coffee was rather low quality. I'd highly recommend going elsewhere for a better food and...
