On December 31, 2020, I ordered takeout from Milestone's. It was a very disappointing experience.
For lunch, my family and I ordered the Mile Size Portobello Mushroom Chicken and a Pesto Chicken Penne Asiago. It cost a total of $66.15. The Mile Size dish sounded like giant dish that would be worth the $42 price, but we were quite disappointed to see the portion size. Upon calling Milestone's, the kitchen lead Eduardo wanted to turn this negative experience into a positive one. He offered a complimentary appetizer and dessert. All I had to do was call 30-60 minutes ahead of picking it up so the kitchen could prepare it since they would be busy with new year's eve customers. I called Milestones at 3:47pm and told them that I would arrive around 4:20 to 4:35pm.
When I parked in the curbside pick up stall, I called Milestones at 4:35pm. The receptionist said she will be "right out". After 10 minutes, I saw 3-4 takeout bags sitting on the counter so I walked into the restaurant to ask if one was mine. The lady said she will check on the order. She didn't.
After another 10 minutes, I walked into the restaurant again. The same lady saw me coming and unenthusiastically said she will check on my order but went back to doing her other work.
At 5:00pm, Eduardo came to apologize. He said he got my order mixed up and it's not ready. He offered to deliver it to my home. I thought that was a nice gesture. When I wrote my name, he realized, "Oh! Cynthia! Your order is ready. Hang on.". He then went to grab one of the takeout bags that was sitting on the counter for the last 15 to 20 minutes.
We waited a total of 30 minutes for our order despite calling ahead of time. This delay also made me late for an appointment. I told Eduardo that it was not a positive experience. There were 3-4 employees standing at the front to greet customers and take them to their tables, yet none of them were willing to check on my order.
This poor experience will unfortunately prevent me from recommending this...
Read moreWell, I'm a fool. I thought Milestones was loooooong gone! They were a much loved place for me in the early 2000's and I truly thought they didn't make it since I'd never seen one alive since! Turns out they are around, and we were at the Langley one for dinner last night (Fathers Day).
First off, ample parking. We like that. Next up, it has a cozy interior that thankfully lacked the pretentious vibe of an Earls or Cactus Club. Womens bathroom was great but a tad hot with lots of hot air pouring out of the vent, lol. Too hot for this menopausal lady!
We started with the spinach and artichoke dip and no complaints. It was ridiculously tasty. It was served with very fresh tasting chips. I hate it when you get broken up, down on their luck ones.
Being a vegetarian I was worried about finding something to eat, but there was lots to be had and even a protein add-on of crispy tofu! I should have added that to my salad, but I didn’t. I opted to dive back into my last time there ages ago, and go for one of my beloved dishes - a chilled mango noodle salad type thing. You can tell 20 years have passed and the prices of food are through the roof. Barely any mango and alot of greens! But, on the whole it was tasty and the dressing was delicious with just a touch of heat.
My Guy had the smash burger and fries and raved it was a really great burger and left him filled. We had a couple beers, a Caesar and called it a night.
We're a bit biased on our server (sat at the bar) since he's rather special to us, but service all around from everyone was top notch. I absolutely want to go again and try the Tofu Lettuce wrap, veg burger and...
Read moreThe last two visits to the langley milestones has essentially guaranteed that I will never go back. I actually wanted to give zero stars but apparently you have to give at least one.
We used to go all the time and loved it but since the owner ship and staffing changes. Everything has gone down hill. Milestones used to be a nice place to go. Well dressed attractive staff, Amazing food and great service. The cheap off grey collared shirts and jeans feel like an old diner A waitress (taylor c) that only takes your food order while your drink order is taken by someone else and that person brings out your drinks after having sit on the bar for 10 minutes (based on a stella no longer having any foam) This person also brought out our food. (I will say the gentlemen (jordan) who did most of the work on our table was quite good) Our server showed no interest for how the meal was even though the chicken sandwhich plate had almost all the bread on the plate.
On top of terrible service the food quality was better than McDonald's but worse than Tim Hortons (burger tasted like char and the chicken sandwich had enough toppings for a 1/4 of a piece of the bread they give you.
The restaurant it self is in disrepair ( exposed subfloor where carpet is torn up) in general it is just dinge and dirty overall.
If these are all company wide changes then I feel sorry for them as I don't see a restaurant of this low quality lasting long. Based on the 6 tables that were in the restaurant with us.
It's sad to see a once great restaurant chain go...
