Me and my friends decided to go to Sammy j peppers after work. I arrived first and told the host I don’t mind if we sit in the lounge or dining area. So she took me to the lounge and sat me at the furthest seat in the back by the kitchen and restrooms. I sat down and began to feel uncomfortable from the noise of the plates and staff talking in the back. I kindly asked the server if I could sit at one of the other empty tables. She replied with “we have a party coming at 6 so if you will be out of the other seat by 6 then I will move you” (It was about 4:30) I was startled by her response and I kindly said nvm because I was unsure how long we would be. My friend arrived and was also not happy with the spot of the table so ask another waitress if we could move tables, she says “Ok I have to check with another waitress, one sec” 10 minutes pass and nothing happens. We continued to eat our meals and about half and hour in we start to see them get ready for a Christmas party. At this point our waitress starts to rush us. We are mid meal and she says “would you like a box” and I reply with “no we are still eating”. Each waitress that passes are table at this point is giving us the stink eye because I think we were a bother for this big Christmas party that was about it arrive. Our waitress comes back again and says would you like the bill. At this point we are getting frustrated because we are paying customers, and we could tell they were trying to push us out. I say to the waitress “Actually no I would like another drink”. After my last drink and still taking bites off my meal we finally get the bill. After we pay we just sat for a bit enjoying each other company, at this point the host comes up to us. She says “Are you guys doing alright?” and we say “Yes we are fine, why is there something up?! Because we feel like you guys want us to leave” she then say “Oh we just have a big Christmas party coming in and we are getting ready for it” I proceed to tell her “That is great for you guys but be are also paying customers, and It feels like you guys are trying to push us out”. She try’s to cover her butt and says “Oh no uhhh not at all” I reply with “Then we are going to sit here and enjoy our evening, thank you very much”. She walked away at this point. For being one of the nicer restaurant in Langley I am definitely not impressed with the way we were treated tonight. We did not over stay our welcome. It was 2 hours max and we spent well over $100 on drinks and dinner. I don’t appreciate feeling like I’m being pushed out of a restaurant when we are paying customers. They should prioritize the customers they have at the moment. Not the “big Christmas party” that is about to arrive. Do better. 3 stars because the...
Read moreSammy on the drier side…
It has been awhile since I last been to any Sammy’s and this was the first time visiting this location.
This place is located across from Willbrook Mall in Langley. There are parkings available in the plaza parking lot. Inside is a bar section to the left and a dining section with booth seats and tables to the right.
Here were the food I ordered after scanning through the menu;
Original Caesar drink. It was okay, needed to be drunk before I say it’s good. Cream of tomato soup. It was hot, rich and creamy. It’s one of those you either like it or hate it, but I personally find it a bit too paste like almost like pasta sauce. Wings and drumettes. It was on the small drier side with a southern hot sauce. Panang curry mussels. The sauce was okay but the mussels meats were a bit overcooked and small. Felt like another one of those frozen prepackaged ones. Mini cheeseburgers. The patties were pretty dry. Coastal salmon. That’s one thing about sockeye salmon, once overcooked it will be dry and powdery, needed some mastery skill to get this dish done right. Cajun chicken linguini. The sauce was okay but the linguini was a bit undercooked.
Overall, the atmosphere was casual but the noises projected from the bar section were quite loud. The service was okay and pretty straightforward from the staffs, tho could be a bit more attentive. As for the food, more of an old school pub style and a little on the drier side. Not good enough for me to travel a distant for.

Read moreFirst time visiting last night as we just moved into the neighborhood and looking for a new spot for date night. The vibe was a bit too loud even on the restaurant side but it was crowded so that's expected. Service was excellent even with it being very busy. Our server was great as was the hostess. Unfortunately the food was garbage. I'm sorry but if I'm spending 100.00 for a meal with my husband I expect actual food. The app of seasoned cauliflower was decent but could have been a bit more cooked. My husband got the steak frites I got the cast iron chicken. His steak was frozen at some point and had a bad after taste. My potatoes were instant mashed potatoes, disgusting and inedible. The asparagus was over cooked mush with zero seasoning whatsoever. The chicken is supposed to be a Cajun inspired blackened chicken but it was just two tiny extremely overseasoned breasts. FYI blackened chicken is done by scorching a bit of paprika and other seasoning you can also use a little Browning for color but the amount of seasoning was disgusting and extremely salty. I ordered a side of "Cajun cream" as I could smell another customers dish and it smelled great but it was just jarred Alfredo with the same gross seasoning used for the chicken. What a waste of a great opportunity to be a good restaurant. Real food is cheaper and better but to serve customers instant trash food is insulting and disrespectful. Again service was amazing which is probably the only thing...
