After getting a brief tour of Fort Langley and the market by our local tour guide, we wanted to find something to eat! This person has recommended this establishment as one of their favourites and I was very excited to check this place out!
As for the pricing goes, I would say the price is reasonable given the portion size. After waiting for five to ten minutes, the food came out delivered right to our table. As patrons, you are required to pay for the food up front and the employees will deliver it to the table. The local tour guide was very passionate about the town and the various food selection items on your menu. There were many options to choose from and it was very difficult to pick. I really wanted to try the breakfast, but unfortunately, breakfast was not sold in the afternoon.
I myself ordered the chicken burger which contained: grilled chicken, avocado, smoked bacon, smoked cheddar, butter lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, mayo on a pretzel bun, artisan greens. From the very moment you devour the item, you get a strong taste of bacon and the healthy green stuff. I also found the buns to be a little too big given what the burger contained. (Perhaps, I do not know how to eat a burger properly) The first few bites were great, but after eating it for a while, it just started to taste bland. Not to say I disliked it, but it just didn't feel as exciting for the last few bites. I didn't think there was enough chicken or bacon in my opinion. The burger also came with some salad, but I would have much preferred french fries or a soup for that matter.
I see the local tour guide and my friend enjoying their food; I could see the happiness as they gobbled up a burger fiercely and atrociously. I will try the other items when given the opportunity.
The book store was a unique concept and certainly adds to the positive vibe.
I will love to try the breakfast next...
Read moreMy wife and I have gone here many times and we always seem to be less than happy over-all. We always return hoping things have improved. On this day we had a scone each, the scones were quite good I had the Cranberry orange (picture) my wife had the cheese. I noticed they had a large commercial espresso machine with a staff member doing Lattes, I ordered a flat white, the girl at the till told they don’t have flat whites. I explained that it was simply a frothed milk and espresso. The girl at the machine told her she could do it. I was told my order would be brought to the table. I was given the scones, I had to ask for butter, she brought that right away, but then I had to ask for a knife. I went to my table and then my wife returned from the restroom. I went to order her a flat whit as well but as I stood in line I noticed the girl at the espresso machine was gone and there was now a male barista. While I waited about 4 minutes in line I noticed the barista running his hands through his hair while he stood over the espresso machine. He did this 10 times as I counted while I was in line. I decided to order a brewed coffee for my wife. Upon returning to the table my flat white was Luke warm and not very tasty at all. My wife’s coffee was very weak tasting, no real body to the coffee. Very one dimensional. We always hope it will be good but there is always a component that is not good. This place is very popular, I believe it is because it’s pretty much the only choice. I recommend to grab your pastry or snack and head down the street to Republica Coffee for a...
