Stopped by for a quick meal and was so glad to discover this gem! Super friendly owner, food was delicious and filling, and the iced Vietnamese coffee tasted very similar to the ones I’ve had in Vietnam this year. If you’re vegetarian or plant based, plenty of options here! I had the Spicy Vegan Noodle (Bun Bo Hue) and it hit the spot. It’s hard to find a place that does this dish well and vegan, they included plenty of tofu and veggies, and the spice was just right and not overpowering. I know with the Broadway construction it can be discouraging to patron establishments along this corridor but please continue to support small businesses in this area! We want them to be around when the construction is finished. The owner was super friendly and explained that she was mostly plant based herself and I loved that she was so proud of her vegan dishes! Plenty of meat options here as well, great options for a variety of diners.

This restaurant serves Vietnamese pho, sandwiches and rice dishes as well as Japanese ramen. I ordered their Sunshine pho which has meatballs and sliced beef and one raw egg on top. I thought that was why it was called Sunshine pho. That was what it shows on the menu. When I got the pho, it had a Japanese style poached egg instead. It is kind of weird to have that on my pho. Nonetheless, it tastes good and still has soft egg yolk. The soup base tastes okay. It can be a bit hotter in temperature. Once I added the raw bean sprouts in soup. It just feels lukewarm. Rice noodles cooked well and were not too soft which is nice. Overall, it was good. There are 2 sizes on most soup. Medium and large. I would come again when I am in this area.

Omg. This is amazing! This is place is certainly under rated. As a 10year+ Phó enthusiastic, I enjoyed a taste of Vietnamese food. But this restaurant has not only a taste of authentic Vietnamese food, but also the authentic street food from Vietnam! This one I ordered, special crab vermicelli noodle, is a local street food dish in Vietnam. It has seafood and minced crab meat, the soup is a tomato based soup. It has some fishy smell so if you don’t like it, try some else. Otherwise it’s very good! It’s the thick vermicelli noddles too. The meat portion is also reasonable for a large size, it has sliced beef and fish cake in the soup as well.

Lemon Grass Chicken on Rice

I have had this dish from many different places and I make it on my own every once in a while. I ordered this dish twice. The first time was takeout. The 2nd time I ate in.

The first time was ok but not great.

The 2nd time however, the chicken I ordered didn't taste right. After the first bite into the chicken, I stopped eating immediately and asked the server to take it back.

I understand that sometimes things happen and things can turn "sour" (pun intended!). The server took the plate behind the counter and brought it back after a few minutes. She claimed that she tasted the meat and said that the meat was fine. Further claiming that they sell a lot of this dish and marinade their meat everyday. Therefore rejecting my idea that maybe that piece of chicken was at the bottom of the marinade bin. For the next 10+ minutes, she just left the plate there and completely ignored me while I watched my friend finished her pho. Evenutally, they took it back and offered to take my order for something else.

I was shocked to see how...

Wow, the recent poster is spot on, the chicken vermicelli with spring roll is absolutely fantastic, just wow. Ordered tonight, and Could be the best ive had in the city, almost reminds me of this hole in the wall off Cambie 15 years ago thats since gone that was a 24 hour spot, but this is way better. Super fresh, not greasy, supppper tasty, chicken super juicy, veggies fresh and crisp, spring roll is just crunchy and mega tasty. When it comes to the chicken vermicelli spring roll, just give it a try. And the price is on point. Seriously, try it, with extra fish sauce. If you dont like it you simply dont like this dish or dont have taste buds. I am a non drinker, non smoker, amateur home chef who loves this dish, so I know my tastes, and no restaurant been hitting so far recently in years when it comes to this dish. Make sure you have fish sauce, siracha, and hoison at the ready if you like. I cant speak for the rest of the menu because I only order this dish, but WOW, guys keep this quality up and im going to order again,...

I have been eating here since 2015 and always my top pick when in the area. The first feeling I get is that it's a place that is made of love and care. The place has a quaint, homey and comforting look, painted an unique purple on the outside and traditionally decorated inside. Normally, she will be in the back cooking so it may look like no one's there, but Van (the owner) is friendly, warm and welcoming when she sees you. She wants to share her culinary culture with others, and she made all her food from scratch without artificial ingredients. I am always able to enjoy her vegetarian options (and she has expanded her vegetarian and vegan choices), knowing it's clean and lovingly prepared to nourish your body and soul. I love her veggie noodle soup and always taste the flavours of fresh herbs, vegetable and spices. Last time, I tried taro cake and it was out of this world. It might take some time for them to make it but that's when you see how much details and care they put...
