I hate leaving negative reviews but feel obligated in this case ... We all deserve a delicious Granville Island experience, right? We were craving fish and chips and, because we'd been walking for a while in the heat, decided not to walk the extra 10 minutes to Go Fish on the pier, which we love. It was a big mistake ... We shared the appetizer platter and only the single prawn was enjoyable. The fries were mealy and flavorless, hard but not crisp, and the fish was soaking in oil and overdone. I'm guessing the fryer was overcrowded or the oil temperature set too low ... Anyway, it's a mistake we won't make again. Read moreThis is a staple in the Granville island food court and has been here forever. It is just me or did it taste better before. I think it has changed hands a lot of times since the 90’s but the recipes should be the same no? I ordered 2 clam chowders but found it disappointing. Tiny seafood bits with the majority of it being potatoes without the true creaminess of an original chowder. Feels like a lot of starch and it tasted bland. Also don’t remember Vietnamese salad rolls being on the menu. The economy is rough so I get it but I think it can up the quality slightly considering it is in Granville island. Still a huge line though, so maybe the fish still holds...

I got the sampler for $27 and expected at least 2 pieces of prawn and oyster. There is only one small piece of prawn, and one small piece of oyster along with maybe 6 pieces of calamari, 2 pieces of tentacles and a cod. Most of the cod was over covered in dough. It came with re-fried fries (I could tell since I worked at A&W when I was young) and the dough around the oyster was undercooked.
While they were cooking it, the staff preparing in the back was eating her lunch in front of the prep station and holding her iPhone with her bare hands...
