I've passed this restaurant almost daily when I commute, so thought I'd try it. There was no wait and we were seated at a communal long table, which soon got filled up as additional diners arrived. The decor is pretty simple but clean and well maintained. I'm always interested in Indian Chinese food as it's definitely spicy and the menu had lots to choose from and reasonably priced. We ordered the Prawn Wafers while we waited for our food to arrive and they came fresh out of the fryer, so very oily. We ordered the chicken wings, which was a nice sized portion but served with a Very spicy Chilli Pepper mixture. I couldn't eat more than a couple of bites. I'll order a different flavour if I go again. My husband who LOVES anything spicy and chicken wings also couldn't eat it. We also ordered Chilli Prawns and they sound like lots of jumbo prawns but a small serving served on a bed of the Prawn Wafers - wish the server had mentioned this when taking our order, we'd not have ordered the other one! I really liked the prawns, they were very tasty and not as unpleasantly spicy as the wings! Will definitely order this again. The Lamb with Blackbean Sauce was delicious. The Singapore Chicken Noodle dish was OK. Overall the portions are on the smaller side, when they say it's spicy, probably very spicy, the food arrived reasonably quickly. The servers were around but not overly hospitable. The menu has no pork on it so a great option for folks who don't eat pork or pork products and who enjoy the spicy Indian Chinese food. They do have parking here but really awkward spots so give yourself a bit of time. There is parking on the streets too. I might go back another time but not any time soon.

2025 UPDATED REVIEW: This place is such a gem. Service is good (if they’re not absolutely swamped) and food is delicious. I recommend the Manchurian paneer, I love the fried veggies. Chili paneer, chili chicken, Manchurian fried rice, Hakka chow mein - all delicious. Everyone I’ve taken here has enjoyed it. I don’t know what I will do if this place ever closes. Thank you chili pepper house!! 2022 REVIEW: My partner and I love this place. We discovered it a few months ago and have been ordering almost weekly now. We always get the chilli paneer and the manchurian paneer. I’ve also tried the house paneer and veggie fried rice. I’ve been happy with all of my orders. My partner is vegetarian so I have yet to try any of their meat dishes but I really want to someday! Service is great, we even preordered delivery and it’s as very timely! As we’re in Vancouver, our options for Indo-Chinese are limited to this place and Green Lettuce and I personally prefer here! To the owners and chefs, thank you! Updated review: Today was NYD and we ordered for pick up. The restaurant was extremely packed and busy when we arrived (good for them!), we did have to wait a total of 2 hours for our food which would have been fine if that was what we were quoted. Food was still delicious and I really commend the chefs for their hard work today. I understand that a busy day may not have been foreseen however a bit more communication from staff would have been nice (ex: updates about orders, apologies to waiting customers etc) but overall I would not let this deter me from enjoying a lovely meal.

We decided to try Chili Pepper House for dinner because we wanted to try Asian Indian fused food. So we were expecting dishes packed with flavor from the spices. Place was clean and service a bit slow. But the staff was very friendly. We ordered the Veggie Pakora and Chutney Sauce. It was delicious. We also ordered the butter chicken. The sauce was red and tasted no way near what butter chicken should taste like. My sons, who love butter chicken didn't finish their plate. We also ordered Curry Fish and Curry Egg Plant. The Curry was disappointing. There was no spices no flavor. The Curry was definitely not Indian and not Chinese either. It was just bland. Don't recommend the Curry Dishes. We also ordered the Seafood Fried Rice which was good. Because my sons were hungry still I also ordered Beef Tomato with Egg. Dish was good. If they added some sugar to offset the sour taste from the tomatoes, dish would have been very good. The food definitely tasted different from the last time we ate here which was over 5 plus years ago. Food than had lots of flavourful and spices. Maybe there other dishes that others commented about are worth the visit. If we do come back (we like to support local eateries) we'll stay away from the curry dishes.

I called the restaurant at around 6pm to reserve a table for two at 10:30 pm; I called again at 9pm to confirm my reservation and their closing time. The employee working that shift confirmed that they will be open till 11.

We walked into the restaurant at 10:30pm, where my friend and I were asked to leave because they actually closed at 10:30pm. This was terrible service because prior to our arrival I had called twice to confirm, mainly because it takes us 45 minutes to reach the restaurant.

When we refused to order for take out, the lady working there asked us to place our order really fast, without even seating us, or handing out the menus.

I had told her that we had called twice before coming, for which she just said that her employees were not aware that it closes at 10:30pm! This is unacceptable because DURING MY SECOND CALL, I CLEARLY ASKED THEM WHAT TIME THEY WILL BE OPEN TILL ONLY CAUSE GOOGLE SAID THEY CLOSE AT 10:30 PM, AND IF I NEEDED TO CHANGE THE RESERVATION TO AN EARLIER TIME!

The lady in charge claimed that she couldn't call me to inform as I hadn't left a number. If she had in fact tried to call me, she was definitely aware that 2 people will be walking in because of their staff's mistake. They had sufficient time to make arrangements for us or at least not make us feel guilty about walking in on a time we thought we would be served!

I have been here twice before this, the food is nice, but the service has always been like this. They never pay attention to reservations, and take a long time to seat us down. This time, we were asked to walk out if we...
