Came here after hearing the good reviews about their sweets and their samosas and I can definitely say it lives up to their good reviews! I ordered online for pickup for 32 samosas and a 1lb box of veggie pakora. I received a hot tray of samosas, a huge takeout container’s worth of tamarind chutney, and a box of veggie pakoras, plus 2 little containers of mint chutney and tamarind chutney. It was nice to receive the chutney as I was not expecting to be given any at all - a lot of places charge extra for it.
I also ordered a 1lb box of assorted sweets and as someone who has never tried Indian sweets before, I was delighted to find they were delicious and full of flavour. The lady behind the counter was kind enough to give my brother and I a small of sample of a dessert before we bought it.
Taste wise, everything tastes quite good! Because we transited here, our box of pakoras got a little softened from the journey home (understandably) and it crisped up easily in the air fryer. I love how they taste. The samosas were packaged well and not a single one of them was soggy or anything. They came in a foil tray with a layer of foil on them as a cover, poked with holes to let steam out. The samosas are perfectly seasoned and spicy.
Service was prompt and quick, straight to the point. The staff were kind and gave me their suggestions about what sweets were popular.
Thanks again for the great service and...
Read moreI recently ordered 7 cups of masala tea for a small gathering, excited to share a flavorful, comforting drink with my friends. Unfortunately, my experience fell far short of expectations. Upon picking up the order and traveling 7 kilometers back home, I was dismayed to discover that all the teas were served unsweetened, despite my clear request for sugar to be included. When I reached out to the restaurant to explain the issue, I was met with an unsatisfactory response. They simply suggested I return to pick up the sugar instead of taking any responsibility for the oversight. It's frustrating enough that they couldn't get such a simple part of the order right, but the lack of any effort to rectify the situation or offer a more customer-friendly solution left me feeling undervalued as a customer. It would have been much easier to resolve the problem without expecting me to make another trip for what should have been included in the first place. Overall, I found the service to be disappointing and lacking in basic customer care. It's a shame, as I had high hopes for a lovely tea experience. It’s clear that some establishments need to prioritize their service quality and customer satisfaction. I won’t be returning, and I can’t recommend this place if you expect attention to detail and decent...
Read moreThey say, "a picture is worth thousand words." However, I am hoping this picture speaks a million words for the possible folks thinking of ordering from this atrocious establishment. The downfall commenced right from my initial call to place my take-out order. The customer service was non-existent, the lady was solely focused on hanging up the phone as quickly as possible, as if she was trying to set a world record for the shortest phone call in history. I want everyone reading to give a big hooray for this lady as she hung up before I even finished my order, I'm sure she now holds the record for the shortest phone call ever made. As for the "food," I strongly feel I am insulting real food by calling whatever they served me as "food," was something lingering at the bottom of a sewage dumpster for the last 15 years. I am appalled at how one human being can pass this on to another human being for to consume, let alone an establishment like Dhaliwal Sweet & Restaurant who should be held to even a higher standard. They say empathy & humanity is on the decline, this restaurant definitely portrays that very well. Thank you Dhaliwal Sweet & Restaurant and all...
